Not gonna lie...this episode was kinda hard to watch. Not because it was bad or anything, it's actually become one of my new favorite episodes in a long while. But to see the amount of torment that Fluttershy endured as a filly, to the point that it continued to plague her as an adult enough that she was reduced to tears (Fluttershy crying = Saddest moment ever) was definately heartbreaking. Especially doesn't help if you were bullied as a kid and can relate, digging up bad memories in the process. However, getting past all that, this episode still had many golden moments. To name a few: - Fluttershy as a tree - Fluttershy unconvincing take at faking being sick - The training montage really helped lighten the mood, especially when Fluttershy waltzed onto the training ground with the animals in tow and the training music following behind her. Like a boss. - TONS of new pegasus introduced in this episode. On that note, does anyone know if the stallion with the Orion constellation cutie mark has been named yet? - Twilight's tech speech was kinda adorable in a geeky way, especially how she looks so happy that she gets to explain what the device is and does. - Twi "Do I look like I speak squirrel?" Tara, you troll! - As many have pointed out, Dash's character was alot more sympathetic in this episode. After being shown as this insensitive jerk for so long, it was nice to see she still has a soft spot for her friends (especially Fluttershy). Now, to end with something a little different: Math. Dash's goal was for 1000 wing power, and she specifically asked for a minimum of 10 wing power for each pegasus. For the sake of argument, let's say the average wingpower was 12 by Tornado day. Given this average, there would have needed to be around 80-85 Pegasus (Give or take a few) in the group to meet this goal. On Tornado day however, 8 were sick with the feather flu. Going on the assumption that the 1000 goal was reached, the loss of 8 pegasus wouldn't have accounted for a 200+ loss in power. For this, the 8 missing would have needed a min of 25 WP each, and even with the about 70-72 or so who participated (factoring in the 12 average) they should have reached their goal of 800 with enough to spare. Even if we assume the 1000 wasn't reached, there still should have been enough WP between them to reach 800 easy. Yes, I'm aware I'm way overthinking this, that this was for the sake of the confict and the resolution of the episode and that I should really invoke the MST3K Mantra right about now...but this still bugs me.

Have to go with Pinkie on this one. Between her complete disregard for the laws of physics and her actions in episodes like Luna Eclipsed...the Pinkie be trollin.

I'd have to slightly agree with them on this one. I was pretty much the same before I watched the show in that I was often bothered by the sheer amount of pony related art on the internet, especially when it was crossed with other things I enjoyed. Now I actively seek out such crossover art, but they still have a valid point here. However...! Those aren't the people I can't stand. No, it's the haters who go completely out of their way to find anything related to something for the sole purpose of hating on it and anyone who may like it. I'd call them trolls, but even trolls have more class more often than not.

No arguments here. Every episode with Rarity in it just proves how much of a well-defined character she is, as opposed to the stereotype many expected her to fall into the first time they saw her.

I'll give it a few hours tops before this episode is mixed with Skyrim in some way, shape or form. As for the episode itself, I'm hard pressed to find one thing about this episode I didn't enjoy. First we have Fluttershy pretty much stealing the episode straight from the beginning (I see she still remembers some of Iron Will's techniques), followed by the numerous heartmelting and awwwww inducing moments between Spike, Rarity and Twilight. Rainbow Dash didn't really do anything this episode save for push Spike's buttons, though she still has her moments both funny and heartwarming. The teenage dragon's seemed pretty cold hearted, even for bullies. I mean, raiding a pheonix nest, trying to kidnap the chicks, all before trying to smash the baby pheonix egg!?! I know they're dragons and all, but that seems cruel even for them. Though on the note of the bullies, does anyone else see a similarity between the purple dragon with blonde eye-covering bangs and the bullies who annoyed Dash in Sonic Rainboom? Same VA perhaps? I especially liked Rarity in this episode. Not only did this episode slightly reinforce the SpikeXRarity ship, but it shows how much she truly cares for him. She nearly begged Dash to stop him when he was prepared to leave for the migration and at the thought of three teenage dragon's laying a claw on her little Spike, she was prepared to show them why you don't mess with a fashionista! All in all, pretty much a perfect episode everyway I look at it.

Just got back from McDonalds, Twilight now happily sitting on my desk (if only I could get her tail straight!). Probably won't be getting another for a while though. Buying a Happy Meal is one thing, actually walking in and asking for the toys themselves is a whole other nerve-wracking experience entirely!
