Anyone remember the show? If so, then you've also remembered playing trading cards before, especially with the introduction of Pendulum, XYZ and Synchro cards, especially with the site Dueling Network (which is notorious for cheaters, but half of them contain well-skilled and respected players) for dueling others. :squee:

To be honest...I have never liked the series. I didn't watch a whole lot of it but from what I did see, it seemed that every single battle was the same. Bad guy is winning, good guy does something cool then starts to win, then bad guy does something even better and starts to win, which then leads the hero to do one last big attack to win it. Rinse and repeat, is what I saw. It became tiring.

Just f*ck the 4Kids version. The original version is far more better and takes the viewers more seriously.

By the way, 4Kids also removed texts in the series, even when it's English.

Japan, where Yo-Kai Watch's second movie has more success than The Force Awakens :umad:

That pretty much describes every battle in every shonen anime series ever, haha.

That being said, I love the original Yu-Gi-Oh! series and GX as well. Honestly, I think it's the ultimate advertisement for the TCG.

I actually watched this when it premiered. Bought the cards like crazy. When I was young, I searched pack after pack for this gem:

Being the kid I was, I thought the show was awesome. Great artwork, fun battles. I skimped out part way through GX. Cause at that point I was growing out of it. Though it turns out I skimped out just when things were getting serious. Came back in during 5D's but left after the Dark Signers saga ended. I've been told Zexal & the one that came after it were pretty good. A lot more serious.

As for the games, well my friends and I played them for the better part of a decade. I lost. A lot. I think the format was to blame, as we'd end up doing massive 10 way duels. But I pretty much stopped playing altogether as I was getting older and the players were getting younger. It was awkward. That and they were all pokemon players. And I couldn't even play that since they tweaked all the rules and stats and made all my old cards obsolete.

One of these days I may give the original unedited and unaired series a go. But until then, I've always got Yu-Gi-Oh abridged.

I prefer the manga, but it was the show that got me into the cards.  We still have *goes to consult his meticulously kept list* one thousand five hundred eleven Yu-Gi-Oh! cards (not counting the ones that were purchased solely for play).

I don't think I have actually watched much of the original anime outside of parts of a few episodes at best.

I have seen some of GX and possibly a super small amount of 5Ds.

But I do remember watching that one movie where the first 3 main characters have a crossover.

I watched all the original series episodes and enjoyed it. I've watched most of GX, which I liked. I haven't really seen 5Ds, but it looks cool. Zexal seemed weird, but that's it for me in terms of the show.

I still have my cards, which is a mix of old and new.

I love the show though i mainly watched GX. I mainly loved the trading card game despite never having cards of my own. I would always play on dueling network or when i was younger, a old program called Yugioh online 3 before it shut down.

I no longer play the trading card game since Pendulum because that stuff confuses me XD... and it seems super OP being able to summon 5 monsters in a single turn. I found it to be worse with dueling network when people use Pendulum because i have no idea what they just did.

I used to be so addicted. I even had a duel disk. It was great. Also for some reason my school is having a yugioh tournament next month so I might get back into it.

I loved the show and I remember watching it all the way to the end of the 5D's series. I had a couple decks at when playing the TCG. They were: XYZ Dragon Cannon deck, full warrior deck with Gilford the Lightning, Elemental Heroes, a Gravekeeper deck, and a deck based all around Stardust Dragon. My favorite series is 5D's and I played a bit of Dueling Network a couple times back then.

Seeing as people are talking about decks, I like to run off-the-wall decks that most people don't think about (and aren't prepared  for). My favourite is my Number spam wind-ups deck.I've popped 6 XYZ monsters in one turn with that deck and my opponent rage-quitted on me...

But I frickin hate Exodia/instant win (except final countdown, I respect people who can pull that off), OTK/FTK decks (Why duel if there's no challenge?), When people try to use the anime effects instead of the actual card effect (that was a big problem when orichalcos came out), and people saying a card is ban in advanced format duels on dueling network (and I'm like "If it's ban how did I get it in here?").

(Sorry for the rant)

And OT: Zexal is my favourite in the series.

I used to be a really big fan of Yu-Gi-Oh when I was 10-12 years old.

I love Yu-Gi-Oh! I played religiously as a kid and watched all of the anime series. Then I had a falling out with it. But once decade duels was released on the Xbox 360 my love of the game was rekindled and now I currently play the game once again. And couldn't be more excited about the new film supposedly debuting this year.
