Robots?

A. because they're cooler and way better than zombies

B. because zombies need brains and robots don't have flesh

What types of robots and zombies are we talking about?  Modern day robots?  They would not have a chance because they don't have any defense systems and would just run out of power after a while.

Robots would win because a zombie's main mode of attack is traditionally its bite. If a zombie bites a robot it would only bust what teeth it has left in its rotting head. And let's face it, zombies aren't exactly known for being robust, well-built specimens, so if a robot took a swipe at one, it would probably just crumble into a puddle of blood and goo. The robot on the other hand is probably made of metal and could have any number of weapons against attackers. Even if it was slow and cumbersome, it doesn't take a lot of agility for a robot to take down a zombie.  :orly:

A rotting corpse biting solid metal wouldn't exactly end well for said rotting corpse. Plus, robots would deal with literally zero side effects of the zombies bites and whatnot. Robots would just laser beam all of them afterwards.

Terminator dominates Zombie Apocalypse hands down. If we are talking a robot army vs Zombies its not even a contest, they don't stand a chance against the metal legion.

Hey, what about L4D zombies?

A tank could probably crush most robots, so could a charger, a witch could rip through its metal no doubt, a spitter could corrode them, a boomer explosion could probably do a lot of damage, etc!

It really depends on the type of robots and zombies, this is broad. Most often you'd see people betting on the robot side rather than the zombie one because... well... for one they are capable of much more than a zombie normally can and they are made out of metal, where zombies have rotten teeth that can easily break on impact with the robot's plating. Now if you're talking about infected types of zombies, like Left 4 Dead 1 and 2, that would be an interesting match as they are able to run and withstand much damage before going down, most notably the Tank one(for obvious reasons.) Then on that matter it'd depend on who the robots are and how well programmed they are. And the equipment.

Basically... it's subjective but I'd side with robots most of the time.

Robots. Built from sturdier stuff. Metal > Flesh. They'll last longer cause zombies degrade more and more each day with each movement + environmental degradation. Zombies can be worn away in weeks. Even days. At best 5 years. The best Robots can go for far longer.  Surprisingly, Zombies and Robots are of Equal intelligence. Both are essentially machines. It's just that Robots have more information and function to them, while zombies just walk, bite and moan.

Now I hear things like Left 4 Dead & Resident Evil zombies. Well if we're upping that ante, why not pit them against Ultron, Metal Sonic, the Robot Masters, the Cylons & the Decepticons?

Robots think and plan using processors which run several millions (possibly billions) of computations per sec. Zombies trundle towards the nearest noise and act on impulse.

Leave alone the fact robots could manufacture themselves into platforms capable of dispatching zombies easily, but also the fact they can think and strategize puts them at a great advantage.

Robots would win for pretty obvious reasons. I mean without biological hosts, zombies can't multiply. Plus, the metallic components of robots would be rather hard for a zombie to dismantle even with their massive, almost superhuman strength.

Robots will pwn Zombies cause Zombies can’t chew through metal. Their teeth will break if they dare to do so. Zombies are Flesh-Eaters so encountering an entity like a Robot is going to be a problem for them. Since the Robot has the potential to be equipped with many arsenals and tactical know-hows on how to eliminate anything efficiently. Doesn’t matter if there are mass swarms of Zombies ganging up on one Robot. They might not have the strength to rip off a Robot into pieces. One Robot can potentially kill an entire swarm of Zombies since they can be tactically equipped with everything they have to dispose the swarm. That and Robots can just self-destruct if they lose to the Zombies as a fail-safe mechanism.

Would zombies even sense or pay any attention to robots? Most sterotypical zombies seem to have a one track mind that dictates to seek out the flesh of the living. Unless of course they are used as thralls by some mad necromancer in their elaborate scheme. :mlp_blink:

A robot wouldn't even have to be all that powerful. If Zombies hunt by scent, well, they wouldn't even notice a robot. If the robot was say, A Terminator, said robot would mow through a hoard of zombies like a lawn mower through grass. No contest. Robots would win hands down. This doesn't even take into account non-humanoid robots. A tank controlled by an AI would just roll over the zombies. An AI drone would strafe them. We're talking thousands of brain shots a minute!

Lets see.. brainless humans depending on their device and having their eyes clued on it 24/7.. I think the “robot” have already won.
