Blind Bag Fail

... on my part, that is.

 

so, i try to get the best view of the pony through the small hole in the corner of the blind bags.

and my mom was looking with me, and she gasped and shouted "THIS ONES SPARKLY!"

... i cried and just, threw it in the cart without looking.

i found another two, but thought the one i had in my hand was purple, when it was either pink or blue, so i put the purple one down and left with my batch of 7.

 

i got pinkie pie and rainbow dash.

and left twilight.

 

 

you can't even imagine the amount stupid i am feeling right now.

 

anyone else got blind bag stories/fails/rages?

You may wish to know the blind bags aren't really "blind" if you look at the number on them. I got the 9 I wanted right away - the mane 6 and the 3 sparklies. I also wanted Roseluck but she wasn't there. Here's a video to clarify:

no, i dont believe so. each one comes with a piece of fold out paper which shows all the figures and there aren't any alicorns shown. I dont know if any alicorns are in any of them, actually.. I know Big Mac is in wave (or series) 3. but im sorry, the ones at my walmart are actually wave 4. theres so many. ><

Hasbro released different sets, to different countries. not all countries got all sets.

Okay, to clear a few things up, wave 1 is the same everywhere. Europe has had blind bags for a while now so they're already up to wave 3 and a special edition set that is entirely composed of crystal and metallic ponies but the US has just started getting them so they're still on wave 1.

 

Explanation of the waves/sets.

• Wave 1 has 3 special edition (glittery) ponies, Rainbow Dash, Twilight, and Pinkie Pie.
• Wave 2 includes Cheerilee and special edition (glittery) ponies, Rarity, Applejack, and Fluttershy.
• Wave 3 includes Carrot Top, Lyra, Berry Punch, and Big Mac (among other colts). Special edition (glow in the dark) ponies are Pinkie Pie, Twlilight, and Rarity.
• The special edition set includes Trixie and all the ponies are crystal or metallic.
• Wave 4 hasn't been released yet but will include Trixie, Lyra, Saphire Shores, Cadence, Celestia, and Luna.

Also, the link posted above is a bit misleading. The US hasn't had 3 waves. What they're classifying as waves is mini ponies in different packaging, not the actual blind "bags". So far the US has only had one set of bags.

Ouch, that hurts. I have a slightly similar story...okay, not really similar, but this is the only thread that gives me the excuse to post the story, so here goes anyway.

 

At a screening of pony episodes, the host of the screening decided to give out blind bags to the winners of an emoticon based comic contest. I was one of the winners. However, the host made the sadistic step of taking a hole punch to the one piece of the blind bag foil that held the numbers, so the bags truly were blind because it was impossible to tell which pony was in which bag.

 

I ended up winning a Fizzypop, which is a Pinkie Pie recolor that actually has a pretty interesting color scheme, and when set next to my Twilight and Pinkie Pie figurines from that one set, she looks like she's their foal thanks to the way the colors mix.

 

What makes this funny, though, is the description of Fizzypop. You see, Fizzypop is actually a nihilist. How so? Just read her description!

 

Fizzypop loves to blow bubbles as big as she can, but her favorite part is watching them pop!

I have the vague inclination to write a story based upon this absurd premise.

lol I did the exact same thing I thought it was pinkie pie, and when I opened, everythin but the coat, name and cutiemark where from her, but I looked at the other one and found RD xD
