  1. I'm usually a really good sport when it comes to competition. But I'll admit, in areas where I have a special interest or expertise, I want to shine to the fullest of my abilities. If I don't, I get self-critical and grumpy. With stuff like video games, I get mad when the controls aren't intuitive and don't feel enough like real life (where I never have to press three buttons simultaneously to do the simplest of actions) and it frustrates me because the outcome of my resulting playing does not reflect my true abilities. When I get beaten by twelve-year-olds who have no such difficulty I let my own inner twelve year old out to do some wholesale pouting (when no one's looking of course).
  2. I hum to my favorite music constantly...as long as there is no one else around. I can't sing and my humming isn't much better so I try to keep it to myself as a public service to others.
  3. Having dark thoughts is like a fixture of everyday life I've had since I was a teenager. It feels like I have a good brain and an evil brain inside my head and they're in perpetual war with each other. I often shut out the bad stuff by focusing on art or writing because creativity consumes all my facilities and reinforces more positive pathways in the brain. I also have little 'happy places' where I go in my thoughts; little imagined pocket paradises where nothing dark can invade. I've managed to keep the bad stuff in its place and I don't let it consume my life. I'm not about thinking bad thoughts about or toward others; it's all focused inwardly, so at least they don't have to be a nuisance to anyone but me. That at least is one positive thing.
  4. I live in Southern Cal and Sea World isn't that far down the road. I was there once when I was little, but haven't been there in many years. As I recall it was really fun. My favorite part was the Orca show and everyone getting splashed in the front few rows. If I remember correctly, there was another area where people could put on wet suits and swim with the fish (some of which looked a little dangerous to be honest), but I wasn't allowed to go in there because I was too young. I don't know how much of this stuff is still there, but I'd love to go back and see the place again. Lovely place!
  5. My stance on Anti-Bronies is the same as it is on anyone else who has to hate on something to fulfill themselves. Honestly, if their lives are so empty they have to fill it with hate, they're the ones suffering, not me. It doesn't affect my life at all, and never has.
  6. The Midnight In Me is just phenomenal! Truly a next-level song and definitely my favorite in the movie. Soooo stirring.
  7. My role models can be either fictional or non-fictional. Even though I could never hope to rise to the level of most of them, the benchmark for me is set in place by Walt Disney, George Lucas, Nikola Tesla, Werner Von Braun and Harold Lloyd. To elucidate, Walt and George have set the bar for creativity and pioneering new ways to convey it. Nikola and Werner are pioneers in science and invention; both seeking to further the boundaries of human knowledge and exploration and not limiting themselves to the conventions of accepted thinking. Harold Lloyd is a comic genius who proves you don't have to be a scientist or statesman to benefit the human race and set a standard for generations to aspire to. As far as fictional personalities, Luke Skywalker, Yoda, Belle and Rapunzel are fixtures of my life that are never far from my mind. I think I try to emulate them without even realizing it.
  8. I live in Southern Cal. Here, we drive. If I want to ride a bike (which I enjoy) I'd have to put a bike in the trunk of the car and drive to the beach or a park to ride it. I can ride a bike or walk in town, but the traffic makes bicycling too hectic and risky, and walking isn't worth it when there are too many cruddy areas and crime.
  9. Since you already mentioned JJ Abrams, I'll throw in a couple others instead. Peter Jackson comes to mind, and possibly Roland Emmerich. Both rely on an overabundance of special effects to compensate for their directorial shortcomings. And I would get James Newton Howard to do the score, because he churns out pretty much all the scores these days, or so it seems. He's the equivalent of the aforementioned directors in terms of music; prolific and in some ways competent, but vastly overrated.
  10. I'm a very friendly, outgoing person; always polite and level-headed, unless I'm 'in the zone' where I'm busily focused on something like a creative project, in which case DO NOT APPROACH UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR FEATURES REARRANGED IN A MOST UNAESTHETIC MANNER! Personality clash? Not really. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go feed some adorable children to the pit beast in my basement.
  11. I usually wear a dress during the day. Right now I'm wearing my dayglow yellow gym shorts and a grey t-shirt.
  12. I love pink! Some of my favorite things are pink! So much variety in the great spectrum of pinkness, from baby pink to magenta. My favorite is right down the middle with a nice rosy pink. That's my favorite lipstick.
  13. Watching Ghost Adventures and waiting for a commercial so I can go empty the dishwasher. Riveting, I know.
  14. Nice style. I really like it! The top one is my favorite. That minimalist design is very cool. Thanks for sharing!
  15. Nice artwork! I think the poses are really nice. A lot of artists are stiff when it comes to making good dynamic poses, but yours are very well done. I would not call your shading limited either. But if you're interested, I'll tell you what helped me a lot with my shading and shadows. If you make the edges of the shadows a little darker than the bulk of the shadow, it creates a sense of reflected light within the darker shading that adds a sense of depth. Keep up the great work!
  16. Hi Limestone-Pie! Great intro! Your coolness is refreshing and I'm sure you'll bring good things to these forums. I hope you have a great time here and I'm looking forward to seeing you on the boards!
  17. There may be a few camping out but not many. It's really just for hanging out and being seen. Nowadays it's not like it was in the '70s and '80s when fans used to line up for Star Wars. Now we have Fandango and everypony can get their tickets online. No need to camp on an ice-cold sidewalk and get abused by strangers.
  18. I love Rarity best. She's elegant and creative, and represents what I would like to be at my best. I also love Derpy because she's a textured character that made such a huge impression in just a brief moment of time in The Last Roundup.
  19. Um...all of them I think. At the moment I can't think of many I don't have some kind of a thing for.
  20. Catilingus. Please forgive me for that.
  21. 10 out of freaking 10! I love Judy Hopps!!
  22. I remember seeing it a lot when I was younger. I liked it quite a lot back then. I haven't seen it in a few years now. Wasn't Robert Stack replaced by a different host? I mostly watch other paranormal shows now, but maybe it's worth taking another look.
  23. As long as you remember Rarity, it doesn't matter if you remember those other ponies, whatever their names were. Just kidding! Don't hate me!
  24. I only sleep with a big plush Panda, so no snoring there. But if I did sleep with a snorer, I'd give that person a mouthguard, which is like the protective mouth piece worn by boxers, only they're made for snorers. It doesn't inhibit breathing and it props the mouth open just enough to allow smoother passage of air. My brother used to be a big snorer, and he says this helped him immensely.
