Baba Yaga, all the way. She use a mortar for transportation, wields a pestle as a weapon, and lives in a hut that has the legs of a chicken. And she doesn't sparkle, so there's that.

Surprised Werewolves are so popular, I'd have put my money on Vampires. Then again they have been on a downhill trend after the blunder that was Twilight.

I think it's quite hard to get any monster movie "right" these days, that is without going overboard with X,Y, or Z element.

I'll say my fav Western monster in the classic sense is the werewolf given the more folklore history it has and such,  if I go East,  I'll stick with the Yokai of Japan/Nippon!

Ghosts! Spooky ghosties. While they are kinda tired out in most horror nowadays they can still be quite creepy and unnerving when done right. I love the concept of 'fear of the unknown' in horror and ghosts can do that best. :3
