I'll bump this up by saying I would cheer my favorite pony up saying that's it's not alone and that living creature has its strengths, its flaws, and its purpose in the world. I would as much love and kindness as much as possible. And then wrap it all up in one giant hug.

I wouldn't. I would find a way to make them angry and piss them off to no end. 

Anger is the fastest way out of depression & sadness. You get pretty motivated when enraged.

If I didn't know the situation, I'd probably just try and talk the situation out with her, fly around a bit with her, maybe hug her, let her cry on my shoulder (or use me as a punching bag), whatever it took to get the negative feelings out of her. Because I can't stand to see her sad.

I'd attempt to comfort her, but I won't expect to successfully do so. She wouldn't even know me, so that would make her feel uncomfortable.
