I was just wondering how many people that are currently on the forums were brony haters before becoming a brony. I have included a poll, and If you answered yes, then please explain how you got into the show in the first place. Thanks!

I was never an Anti-Brony. In fact before I joined the fandom, I did not know what a Brony is and I was mostly focused on Coin Collecting at the time.

Eh, I was neutral towards it before I watched the show. But I think now some people would even compare me to an anti-brony with what I joke around with from time to time. I mean the show is cool, but some parts of the fandom make me cringe hard.

Eh, kind of. I was a lot younger, (Like 6-7) and assosiated grown men watching children's shows with child murderers... for some reason. I don't think I'd ever actually been told that so I probably saw it on the internet and my gullible self believed it. Also I was super tomboyish and didn't like to assosiate myself with "Girl Stuff".

However, after seeing tons of stuff on how good the show was, I decided to watch it and I loved it!

No male pronouns, please. All other pronouns are fine. :)

I was never a brony hater, I had three best friends who were bronies and I wouldn't of wanted to lose them :P

I was a very reluctant brony, it took a year for my friends to convert me :P

I've been getting more into writing fanfics, mainly MLP since it has such a deep pool of creativity to pull from.

I'm good with character and story concepts, so if you need help with a fanfic or something feel free to Private message me

But don't be hurt if I have to decline if I'm tapped out for a bit. Otherwise I'm fairly good at it just sometimes I have to let my mind subconsciously think of some ideas.

I am the same way. Things like The Living Tombstone make me happy. I think you know what makes me, and probably you, cringe. Not judging though.

I knew it was there but I didn't know about the fandom, I always referred back to my childhood for reference. The image I always got was the My Little Pony theme song for Generation 3 and 4 that would come up on the TV trying to sell product. Looking back on it all now it would've probably drove me insane if I had to watch the old ads today.

As much as I am ashamed to admit, I was indeed an anti-Brony. I was almost 11 when the show started airing. Upon hearing about Bronies, I thought nothing of it. But I bought into a lot of bullcrap that the mainstream media was spewing out (especially Fox News, being raised in a conservative household).

So, I very much disliked Bronies. I thought that they were fangirling over a lame girls' show, and I thought I was automatically superior to them.

Over 4 years, I would see a bunch of MLP-related content. It made me livid, as I'm sure you all know, for absolutely no reason. But one day, I was looking through uploads of hoffy1138 (a favorite YTP YouTuber of mine). Several of his YTP's were MLP YTP's. I was stuck. I decided, "Well, if he can sit through this to make a YTP of it, then I can take the time to watch that YTP."

So I watched it. And I loved it. So I watched the rest. They were all hilarious, and got me very curious about the actual story (since it being a YTP, the context was far from clear). I was not, however, interested enough to find out. I left those videos, and soon forgot about them.

A little while after, I found a remix of Endless Possibility and Helping Twilight Win The Crown. I recognized Twilight in the thumbnail, and almost decided to skip it. However, I loved Endless Possibility, and wanted to see what it could become when remixed with something else. And I loved it.

That got me curious again, so I searched Twilight Sparkle on YouTube. Two videos stood out. A cute little Owl City PMV and an animated short which I believe is called Twilight's Special Message. The latter video confused me greatly. I decided to steer away from MLP stuff.

Finally, when Pewdiepie played the Luna Games, I said to myself. "Screw it. I'm watching an episode." Once more, I found myself on YouTube. Only now, I couldn't find any episodes! All the episodes I found had been removed. Frustrated, I scoured social media for anything MLP related. I found a link to The Living Tombstone remix of Nightmare Night. Why not? So I listened to it. And I loved it.

I spent the next few months diving into Brony artwork, music, videos, and much much more. Until finally, that fateful day, when I heard that the season 5 premiere had been uploaded to YouTube. I had already considered myself a Brony by that time, but I was upset at the fact I had never watched an episode. So I searched it up. I watched it.

And I loved it.

Kind of? I mean the first thing I have seen was PFUDOR by Flufflepuff which was connected to the pony stuff. Back than I was just laughing and didn't know that bronies were exist but when I decided to watch the actual show for the first time in my own language I kinda hated it.

No, I used to troll anti bronies before I joined, it was mainly on Gmod though, where quite a lot of bronies frequented on my usual servers.

I didn't even know anti-bronies were a thing until after I became a fan of the show, and the fact that it was a show originally intended for little girls didn't really strike me, for some reason... I liked what I saw, and that was all that mattered.

I was never a hater. I was a bit confused, and I told myself I wasn't going to watch it, but I caved after like 6 months after I watched a YTP before watching Bridle Gossip, saying "This isn't half bad", then I watched two more episodes, It's about time, and One Bad Apple. Then I watched the entire series from start to finish.

I thought the whole Brony thing was laughable, but I definitely wasn't an anti-Brony.

If anything, I was curious as to why adults would watch a show for little kids in the first place.

Then I decided to find out for myself what the big deal was, and it all gets a little fuzzy after that.

Just to set the record straight, just because you disagree or dislike bronies and MLP, doesn't mean you're a hater or anti-brony. Haters show a very high sense of loathing and disgust for the show. A lot of the anti folks while sharing some similar sentiments, don't outright hate the show, but just show no interest or disagree with the show and the fandom. I've known several people like that and for the most part, they're respectable and nice and show no malice towards me for liking the show.

So please let's not go grouping people together, and creating needless turmoil and bad rep. I've seen too much of that already with overzealous fans picking fights and trying to push their agenda.

As for myself, I wasn't really a hater. Sure I thought the show was girly, but I just never understood it. So one night over at my cousin's my brother and I watched one of the first episodes just to see what it was all about. He wasn't interested but after a few episodes the show caught my interest, so I gave it a chance and eventually grew to respect and even like it. I follow the show to see how it progresses moreso than I do as a devout fan, but like many there are aspects of the show I personally enjoy a lot.

I have to admit I was an anti brony, this would have been years ago :( :( for a couple of years I forgot what brony was until recent when I started watching the show :) :) I love the show and I am sorry to those ponies I picked on :( :( This fandom is awesome and I am proud to be a brony :) :) :)

It was 2011 when I first heard about boys in my cousin's class liking and writing My Little Pony fan fiction. We laughed our asses off and never thought about it since, though I never thought that a year later I would like the show...

I'll just say this: My opinion of the Brony fandom was much more positive before I joined this community than it is now.
