At the time of writing this, the finale is airing in the UK on TinyPop. "Where the apple lies" was cancelled yesterday, so I hoped they wouldn't show the finale... but they are, the absolute madmen.

 

In case you live in the UK and can watch it, I guess it'd be good to have a topic for discussing the episode for you. It's only the first half of the finale, though.

 

The voices are sped up because of PAL, if you're wondering.

 

Also, if this is against some rule I've forgotten about, please remove this. The finale isn't an unofficial leak, though, so I don't see anything wrong with starting this thread.

This is the first finale written by 2 writers. I like part 1 so much, I hope part 2 can be the same or even better.

 

What I wish is another Status Quo Breaker, but I think it wont happen yet (jugding from part 1 alone). Can those combo writers beat some veteran writers of this show? Let see about that.

It was alright, give an overall thought when the second part is released. But right now, the plot to the episode has a significant amount of inconsistencies.

So...it's safe to talk about here? I'll put my reaction behind a spoiler just to be safe.

I couldn't resist watching the stream and....wow. That was the BEST THING EVER!!  If part 2 is as good as part 1 then it may very well be my favorite season finale (currently Twilight's Kingdom holds that title)! So Chrysalis and the changelings are the big bads in this one, I knew it! I'm curious as to how they gained enough power to capture not one but FOUR alicorn princesses plus the the mane 5, Spike, Shining Armor and...Flurryheart. I have a theory that she may be the reason but we'll see. I've never been a big fan of Starlight but I do like her friendship with Trixie and (maybe because of that) she's growing on me. Gah! Speaking of which, Trixie is great in this! I love all the attention and character development she's been getting. Thorax! Yes! I KNEW he would be in this finale, I mean it would've been pretty disappointing if he wasn't. I find the change in his wings to be interesting...crystal magic, power of friendship...or maybe some kind of metamorphosis? All hail King Thorax? No I doubt that, but I do have a feeling it'll play a part in the next episode one way or another. Then there's Discord, my favorite character! I may or may not have made a stupid fan dork squee when he appeared, haha. So my dream team for Starlight's little band of ex-villains came true.  Discord's reaction to finding out Fluttershy was taken is priceless (and those eyes!), I'm not a romantic shipper but their friendship is one of my favorite things in the show and a situation like this is something I've been hoping for. So yes, overall...10/10! The only bad thing is having to wait for the second part. I need MOAR!!  :=:  Thankfully I have a busy day ahead of me so (maybe) the hours will tick by faster.

PS: Derpy as a mailmare was too adorable for words!!

Oh my god, I just saw the first part and I must say I'm super duper hyped!

 

Man, I knew Queen Chrysalis would be the villain and I just knew the Changelings would kidnap the Mane 6 and all the princesses including Shining Armor and Flurry Heart! Best thing ever. I must watch the second part tomorrow at 9 AM when it airs for me! (Or 5:30 PM if I miss the 9 AM one)

And I really like that they got Discord, Thorax and Trixie teamed up with Starlight. I actually expected those (minus Spike and Ember), and I can't wait to see how they handle the whole thing. I also expected Discord to be in it for Fluttershy being kidnapped.

Hmm, I wonder what kind of effect the Alicorn Amulet would have on Chrysalis? She's not a pony but she still has a magical horn, so it might make her very powerful AND more evil than she already is. That would be a pretty awesome throwback to have it used in the finale with Trixie being present as well!

I was thinking of Twilight when it comes to leader ponies and not Celestia, though he's close to the sun goddess as well, too. (Doesn't matter, says a little voice in my head - he's shipped with Twilight as well. XD )

 

Spike: "Oh, all I ever did was pine away for love when I was young, and now I'm in three relationships at once with the leaders of the free world. Life is sooo hard!"

 

Sure it is, Spike. Sure it is....  

 

I was a bit disappointed (but not surprised) Spike got captured because now I don't know how Starlight is going to know about Ember and employ her help. It would be really disappointing if she doesn't become a member of her little team of those who have seen the light of friendship.

The mystery is now solved -- Queen Chrysalis is the main villain of the finales of both Seasons 2 and 6. And Thorax (one character I do not want to see in Season 7, the other is Trixie) is against her!

 

By tomorrow, we'll finally know what will happen in the second part of the whole story, and hope for an ending that requires a continuation of the series.

Only God Megahn can do that  . I doubt Josh or Mike can deal with Discord without "MY NEWFOUND POWERRRRRRRRRRRRRRR COMPEL YOUUUU". Maybe Chrysalis has learn some new tricks since her last defeat, maybe i'm wrong.

I still think Chrysalis used some sort of sneak attack to catch the Royal Family and the Mane Six by surprise, since she did it during the time Starlight was out of Ponyville visiting her old village. At least Luna had enough strength to resist being taken herself to warn Starlight of the situation before she was finally captured.

 

With Starlight, Discord, Thorax, and Trixie going to the Changeling Kingdom to save five Alicorn Princesses, one Unicorn Prince, the Elements of Harmony, and Spike, there's still the matter of how to get the infiltrated Changelings impersonating the Mane Six and the Royal Family out of Ponyville, Canterlot, and the Crystal Empire...

 

Sounds like a job for Rutherford, Ember, Gilda, and their forces. The Changeling infiltrators won't stand a chance against those allies.
