As said, its subjective, but their useful. At this point its hardly hating a youtuber, but the act of reviewing anything >.< .

Guess you can, but its kind of dumb, reviewers can point out pretty good issues . I.e:the  game is laggy, buggy, slow paced, non in depth, has a poor AI, weak story etc.   Thats the point, they don't just say "Ok this game is shit, don't buy it". They explain their reasoning and then leave the rest up to you >.<  

 

And who says they can decide what i shall like and not like? Isn't it up to me to make that decision. Do you need your mother's food to decide what you like to eat aswell?

 

Just a bunch of sheep who can't decide for theirself on what to like. So they might aswell not play games at all or have taste for that matter.

 

 

Like i said last time, most people use reviews as a desicion whether they should buy a game full price, rent it on something on gamefly, or just wait for a sale or the price to go down. They dont rely soley on reviewers to form their opinions. I mean, seriously, you buy a game, you learn it sucks. You just wasted $60.

Ever heard of demos or youtube gameplay footage einstein. A person gives bias views that is worthless in general in reviewes, that person might aswell be a misinformed liar, which is what sheep without brain works by. Who gives a hoot about those tools to begin with

That's the reason for why I watch at least 3 reviews of a game before buying it. If 3 people agree that a game is shit then it's probably shit. If 3 people say that it's good then it's probably good.

There are hardly any demos out there anymore, and they arent representative of the released game. And if the game has a lot of bugs, you have to wait for a patch, which may not even fix the bugs or cause m ore (PC gamers are lucky because they can have unofficials patches which fix the game even if the original developers abandon the game, console gamers have no such luck). And I dont like spoilers.

 

No one is deciding what you can and cannot like. They are just expressing THEIR OPINION about the game. You dont have to agree with it. No one is forcing you to agree with their opinion. But to say they cant share why they think that the game sucks, thats censorship. And who cares if some sheeple only take the opinion of reviewers and dont form their own opinion? Not everyone is a blind like that. They look at multiple resources, multiple reviews, reviews from regular people. They compare reviews, in order to make a informed purchase. I will give a game a chance if its gameplay is not liked, because, who knows, i might like it. But if the game is broken, glitchy, im sorry, im not buying it. Developers need to stop being so lazy.

See I was a fan of his a long while ago, I rooted for him when he got his kickstarter for his game, and when he got that music video with wane brady n'stuff. He was doing so good, had a lot of potential

 

and the fact that he became a lazy 8#R%#$ who has probably STILL not released that game, who basically scammed the people who invested in him, who releases old videos over and over again to rack up views, who even had the gull to release a vid with no Sound and just said "eehh just find some enjoyment out of it" instead of, I don't know, REDOING THE VIDEO, and a slew of other lazy infuriating tactics that just show he doesn't give a flying buck about his "audience"

 

People get on Pewdiepie's case a lot, but that man raised well over a million for charity and is trying to connect to his fanbase. He may not use my kind of humor but at least I can respect him for that. Toby lost all my respect with the way he's handled his channels, and I'm not giving him any more chances.

Reviewers in terms of food are helpful to not die, a mental check is helpful to see if your body functions. A review in terms of.... entertainment... no. Absolutely not. Its subjective in what you find to your liking in terms of movies and games.

You can think for yourself what games are good or not. You don't need a person to do that for you. If thats the case then why play games at all? You might aswell just watch a guy play games or talk about them without caring for them yourself, without trying it or giving them a chance.

 

The gaming industry is fully of shady business practices. It's helpful to know from a reliable source when a game was rushed out the door, if it's full of bugs, or if it's just terrible before I spend my cash on it. You call that being a sheep. I call that being an informed consumer.

 

Additionally, If I'm not sure if a game is something that I would like, I'll watch some video of somebody playing it to help make my decision. I gravitate to certain reviewers because their taste in games lines up with my own. This is useful considering that we very rarely get demo's nowadays. Games are expensive. I can't spend 30-60$ on a shot in the dark. I want to know before hand if this particular game is up my alley.

 

You've assumed that the only reason that people are watching these reviewers is to let them think for us, when in reality those videos are tools to help us make informed decisions. This is practically the opposite of being a sheep.

 

Like I said in the other thread, just because YOU don't see the value, doesn't mean that there is none. You keep going around talking about how dumb everyone must be for liking these things that you don't like. It's silly and childish.

I don't know what shows he personally likes. But I noticed the only cartoon reviewers he goes after tend to be brony cartoon reviewers or ones with autism.

 

Yeah, he's one of those trolls that doesn't get a lot of views. I would just take what he says with a grain of salt and ignore him but he keeps popping up in videos I watch like in the comments.

 

I don't intend to.   But... seriously?  He couldn't care less about reviewers who critique other cartoons? I mean if he has a strong distaste for adults and teens liking cartoons, then he should hate on all the cartoons people watch. Liking western cartoons as an adult ain't nothin' new. A good chunk of celebrities watch cartoons for christ sake.

I cannot stand most of the Let's Play community, especially the big ones like Pewds and Markiplier. Such a luxurious life they live. Those types of people are my biggest annoyance with Youtube nowadays. Seeing their videos everywhere and their incredibly stupid titles and thumbnails..it does legit make me angry.

 

I also really don't like MrRepzion (he was pretty cool at first but has drastically gone downhill) and seeing his channel now angers me.

 

I also don't like much of the Brony Youtube community.

• DarkSydePhil: This guy is a complete dumbass. Constantly blames the game for his own mistakes, ignores directions and hints the game gives you and then complains that he doesn't know what to do, constantly expects the game to hold his hand, constantly insults his fanbase and is overall unlikable.
• PewDiePie: It's not so much Pewds himself as it is his fanbase. Extremely toxic community right there. Think it goes without saying. Also partially responsible for "YouTuber Fodder" games like Goat Simulator and all those cheap horror games.
• Markiplier: Tries way too hard to be funny, makes pretty terrible, potentially offensive jokes at that, and also partially responsible for "YouTuber Fodder" games.
• HowToBasic: Used to be funny, now his videos are just disgusting.
• Tech Of Tomorrow: Poorly researches his videos, provides average quality tech videos and then insults his fanbase when they point out his errors a la DSP, except typically with stronger language and insults.
• Game Theory: Used to be really good too. Used to provide well-researched, well-thought-out theories about video games, now most of them are just conspiracy theory-level stuff or just downright garbage (see: Final Fantasy is Anti-Religion, Video Games are Anti-LGBT.)
• The Irate Gamer: Again, tries too hard to be funny, and often lifts his jokes from the Angry Video Game Nerd. Poorly researches games (one time he said Super Mario Bros. 2 is a prequel to Super Mario Bros., I'm not kidding) and blocks people who point out his unoriginality or poor research.

Most of TheFineBros material. This is stuff like "Teens React", "Kids React", etc. It's nothing but click bait. They'll do things like show a really old electronic to a seven year old, and when they don't know what it is - "OMG WTF IS WRONG WITH THIS GENERATION!!?!???!?! 90'S KIDS FOR LIFE!!!11!".

 

"Youtubers React" is ok I guess, but I usually just don't care what they have to say.

 

 

Also, pewdiepie doesn't make me mad, but I don't really have any reason to watch him. What DOES make me mad is when people act like he is the only person on YouTube that matters.

ReviewTechUSA. I don't know what it is about him, but every time my friend sends me one of his videos, I get pissed off.

He tends to have sort of condescending tone in his videos which is also a bit off-putting to me, but generally I think he's okay.

 I think he once said he was in his 30s. But in any case, I think PC focused Youtubers bashing consoles is a common thing though.

For Markiplier, I found that after about early 2014, much of his reactions appear purposefully exaggerated to me. But for offensive jokes, I can't say that's really fair because anything could be considered offensive and he should be given more leniency because he's saying things without any script; he's just having fun and is not actually trying to degrade anyone. And I think the good outweighs the bad because he does raise quite a bit of money in his charity livestreams.

 

As for HowToBasic, I agree that his videos used to be funny but then became very stupid... in an unappealing way.
