  1. Wait, I'm confused here. Did you create the thread to discuss the existence of a general consensus in the fandom, or to debate about the use of the phrase itself? In the first case: There are certain opinions global enough to be held by the majority of the fandom, so to say there is a general consensus on some parts of the show would not be wrong. If it's about the use of the phrase itself...I'm not entirely sure what to say, really. I'm not entirely sure where 'elitism' comes into it either; is it the choice of words or something? Sorry if both these things are completely unrelated to what you mean, I'm just trying to get some clarity while also attempting to stay on-topic.
  2. Given my affection for Sunset Shimmer is mainly due to her human form...I'm going with human here. Sunset has easily the best human form in my opinion. Also since it's about 'attractive'...yeah, human for me.
  3. With all the talk about a sports team, probably the Shadowcolts or something similar. Maybe Human Twilight will be antagonistic as well, since it seems like she doesn't know about friendship like the real Twilight does.
  4. I'd say Mars because of all the research going on about that planet right now. This is not to say the rest of the planets aren't interesting; Mars just seems to be most like Earth (and unlike Venus we can actually explore it without melting).
  5. Just as a matter of interest, do you prefer to translate individual words or do you prefer to transliterate the full name into katakana? I've seen you doing both in this thread so I was wondering what you prefer. The only OC I could think of asking would probably be Midnight Terror, which I think would become 'Mittonaito Tero' or 'Reiji Shingai (零時震駭)' Based on the one Japanese dictionary I have, anyway.
  6. Well, I'm pretty desensitized as well, that's why the rare thing that does get through hit all the harder. But I feel that pain, I've lost family as well, though not recently.
  7. Before I'd seen these I had never seen PMVs before. As long as a PMV is well made I really don't care whether they use the old or the new style, but I can't say 'they're all good' because I'm fairly certain bad ones exist. I used to watch a lot of AMVs and there were some pretty bad ones there, anyway.
  8. I like Feeling Pinkie Keen because of the insanity of it all, and I like Putting Your Hoof down because it shows that even a pony like Fluttershy can become horrible if she's being coached in the wrong way.
  9. Friendship is Magic pt. 2, when Twilight's reaction to Pinkie randomly bursting into song was the same as mine: "Tell me she's not." It was a nice bit of self-awareness that to me meant that this show was not like its predecessors. After that, Winter Wrap Up. Why? Because everypony was randomly singing about cleaning up winter. So I went from disliking the singing (or at least not caring for it) to loving it.
  10. My girlfriend and I want to have two pugs someday; we're calling them Sir Harris and Lady Puglia. (Named after an Italian town called Redipuglia)
  11. Pugs. I know you're supposed to feel sorry for them because of all the over-breeding but I can't help but love that derpy look they have. Aside from them, though, I like labradors because our dog is one and it's because of that dog I'm no longer afraid of dogs.
  12. I have a Facebook so I can contact people I don't have on Skype/Whatsapp. I don't post anything, however, and with the new rule that allows that sell all your info I untagged myself from every picture and put my birthday and gender on different settings. I also have a Twitter, which I mainly use to check fencing-related business, although I tend not to look at it at all. Instagram means nothing to me but idiots taking pictures of their lunch. (No offense to anyone who does this, although I am seriously curious why you'd do it.)
  13. Here specifically we don't really have a name, but in The Hague, which is close enough to where I live you've got 'Hagenezen', which refers to people born and raised there, and 'Hagenaars' which refers to people who live there but aren't originally from The Hague. Some people are quite touchy about the distinction, apparently.
  14. Star Wars and Lord of the Rings are obvious choices, but the one that first popped into my mind was Kill Bill, especially Battle Without Honor Or Humanity and Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood.
  15. I don't read much fanfiction (although I do write it) or listen to brony-made music. I have no interest in role playing. I'm not interested in the whole waifu phenomenon.
  16. This is letting go - Rise Against The wind died, the whole world ceased to move Now so quiet, her beating heart became a boom We locked eyes for just a moment or two She asked 'why?' I said I don't know why, I just know People Live Here - Rise Against May you be in heaven before the devil knows you're dead May these winds be always at your back When we're all just ghosts and the madness overtakes us We will look at the ashes and say people lived here I Don't Want To Be Here Anymore - Rise Against I don't want to be here anymore I know there's nothing left worth staying for Your paradise is something I've endured See I don't think I can fight this anymore I'm listening with one foot out the door Something has to die to be reborn And I don't want to be here anymore Let It Happen - Jimmy Eat World Talk, talking a lot but it's still talk Gotta love how it's somehow all on me All the petty scenes, all the pretty things Say whatever you want 'cause I can laugh it off Awakening - Yellowcard Bottoms up tonight I drink to you and I 'Cause with the morning comes the rest of my life And with this empty glass I will break the past 'Cause with the morning I can open my eyes And maybe I will see A different destiny Like knowing you at all was only a bad dream I want this to be my awakening I'm pretty sure I have loads more but this will do for now.
  17. This is my main crush from any series ever. Ever since Elfen Lied Lucy has also been my favorite name in the world. (Yes, I know that's not her real name. I just like Lucy better than her real name) The second one would be Shana from Shakugan no Shana, I think. But honestly, I've had so many crushes it would take me ages to list them all.
  18. That might actually be interesting. Still I hope for a bit of explanation this time around. I know I'm not part of the target audience but I can't imagine the creators having no idea why things happen.
  19. Honestly, this thread gives those guys far too much credit. They're trolls; being deliberately insulting and misinformed is what they thrive on. Getting worked up over them means they win. Yes, they misrepresent autism and I do understand that people can consider that hurtful. But you have to remember: this is the internet. Communities where respect is expected and trolls are banned are rare. Youtube certainly isn't one of those places. They know full well that what they're doing paints the wrong picture of both the fandom and autism, but they do it anyway, for the lulz. The Internet Hate Machine extends far beyond 4chan these days and everyone who gets worked up about it feeds them more reasons to continue. Deprive them of their food and ignore them, and you'll be much happier for it. They won't stop doing it until we collectively stop reacting to them. Don't even report them; getting a new account up and running is easily done. Just ignore whatever they do and remember: Don't feed the trolls. They're not ignorant; they're spiteful. Don't reason with them, don't engage them, don't give them anything. Anything you say to them is a victory for them. You cannot win a battle against them. Starve them of attention, their e-peens will shrivel and fall off and maybe they'll get a life.
  20. Considering I have no pony OCs, I'd prefer to meet Rainbow Dash. If I did have an OC though, I'm not too sure. I'd probably still go with Rainbow Dash because I'd know everything there is to know about my OC.
  21. The scariest one I've read was The Smiling Man, which is scary because it could actually happen. I also enjoyed Pokemon Creepy Black and Lost Silver a lot. The Rake I just found humorous because a 'rake' as a noun is just a gardening tool and in Dutch we call people who have a particularly wooden way of moving rakes. (Again, as in the gardening tool to rake leaves and such). So to picture the scene where the phrase 'He is the Rake' is said in Dutch is kind of funny. ...I explained this super badly but I assure you it's funny. Really.
  22. Probably Mountain Dew since I'm drinking that at the moment. Otherwise, no clue.
  23. If you want attention for something you actually accomplished then it's fine with seeking it. However I see far too many selfies and pictures of people's lunches these days. That sort of attention seeking is just stupid in my opinion. I don't think all of us are attention seekers because a lot of us will be content being left alone for the most part. Only when we accomplish something do we seek approval (or constructive criticism, although that usually isn't appreciated anymore either.) Now that I say that, that's another form of attention seeking I loathe. Fishing for compliments and burning down the first person who says something other than "Praise be unto your divine lunch" or something similar. (Kudos to anyone who posts something utterly sarcastic like that and gets thanked for it).
  24. I'll stay at home only when I'm either so sick I can't move, or when I'm faking it somehow. Otherwise I'll just do whatever I intended on doing anyway. I'll drink lots of water, and if something hurts I'll take an aspirin.
  25. My Skype is KatonRyu, like my name. I'm not very big on adding people myself when I don't know them well, but feel free to add me if you want to. I'm always online, pretty much, although sometimes I'll be logged in somewhere when I'm either training, asleep or whatever.
