  1. Is Jerry Peet the one who did Top Ten Worst MLP Songs? Because I remember watching one of those and just getting so annoyed - okay so a lot of my favourites were on there, but it's not so much the songs he picked as how he "justified" them. I remember a lot of random Rarity bashing. ...But then I almost never agree with top ten worst/best anything type of videos, or the MLP analyst videos in general - I've never seen one that I liked, even the ones that had somewhat interesting points just always seem so smug and "my interpretation is 100% fact and canon and if you disagree you're just dumb".
  2. I have pony socks! They're kids ones, but I got the biggest size and they fit me (warning for my ugly feet) They had Pinkie, Twilight, Fluttershy, Celestia and Luna (who I was surprised but really happy to see!) in a 5 pack. I also have some knee high stripy Rainbow Dash ones The ones you usually see ponies wearing in art etc are pretty long so I wouldn't wear them every day, but I've worn similar stuff for cosplay before. They have some cute colours c:
  3. Oh I totally get where you're coming from - like I said, I ship PinkieDash too, actually they were my first MLP ship! PinkieShy is my OTP, but I'm a total multishipper. I was just messing with the whole "convert you to the dark side" thing everypony is welcome to the PinkieShy party, no matter what your other shipping preferences! (I would ship FlutterDashPie, but I just can't FlutterDash, for some reason, it's like the only M6 ship I don't like, although I love their friendship. Anyway, yeah - it's a big fandom, there's enough room for all ships ) Yay more people~ ^.^ welcome! and d'awwww, that's such an adorable pic! *instant save* They are indeed the cutest of cutie patootie pies (And I love RariShy too, and RariShyPie - my three fave M6 ponies! <3) (One of my fave pics <3 I just love the colours and detail in their manes, and how they both look so happy together...gah, these two are gonna kill me someday with cuteness XD)
  4. Happy Taco Tuesday, everypony~! been working on my Sonata cosplay and I made these things: moulded from Polymorph and painted with acrylic paint ^^ I know they're not the best, but they're pretty much the first cosplay accessories I've made myself from scratch and I don't think they're toooo bad for a first try...? ^^;; anywho, have an adorable siren/anthro(?) Sonata for your trouble! <3
  5. Yaaay, members!! Welcome guys~ ^__^ D'awww, such cute pics! I love that first one especially It's sweet how you can relate to both of them, too - maybe there's a little Pinkie inside every Fluttershy that has the potential to sound wrong yesss, my evil plan is working~ soon you all will succumb to the PinkieShy side... (I do like PinkieDash too though! Also woooow that second one...I'm sure we can think of some captions, but not sure how many of them would be SFW) Anywho - more pics! <3
  6. Awww, that sounds so adorable! It's really nice of you to look after them, I would love to see all those animals I just have the one dog, and she tends to object very loudly to the presence of other animals XD Anyway, welcome! Flutters and her critters are very happy to have you here
  7. pssst come and post in the Pinkieshy fan club...lol it's my first topic ever on these forums <3

  8. I didn't see a fanclub for my most favouritest of ships, and that just won't do Sooo~ ~*~Welcome to the PinkieShy / FlutterPie Fan Club!~*~ The pink and the yellow, the hyper and the shy, the balloons and the butterflies...here is a place for all to enjoy the unbelievable cuteness of Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy together Just a few rules before we begin: ~ Follow all normal forum rules (duh~). ~ Keep things on topic/PinkieShy-related! ~ Please do not bash other ships, characters, each other...or anything at all! Bashing is bad, 'kay? :okiedokielokie: ~ Please use spoiler cuts for for larger or URLed pics to avoid lag. ~ Have fun!!! With that out of the way...let the picspam commence! I'll get us started~ and a discussion topic, if anypony feels like it: Why do you ship PinkieShy? My answer, c&ped from favourite ships thread:
  9. ...Yeah, I know lots of people hate EQG (and that's fine), but this is pretty reaching. As much as some bronies seem to want to believe otherwise, I really doubt Hasbro's decisions revolve around "how will bronies react to this" as much as "how much merch will this help us sell". And no company makes decisions with the intent to reduce their fanbase and therefore make less money - whatever Hasbro-in-general think of the whole brony thing, it means a whole lot more potential customers and that's not something any right-thinking toy company will want to pass up on. And it makes much more sense to use an existing brand like MLP to break into the dolls market - there's already an established fanbase, concept and characters, none of the effort or risk involved with making a brand new line they would then have to develop and promote. Hate EQG all you want, but it shouldn't be difficult to see why it exists, even just from a solely financial point of view, and the hurt feelings of (some) bronies that they dared to do something slightly different (which nobody is forcing them to watch and does not affect FiM at all) with their precious horses are likely pretty low down on Hasbro's priority list, if they even feature at all.
  10. The only moment I can honestly say I hated was Pinkie's scene in Filli Vanilli (the second time around, when she makes Fluttershy run off crying). So horrible and painful to watch for Flutters, and so OOC for Pinkie - yes, she can be oblivious and insensitive at times, but she's also been shown to be sensitive when it comes to Fluttershy in particular ("we can't prank Fluttershy!" in Griffon The Brush Off) and optimistic, supportive and encouraging when she's been scared in the past (the Hop, Skip and Jump sequence in Dragonshy). IMO it totally failed in being funny and just made Pinkie look like a horrible, tactless and OTT stupid pony when that's the exact opposite of what she's about as a character and why I love her. And it's extra sad because that episode is otherwise one of my all time favourites and if were it not for that one scene, it would be (for me) perfect I can forgive a lot when it comes to this show, even though there are plenty of moments I didn't enjoy or thought were unnecessary/OOC/whatever, but that's really the only moment I really wish never happened.
  11. SunFlash (or whatever you call it) is totally not Coco-approved either X3 but don't worry, Sunset did actually say she wasn't really into Flash in RR, so I consider that ship pretty sunk Sunny's free and single~
  12. OI KNEW SHE WAS STILL TRUBBLE!!! I'm not so sure on the voice, but I do love EQG Tavi's clothes/design. Pretty colours and looks very classy, fits her well
  13. I have about five pony shirts and I wear them in public all the time I also have some badges and the mini TY Fluttershy and Rarity clip-on plushies on my bag, so I'm not very subtle XD I've had compliments from fellow bronies at meets etc, but no reactions from the general public, except little kids noticing the plushies a few times which was cute
  14. very well put, these are exactly my thoughts on the matter~ And why I wouldn't ever say any ship is "gross" or "wrong", though there are plenty I'm not into myself - if someone else likes it, that's cool with me and I don't want to bash others. Ship and let ship is my motto Anyway, I have lots of ships but PinkieShy and Rarijack are my all-time OTPs. I'm all about the "opposites attract but also have more in common than they might think" dynamic Adagio Dazzle/Trixie, Sonata Dusk/Aria Blaze and Twilight Sparkle/Sunset Shimmer are also some of my favourite ships at the moment
  15. I absolutely hated school and had some of the worst experiences of my life there. College and uni were a little better, but for me I think there's just something about a school-like environment that's really stressful. Not all of it was necessarily the school's fault, but I really struggled with fitting in and making friends - I have good friends now, but none of them are from school/uni/college. (The work was never a problem, except for PE which I hated, it was just...everything else.) It seems to be pretty common to hate it (although obviously for the people who like it, that's awesome) and I wonder if that's because the school environment, generally speaking, is...not very accommodating when it comes to people who are in any way "different", especially those who are shy/introverted as teachers can often be insensitive to stuff like that and force kids to do things they really don't want to like speaking in front of the class or something. I mean, I've had great teachers who were really understanding as well as terrible ones so it's pretty much just luck I guess, but...yeah, it makes me a little sad thinking that there are kids out there now who are having as tough a time as I did, for whatever reason. ...but mostly I'm just really glad I work at home now.
  16. Well, my music taste has changed a lot on its own before I got into MLP...for example, I used to be really into pop-punk/what was then called "emo" music, mostly Fall Out Boy and Panic! at the Disco. I still listen to those bands occasionally, but now it's more a mix of pop, dance (more old school/90s influenced stuff than EDM/dubstep) and guitar/"indie" music. After discovering MLP, it's the same plus all the songs from the show/EQG I don't really listen to the fan-made stuff - there are some songs I like okay if I hear them randomly at a con or something or a friend recommends them, but I don't typically seek out brony music to listen to on my own.
  17. Oooh, Nightmare Shimmer! Love it I could see this happening, I mean pre-reformation and if she stayed in Equestria... now for some adorable SunnyShy~ and Sunny booping Twilight, just because.
  18. Awww, you guys~ c': thank you so much and right back at you of course! <3 I wasn't going to to do this but aside from the above two fabulous people: @Big_Macincheese, @Chikorita Brony, @ooBrony, @FlutterAether, @CC_Maud_Pie, @Frostgage, @Coby, @DawningDemon, @Spirit Rush, @yayayayayala :3, @Monokuma, @Sir Hugoholic :3 honourable mention of some people I haven't really talked to but seem super cool: @Banul, @Royal Blue Jay, @Kyo, @The Shyest One, @Jeric and of course, everypony in the Fluttershy and Sunset Shimmer (and whatever other fanclubs I post in but probably those are the most frequent) fanclubs, y'all are awesome and have impeccable taste of course also everyone on my friends list who I haven't mentioned yet! and anyone else I may have forgotten for any reason <3
  19. I respectfully disagree. I think there is often a difference between "fans" and "fandom", although I guess "fandom" can also refer simply to a group of fans. But I don't think that's how most people understand the terms. Take something really popular, like, say, Game of Thrones. A lot of people enjoy the TV show and would consider themselves a fan, but a smaller portion of those go on to have in-depth discussions about the show online, draw fanart, write fanfic etc - those are the ones I'd consider "in fandom". I think it would be ridiculous to say that my mum is "in GoT fandom", when she doesn't even know what a fandom is, like the majority of the show's viewers. I don't consider myself in the GoT fandom either, though I like the show, because I'm not really interested in doing the traditional "fandom" type things online for it, while I am with MLP (and hence consider myself a brony or in MLP fandom). That's why I think fandom is something one chooses to be in, and usually goes beyond just watching/reading/playing/enjoying the thing, which simply makes someone a fan. Someone who likes MLP but doesn't want to call themselves a brony, I would call a fan, or they can call themselves something else, whatever - the point is, I don't think there's any need to label people against their will over something as trivial as this. A brony (or furry) isn't a thing that exists independently of any fan community - it's just a word people have decided on collectively to describe themselves. If someone doesn't feel that applies to them, then it doesn't really make any sense to say they ARE a brony (etc) whether they want to be or not. I'm really not comfortable with the idea of forcing people into labels they don't want and that goes for both "all MLP fans are bronies" and "all bronies are furries". They're both just made-up words with as much meaning as people ascribe to them, they don't describe empirical facts (like if I insist my hair is purple, that doesn't change the fact that it's actually blonde. Now, if someone likes a thing but insists they're not a FAN, then I'd agree with you, because those things are basically interchangeable.) I do agree that fan segregation/"not like THOSE fans" is dumb, but I don't think labelling people against their will is a good solution, and is probably a big factor in why there's so much hostility between brony/furry communities in general.
  20. I feel like what some people might be forgetting here is that brony/furry, or any fandom name really, are things people choose to identify as/call themselves, or not. I don't think someone who likes MLP is automatically a brony - they might not like the term or want to be associated with the fandom, and that's perfectly fine. Same with furries, someone who likes anything based around anthropomorphic animals might not consider themselves a furry either - it's entirely up to the individual, not something someone IS as part of their DNA or whatever o.o Also, people have a wide variety of reasons for liking things, it feels a little reductive to say: "bronies like MLP because of the personalities, not that they're animals, while furries like things mainly because they're animals" - those things may be true for some bronies and furries, but far from all, and sometimes it almost has an undertone of "bronies appreciate the CHARACTERS not like those gross furries who just like anything anthropomorphic animal-related". :/ (not saying this is what most people mean, it just sometimes feels that way when certain anti-furry/pro-brony people say it). So basically I don't think we need to get too hung up on the exact definitions of "brony" and "furry": someone can be one or both or neither, but it is entirely up to them whether/how they participate in fandoms and call themselves. I don't expect that will stop the fighting but it's worth keeping in mind, maybe?
  21. This got me thinking about how many m/f friendships there are in MLP, hmm...off the top of my head, I can think of: Twilight & Spike Fluttershy & Discord Twilight & Discord Applejack & Big Mac Twilight & Shining Armor CMC & Spike Rarity & Spike Celestia & Discord Fluttershy & Bulk Biceps Rainbow Dash & Soarin Rarity & Fancy Pants CMC & Featherweight Pinkie & Cranky Doodle Donkey Pinkie & Cheese Sandwich Braeburn & Little Strongheart Flitter, Cloudchaser & Thunderlane are often seen hanging out together, if they count Even considering a lot of those are one-episode wonders or cameos (or for the ones involving Discord, slightly rocky, but arguably count as friendships at this point), that seems like a pretty decent amount to me. There aren't that many significant non-intra-M6 friendships with mares either, really - as others have pointed out, we don't see them hanging out with others than each other very often, unless they're part of the plot, because that's pretty much how ensemble shows work. Pinkie claims to be friends with everypony in Ponyville (although obviously not as close as the M6), but we obviously can't see her hanging out with all of them, we just assume she does it off-screen. I can see Ponyville as one of those small towns where everyone tends to be at least friendly acquaintances, so I've never really noticed a significant lack of mare/stallion friendships, apart from there just being fewer stallions than mares in general. One thing I don't get though is when people complain that all the male characters are "bad" in some way...Spike is arguably as well developed as the M6, or at least the CMC, which means he has flaws but is far from a bad character, or just there for comic relief. Discord may have started out as a villain but that doesn't, IMO, demean the importance of his friendship with the M6 now - his friendship with Fluttershy is his main character arc - and it's not like all the villains are male either: there's a pretty even distribution of female and male villains (Chrysalis, Nightmare Moon, Sombra, Tirek) and more minor antagonists (Trixie, Flim & Flam, Iron Will, Gilda). Pretty much all the other male characters, though they may get less screentime, are portrayed positively and, in the case of Big Mac and Shining Armor, have a notable role in the plot and/or character(s) of the M6. So yeah (I'd like to see more Spike/CMC episodes, personally! I think they're adorable together and could have lots in common that hasn't been explored yet )
  22. Yay, welcome to the thread! Tavi is most pleased to have you here:
  23. Lately, I can't help feeling like some people on here take the "most attractive pony" tournament (and other poll-type stuff) waaaay too seriously. It's just meant to be fun, but the amount of "vote X!!!" I'm seeing in otherwise unrelated topics is starting to get tiring, especially in the fanclubs where some people are acting like it's a fight to the death or something as well as bashing of fans of certain ponies for being "unoriginal", which is uncomfortable to me - of course different people are going to have different opinions, there's no need to bring personal insults into it for something as trivial as who someone's favourite pony is for what reasons. I'll vote for fun but in the end, I really don't care if my faves don't win - it has no bearing on my enjoyment at all.
  24. I CANNOT SEW ;____; literally i have watched a million how to videos and I CAN'T TIE THE DAMN KNOT IN THE THREAD ajkdhajskhfjkfna

@Vital Spark the knot at the beginning! Though I learned to do a couple back stitches instead and that works pretty well c:

@legionbrony XD still more than I've managed so far~ and beanbags can be very useful :P

      Maze

      Oh my gosh, darling dear! You're so adorable! ;v;

See, depending on what it is you're sewing, you don't really have to tie a knot.. You can just leave a piece of the thread hanging... Looking all swag, hanging there! xD No but really, and then you just secure your work with some extra tight stitches. Works just fine!

But I'm certain you've had it figured out by now! Or at least, so I hope! xD <3

The knot at the beginning of easy. You can tie that in the thread before you even touch the fabric.
