What if lauren faust saved the show

Ok. I don't know about you but season six has mostly been quite bad in my opinion. It seems that all of the staff who makes FIM good have either left the franchise or left FIM to work on the movie. From what i have seen, mlp is going downhill. Viewers are down and although i generally liked season 5, i found that i either loved or hated the episodes and there was no middle ground. Season six is following that but in a more extreme way. I think hasbro need to bring in/rehire some former staff who used to work on FIM. I think they might bring in Lauren Faust again. She originally left because it was mainly a merchandise based show and didn't have the creative freedom she had on other shows. They may bring her in on a temporary basis or as a creative director just to point the show in the right direction. What do you think?

Number 1: The show going downhill is simply your opinion. Sorry that you don't think it's as good as it used to be, but that doesn't mean other people (including myself) don't love the show anymore and don't like the direction it's going. If you really hated episodes from season 5 and you somehow hate season 6 even though only about 5 episodes have aired so far, I recommend taking a break from the show.

Number 2: Bringing old staff isn't going to automatically "save the show". I personally didn't really like Lauren Faust on FiM too much. The episodes she wrote were pretty weak tbh. The only amazing thing she did was create the characters, the world they live in, and other concepts of the show. What else is she supposed to do now? In my opinion, the show got better when she left. I like the newer seasons of MLP, but that's just me. I think all the writers are doing a good job with MLP right now and I doubt Hasbro can just rehire old writers with the snap of a finger. We still have good writers, so what's the problem here?

TL;DR - The show doesn't need saving, imo.

I can only say one thing to that.

Back in the day, the show wasn't better then now. We where just young bronies and we just enjoyed the ride.

Well if you feel the show is going downhill for you, either take a break or stop watching. There's no need to continue to torture yourself. I personally think the show got better after Faust left. People will throw praise onto Lauren Faust and season 1 in general like she wrote every episode when in reality she only wrote two and a half, and the episodes weren't exactly phenomenal.

And bringing her back won't save the show. From what I've heard, she had a different idea for a direction for the show so sticking her in will probably just confuse her.

Personally, I think the show is going downhill for maybe half of the fandom. The other half seems to like it. Plenty of people hate season 6 but there are still people who loves it, including me (haven't watch the latest so can't really say). So I guess it depends on people.

Sometimes a tv show can get worst as new episodes comes out. Not saying MLP:FiM is getting worst or not, but I am not sure if bringing older crew will help. Though I do prefer Lauren Faust.

So I am also thinking, maybe it just need a new generation or a spin off thing. At the most the series need a break for the people behind to refresh their minds and get better ideas.

But I do agree, the show is definitely going downhill.

That's just your opinion man.

You don't necessarily need to continue watching the show if Season 6 in your words, has mostly been quite bad to you. Opinions aside, Lauren Faust has no intention of returning back to the show or even the writing staff for that matter. The show doesn't need saving if you ask me.

So far, season six isn't bad. There's been three good episodes, one mediocre (Gift of Maud Pie), and one terrible (No Second Prances). This doesn't mean the show needs anyone who used to work on it to return and "save" it. As important as Faust was, she was part of a team that helped build FIM, and bringing her back doesn't guarantee it'll improve.

Contrary to the belief of some, Faust did not have a long term vision for this show. She wanted to end it at season 3. That is a very typical 'kids show' concept and it is one I am happy did not come to fruition.

The show is fine. There are some things I have personal gripes with but that aren't huge gripes and that's all they are, personal gripes.

Season Six is fine overall. I do admit it has yet to drop that one episode that is on the same level of sheer brilliance found in Lost Mark, Sisterhooves, Amending Fences, Suited for Success, etc. That certainly doesn't mean it is bad. The episodes have been enjoyable and I am not bored by them.

I haven't seen the latest episode yet ... so maybe that will change my opinion.

Either way, as much as I admire Faust ... the team still has quality staff. I'm sure we haven't seen the last Grand Slam the show has to offer. :)

Well, that's more of a personal opinion rather than fact. Back in those days we were attracted to a new and colorful world, but nowadays, we know it like the palm of our hands, and that influences on how we perceive the show later on. I don;t think it's doing bad, just slow

let me rephrase (slightly), on average viewers are down. also, have you noticed all of the threads saying "is the fandom dying?". if you look at the facts, bronycon recorded its lowest groth in its history, merchandise sales are slowly going down and even sethisto agreed the peak was in 2012-2013. this isn't a "the fandom is dying" thread but most of these factors are generally derived from the show's quality declining.

The viewership goes down, because MLP is on a channel that barely anybody watches and most people watch it over the internet anyway. TV is dying, because barely anybody watches TV these days.

The sales for the toys are still doing good. Infact, i heard that they went up 20% in the last 4 months.

What Seth is saying, is also just another opinion, just like yours. His opinion dosen't weight more, just because he is the admin of EQD.

So no, you can say that it's a fact all you want. The quality is not declining.
