Expensive phones are dumb af when a a10 to a50 is all most folks really need. Oh the prices and loans people will pay for status lol

exactly, I litterally have always just got used apart from my current phone,

I usually could deal with buying a phone for would be about 100£ (around 115€, 125$)... unless I got a good deal on a phone that is worth more (like £25 (30$, 28€)) per month

Using Samsung and Apple is the epitome of fashion over function and would usually advise not buying one (even people who I used to recommend an iPhone I'd now recommend just buy an Oppo or a Huawei)

Do the research and get the best phone you can with great camera and battery life

Yep Samsung and iPhones are like the Nike of the phone world! Paying for name and a "flagship"

yeah, like before more Chinese phones came over I would have recommended a used iPhone to someone who didnt really know how to use technology (like a granny or something like that) and wanted something just because of the simplicity, but now I'd advise no-one buy an iPhone if they want a good phone because chinese phonrs usually have the simplicity of an iPhonr but are better and cheaper

Samsung I would stay away from like the plague

And the new android Nokia phones I would avoid because of the shit quality of them

If anyone is buying an Android phone it would be a good idea to get an Android one phone. Faster and guaranteed updates for 2y. I own a redmi note 5a

my phone is android one... still hasnt got android 10 (my phone came out in September 2019) though Android 1 is amazing, you really should just focus on having a phone that works decently and has a decent battery and camera, and the security updates are usually available for well over 2 years cause even android 1 isnt as reliable as most think

After over six years of iPhone 6 (it was showing its age, certainly), I finally was able to upgrade to iPhone 11 last summer. After so long, it's so weird having an actual modern phone that can do more intensive stuff like games without crashing lol

Samsung Galaxy S8+
a very shit phone, incredibly buggy, and the USB-C port thinks there's water in it regularly (even when it's not even exposed to moisture)
I'll be upgrading to an iPhone SE 2020 as soon as I can afford one second hand (along with lightning accessories since I have an android so no apple chargers)

I have an iPhone 11, I love it, but one of these days I might wanna get one of the newer Samsung phones.

honestly I'd steer clear, most samsungs, as well as nokia and google branded phones, are incredibly buggy, where the camera will glitch out or the keyboard will just stop responding, then delete your message, or make a ton of multiple presses,
Plus the most recent samsung's cameras are appauling in my experience, like somehow they've gotten more grainy
That's just my recommendation and my experience though

iPhone 11. Was about to buy a 12, but once I’ve noticed the 11, I went for it. I don’t need the very latest model, even though I could afford it as well. Paid almost 300$ less. I expect this guy will last for at least 2 years more

I currently own a iPhone 7, which I had since December 2019.

I'm hoping for a new phone tho because my 7 is having trouble charging which is really beginning to annoy me. I'm hoping for a iPhone XR, Samsung Galaxy A32, Galaxy S20 or even a Moto G Power 2021.

I hope I'll get a newer and smaller phone as I hate those gigantic phones since they're way too big for my hands and couldn't fit in my pockets.

and oof I forgot to mention that I might get a Alcatel flip phone when I get a little older 😅 I want that phone in case my smartphone dies, or for emergencies or could use it as a second phone heh.
