Have you used the Pony Creator? What do you think of it?

I don't mind it, it comes out useful to them who struggle to draw, it gives a rough example before getting a requested vector, it's quite a good way of early development and though I don't use it so much today I still find it useful for some simple tasks

so I personally find it a very useful tool for the fandom! :)

It's alright for those who already had original ideas but are not artistic enough to bring those ideas to light (like me). I didn't really go out to create an OC, I just imagined myself interacting with ponies, and through that my idea of my ponysona came before I knew about a pony creator (back in 2011). Treble Bolt didn't need any tweaks or anything in terms of color palate, but I had to get a bit more creative with the tail style (because I knew she would have a single braid for her mane, but not for the tail). It helped me bring Treble Bolt to life.

Although now I've been feeling a bit ashamed of her. It seems like everyone likes dark red and multicolored manes (can't blame them on that one). Also I've been told that the colors clash. Well, they do, because I'm limited to brighter colorations with the pony creator. Not that I want natural horse coloring, but the blue/green mane I envisioned is more like the avatar I current have. I was hoping to halfway melt the colors together, with no define place where one color ends and one starts. idk...it just seems like with all the OC's now, my is considered a "bad" one, because it isn't creative and is over the top.

Since I can't draw a straight line with two rulers, Pony Creator was pretty much essential for me to create my OC's first images with. It was also versatile enough to allow me to tweak colours and suchlike to my satisfaction and had enough options for eye and face shapes to get him the right feel. Using those images as a base, I'm able to give a good enough idea to others as to how he'd look visually, which can be helpful when asking others to draw him the old fashioned way.

so, while I wouldn't call anything made in pony creator art worthy, it is a very useful tool for generating your own ponies when you need a reference image relatively easily.

I've used it as base for my OCs a bit and if I want their mane done differently,  I will let a artist know!  I also try not to use the same color mostly or mane style!   I like the random button a bit,  its how I also found some of my OCs like Rune and Rhode!

i remember using it before i began drawing.

i don´t really like OCs, but it´s still fun to play around.

i just think that the creater should´ve used 3/4 positions instead of the sideview.

For someone like me, who can't draw stickmen right, Pony Creator is a Celestia-sent tool. I want my OC's coat to be black-blue of the wintry night sky. But his proportion either look weird or the colour saturation is wrong or something else don't feel right and I can't put my finger on it. I want my OC to be my Ponysona, so I can easily RP as him.

I always make my characters personalities close to mine as I can. But I still don't have the full grasp of ponysonas. So, he's still a WIP.

I tried using it but it wont load, anyone know what website I should be using it on?

Are you using a tablet? I dunno about others but my iPad can't see Generalzoi's Pony Creator, but my laptop can.

If you're using a PC, then I have no clue why. It should be able to load it.

I've used it before. I don't think it should be used for professional purposes, though. I don't use my OC pony creator image as my avatar, but I use a generic black and red alicorn OC that I quickly made as a joke.

I use it frequently to figure out color schemes for OCs, or to create quick character sheet for minor RP characters.

I never use it for art, because I don't like the idea of claiming somebody else's work as my own.

I tried to use PC about two years ago and I simply quit because it took far too much effort to create an OC with it, and often times the program didn't have the hair/body I wanted (I was a very lazy child). So I figured learning to draw the darn things would be faster. It wasn't, but at least I don't have to use the PC anymore. It's just... boring. Bland. Don't like it. P:

The reason people dislike PonyCreator isn't because of image quality, it's because it limits your imagination (especially when it comes to mane, tail, and eye style). It certainly doesn't have nearly everything you can think of.

Also, it's cranked out a lot of bad hybrid/novelty OCs because of all the extras, like horns, mech wings, blind or slit eyes, etc. Basically, it puts ideas into the heads of amateur OC makers. Bad ideas. Overused ideas.

Basically, pony creator is a nice game. A nice tool, but it in NO WAY should be used as an OC generator. Appearance should never come first in the creation of OCs, but PonyCreator...

Well, it's an enabler.

And that's a bad thing.

I like the game, but it's abused. I think a lot of people feel that way.

It's not the best, but it's not half bad for something of it's design.

Of course, the anatomy has issues, the mane and tail are limiting, and the posing is complete trash pretty much, but, all in all, it's a pretty decent tool. Some use it as a platform to start drawing ponies and to get inspiration, others use it to experiment with OC's or just get the basic, first draft image down before they ask others to better it.

For something that's got such a terrible rap, it actually is a valuable tool. Just not, I think, the most unique or free, considering the sorts of things that you can draw/get others to draw.
