music Can you live without music?

This is not a debate on people's opinions on this. It is a simple question asking whether or not you can live without music.

I can, but I can only do it at a certain extent. The thing is that my visual kei helps my anxiety and can calm me down in a lot of situations. I really don't know what I was doing without it. For some reason, I feel like it can settle my emotions and make me more aware of my surroundings all at the same time.

So, what about you?

Depends. What do you categorize as music? Humming? Birdsong? Rain? Not very intricate, but types of music nonetheless. I could live without the music we have on the radio, but I couldn't without the others I've mentioned.

Music sometimes helps me concentrate on my work, but often I find myself skipping too much music to be productive.  I can live without music, but I am rather glad to have music.

Nope, it is my escape. Different genres for different moods, really does help when i want to get away from everything.

Yes, physically, I can live without music but if I knew it existed and it was removed (somehow) I would loose my mind. If it never existed, I wouldn't know what I was missing but I love music and a world without music isn't a world I want to live in.

Nope. My brain will feel dry and the world would feel dead to me. I hear music in public and inside of myself.

All my life needed was a sense of someplace to go. I don't believe that one should devote his life to morbid self-attention. I believe that someone should become a person like other people.

No way. I need something to hear during the day. It takes me out of reality for a bit and breaks up a boring day. What I'm essentially saying is that it is an escape, like video games, and if it were to go away, then that would be bad.

Well yeah, technically all you really need to live is food, water, and air. But I'm not going to be a stick in the mud, haha. I wouldn't want to live without music, if that's what you're asking. I listen to it every day, and for a lot of people, it's a good way to handle your emotions. I know lots of people are really emotionally attached to their music, and for some songs, I can completely relate.

Music is a good way to pass the time. Music is also used in various medias, such as movies, to foreshadow or give significance to a certain event or part in the movie. While existence without music is certainly possible, I'd rather have it. Nature is nice, but music is a creative spark of which shouldn't be extinguished. Music defines moments, history, etc.

In this world, is the destiny of mankind controlled by some transcendental entity or law? Is it like the hand of God, hovering above? At least it is true, that man has no control... Even over his own will.

Probably not. Music serves so many important functions for me. Relaxation, motivation, it helps my creativity flow, and it very often helps me if my mood is down, which sadly happens a lot.

So without music, life would be a lot more sad for me I think.

I don't think so. It would be really grey without any music (voices of people also count as music in my opinion, so I would definitely not be able to live without music).
