What's so unappealing with the term, "Pegasister"?

So, the whole "big thing" was the word Brony, because of older men watching MLP. The name Pegasister didn't feel as new and exciting. I would definitely have wanted a better name, and it would have worked out better, I think.
It is not a bad name, just, not standing out as the "new hot thing".

I think the one who has the right to say it's bad or good are the " pegasisters" themselves though....

It's kind of messy now. Not sure if it was early on. Seems like Pegasister wasn't the exclusionary term. Brony was. Because if you're female, "Brony" would feel like you're being excluded. But it would've been weird early on for men to NOT be the white elephant in the room here, so of course they ended up with their own label.

I doubt anyone expected "Brony" to end up being the definitive term for the entire fandom. Also that said, I thought for sure I remember it was a woman who coined "Pegasister," as a way of saying, "Hey, guys, there's girls here too."

I never understood why the term pegasister was seen as anything other then another fun word for the same thing that is. Brony was a play of words, bros who like ponies. Pegasisters similar but pegasi and sister. Still that said, I prefer bronies as girls can be bros too. The word bro doesn't really refer to the persons gender I mean it does sort of but not really. Don't remember though it ever being an issue, pegasisters or bronies I remember streams using it and youtubers perhaps more to help other bronies identify their audience I mean female bronies or pegasisters have usually been pretty popular.

It refers to the pegasi and not MLP as a whole. I don't dislike the term, but another general term would be better. It's like someone just came up with it spontanously, not putting much thought to it.

Hahaha, it is two thirds too lame. Not representative of earth ponies and unicorns. You could take fillies and add an "S" for sister. Don't you think the sillies is a good name?
