  1. Twi when dueling with Trixie suggested she isn't even the strongest with magic and that some unicorns can trump alicorns. And that's because Twi has less practical experience with magic, being a nerd who studies, and her cutie mark is for the magic of friendship and studying and then a general bonus to magic. For Starlight, its basically just magic, which is why she is a bit directionless after her reform if you discount her magic. Her magic is her boutique or wonderbolts or Twi's castle. Also when she manipulated time n space, she cannot repeat it due to the scroll being destroyed if I recall, and she didn't do it too op, just only as good as any other time travel device. She didn't specifically choose a route she preferred, so she isn't god tier, a god would foresee the chain reactions and work it out accordingly. And certainly would be smarter than to cause conflict while doing it just to set themselves up for failure. Now Dash, comparing her to any other pegasi she is 'op'. But compared to Starlight she is much less versatile yes. But flight itself has other advantages as well as being able to manipulate the weather to a high degree. Just because we have the nuke rainboom pic, doesn't mean that's her only ability to measure her power on. You say powered up Tirek, but Twi was powered up too if we recall.
  2. I would get Discord to fix it, problem solved. Besides, you can't kill Maud, she can tear apart boulders with her hooves like its made of dried clumps of dirt. Just replace those rocks with your bones is what would happen to you. fatality Not only that, she punches super fast. Her reaction time is supa fast, so no, you guys above wouldn't be able to kill her and Fluttershy would be ashamed (and sad!) if you did.
  3. I want understanding to replace emotional assumptions or convictions etc, everywhere, which would include the fandom. The benefit is seeing clearly on issues, and defusing issues.
  4. I guess, I mean its not unbearably slow or anything, just feel they could get the same message across faster.
  5. If CN got it tho, it might actually end up being good. But they could always you know, ruin it like Teen Titans Go, to appeal to less mature audiences. But CN has crazier stuff for shows, so I know mlp then wouldn't be as slow paced as it is now. And forget about nickelodeon bleh.
  6. I think zany is good, so yeah. The unpredictability is good for humor and plot elements that seem exaggerated, going slice of life more so is causing a more calm approach. Like the Maud episode, it was a good episode, and it did have a moderately extreme part where Maud almost gets eaten, but that is a brief moment and it involved barely any commotion. I just feel like the episodes could feel a little more full if they weren't so calm. Calmness is slowness, and slowness means less content due to spacing between events or dragging out events which could be communicated in a smaller span of time. But the lessons are getting more complex, so it makes sense they add more exposition I guess- for the younger audience.
  7. He was jealous, and perhaps he didn't care if he caused an incident because he might still twist it to his favor. But it could be he is crazy, he talks to his pet bird to concoct his plans lol. Hm, fridge logic, hmm. Kinda hard to come up with one. I don't watch movies often.
  8. That's the nature of magic, but they have proof magic can be emotional with all bottled up and the Sombra episodes. Then Starlight and Trixie episodes have good moments to consider also. But if you want an in-depth physics tier explanation it won't happen. It seems like tho, if I had to guess, the horn's resonance tier is what causes stronger magic, like when lifting the Ursa Minor Twilight's magic was straining to generate a larger telekinetic field. Perhaps its like an engine. But frameworks and patterns and techniques, probably largely psychological, do go into magic. For the Rarity and Trixie getting OP artifacts sorta magic, it basically gives them what they want for magic, lowers the threshold they need to breach. Trixie was just freestyling stuff, and that's without rituals or technique or etc, but its also more than just knowledge oriented otherwise you could use the Alicorn Amulet one time to learn a bunch of spells then just do them after from memory. Also I think its related to their cutie marks. I think, like psychological pruning and development, the mind is whats behind what types of magic ponies can do. When they get their mark, is the path their minds begin to take. Pruning is a psychological process where 'unneeded' informational branches are removed, and only the useful ones remain to develop and grow. So cutie marks can be related to animals that imprint, and think others can be their mother like ducks because its whom they first see when they are born. Except for cutie marks its the thing that speaks closer to them, the recognition of it, as they tend to already be into it or good at it, then the cutie mark is just them realizing the fact. So its about skills related to individual purpose or interest, the direction one's magic can go. Now beyond pony magic, like the elements of harmony, yes, that's deus ex machina all the way lol. With Eqg tho, its a movie, they have less time to establish whats possible and what isn't. Sirens were different species, that's the explanation there, Ponying up, that's just an extension or their version of the elements of harmony probably. Then the idea of corruption shows up alot, and corruption is basically misguided power. So basically, yes, assume everything is possible, but whats likely is stuff that's already happened before, which are themes of corrupt power, and ponying up, or villains with unique powers, misused artifacts, Discovering virtues which grant super powers lol. What makes magic appealing to a writer tho, is that magic helps people write more diverse material. And shiny lights are simpler than say copying medieval designs which requires extensive and broad research, instead they have a creative team do their own thing, which takes less time. Is my guess anyways.
  9. For constructive criticism I think you should drag on less, like less time between comments, if you chopped up some of your silent moments it'd appear that you are speaking faster and hold my attention for longer.
  10. The ponies bought into their proud propaganda lol. Why would people be confused over the moral? But if a youtuber is confused, well, I think they are just people too, they are prone to making mistakes, and because they have to churn out content may make even more than others due to requiring a script in a timely manner. Because they have multiple processes for the process of the video competing for their attention, they have less time to put into actual analysis, so are more likely going to over-look something, and come to a more standard conclusion if I had to guess. And I guess the average viewer might not be very thoughtful on the topic having other interests to put their minds to. But, it was Pinkie Pie's whole deal for the second half of the story, if people missed it I think they were getting too stunned from Pinkie's or the Yak's 'randomness' and getting distracted to pay attention to motivations. I guess this is evidence ppl can get confused. xD I'm silly sometimes lol.
  11. So did the episode not air or something? Can't seem to find it.
  12. Humans would realize Celestia n Luna are not gods and they would get assassinated eventually due to alternate religions or people vying for power etc. Humanity would need to be raised from the start with the princesses to really be well adjusted to them and have our cultures more hospitable for them. But yes of course I would like it, who wouldn't.
  13. I feel like Starlight is more of a type of literary device, which becoming a princess may end up ruining.
  14. Had a great dream. Dreampt I was gender swapped and slowly due to some unknown reason my magic was growing significantly stronger, and I was a vampire at first but then had so much magic it didn't matter if I was in sunlight. And Annoying dog/greater dog hybrid showed up and left n I tried following him by flying and noticed I can't find him, so I flew significantly faster til I could spot him traveling so fast he was a blur. And I was in two locations at once (dream changed focus then I took advantage of that) and sent a communication to my mom through the tv only she could hear at the same time I was giving a speech at the place as a female, while being next to my mom as well. Inb4 people ask no I'm not trans. I just play as females in Fallout games n such, and with my OCs. I think its from reading and playing overwatch and watching a series on how to be a good gm, tho I never played dnd myself.

  18. Are those origami ponies? Oh now I see what you said. Its good tho.
  19. Hm I prefer Nightmare Star tbh(visually and name-wise). Nightmare Star may be the 'true' version as well, due to it being only Starlight's imagination, but knowing the show they would prolly make it more consistent than that. So in which case, if NMS could be a possibility in the show, how could she occur as different to this version? She does have other differences. In fact, I think its a personality that's got Luna's dream walking abilities (hence nightmare and a darker cutie mark) plus is peaceful and has eternal day (hence different demeanor and regalia). And the Elements of Harmony have their marks on her throne, so its likely she is peaceful. Perhaps in an alternate reality she was born the only sister, so needed to learn her sister's dream-walking abilities in her place, and she ran unopposed, so doesn't really have a need for the aggressive attitude of DayBreaker. And because her sun's rays are darker, she probably holds the sun further away for milder light to balance it out.

  21. I think a cutie mark is like an animal imprinting onto its mother. Just it happens later in life, and its the moment their brains decide what to work on for development, what it'll focus its natural magic towards, and interpretation of the mark matters too as Rarity designs dresses for example, and the diamonds are symbolic of generosity and fabulousness etc, rather than literal gems, so its not the mark really its the meaning behind the mark that dictates. But she also finds gems, so yeah lol. But its not what she is best at as Maud demonstrated what gems were more common before. I think it does change one's focus, but I think its like the nature vs nurture argument, like lets say in a universe where AJ's entire family died, and no more apples exist, would she still get an apple cutie mark? No, it'd be impossible. So question is what mark does she get? Pears? Or, something based on locality. I think a cutie mark is gained for whichever fills you with the most happiness or joy and that is what is imprinted into your mind then your mind, and thus your magic, end up developing towards such a thing. Why the cmc was delayed can be explained to having a more diverse meaning of a cutie mark, more stress than their peers, and their indecision to stick to one task. They got marks all similar because they are the best of friends. I mean sure Sweetie is prolly good at singing, actually, but its not what impact she wants to make with her life, so its also tied to purpose perhaps, not just joy. But that's just my take, which is not even a head-canon because I am open to information contradicting it in the future. But yeah, its prolly just the directions their magic takes. Like the years of psychological pruning during psycho-social development. It lets the magic focus to excel, rather than being too unwieldy and a 'master of none' jack of all trades sorta deal. Eh I see Rarity interested in dresses, doesn't know what to add to them, her magic brings her to gems, helpfully, to add to them to make them nicer, then she gets her mark. I don't see her like, liking construction or something, and focusing on that, then boom, randomly dresses. That's not really what happened here, she took interest first and was working hard at it. If we question why she needed them to be spectacular, well, her parents are Unicorns and she prolly had material related to upper-class living such as Canterlot, prim and proper in some ways. So its environmental or genetic, not because cutie mark sky daddy(Hasbro? Faust? lol) said so.
  22. Well to be fair its a personality quirk. Like others have redemonstrated old flaws, its just her flaw. But its also a strength, and to be fair, it gives the writers something to work with. Also if equestria had therapy, there would be no episodes lol. Episodes have conflict. If anything it makes Starlight more valuable.
