Ugh. For the world, it would be a 3/10. Too much horrible shit happened. Celebrities deaths, Orlando shootings, Donald Troll becoming president, bombing attack in Belgium and Nice, Zika virus, stupid clown pranks etc. For me and my friends and family I guess it wasn't too bad. 7/10.

 

Instead of saying "happy new year" when the clock strikes twelve midnight at new years eve, i'll be saying "you won't be missed 2016!"

One massively good thing people seem to overlook:
Pokémon Go came out this year.

And more:
Dicaprio finally won an Oscar.
The number of Tigers, Pandas, and Manatees started going up.
State of Cali' is evidently very proud of the fact that they're powering six mil' or so homes with solar power.

Heart Disease deaths are down by 70% in the U.S. alone.
It was announced that the U.S. will be replacing Andrew Jackson with Harriet Tubman on the 20 dollar bill.

I spent the majority of 2016 homeless, so yeah, I'd say it sucked. And golly gee, Trump's gonna be our next President, so I don't have high hopes for the next four years.

I say its waaaay better than last year and we had good advancements in the world medience, games released this year were f-ing  awesome along with movies. I would say even with politics and everything added to the equation I would rate it

If I had to rate it, I think I'd go with a ten out of twelve doctors.
I'm not sure how one could sum up an entire planet's existance with a simple number.
Even if only over the course of one out of many... many years.

This year was truely the biggest year for me as I have evolved tons through my mind workings and thinking. But still it was also the year of death as not only did several celebrities pass away but also three closely related people died aswel.

It's definitely 5-10 and I can honestly call it the universal year as everything happened good and bad.

   5/10, half of the years was good, the remaining has been lousy. The good that occurred was Zootopia, the Jungle Book, my brother coming home from the army, spending the summer with my family, moving to Fredericksburg, Texas, my first fursona completed and my 30th birthday. The bad that occurred, was strep throat with an ear infection, my father became a curmudgeonly scrooge, the rise of populist authoritarianism with national collectivism, celebrity deaths, and environmental decline. It's at times like these we must be reminded who we truly are, no matter what obstacle we are presented, we all must have the courage and integrity to succeed, we are all unique individuals with similar goals, as long as we are focused on improvement, and phasing out what is obsolete, so use your freedom wisely.

Personally?  Probably a 5/10, I've really grown a lot this past year so I guess that's a positive?

 

For everything else?  It's been terrible, too many celebrity deaths, a crappy election for the states and just a terrible stuff that's been going on too.  This year has taken so much out of people, I hope it improves with 2017, unless that year wants a piece of us too  ...

For me personally, it was a really good year up to the point where Trump was elected. Then things got pretty dark. but they're dark for 2017 and on, not 2016 (I speak only for myself when I say that, because some people have already been harassed or worse. I'm fortunate to not be among them).

 

I've probably went on about this before, but I'll say it again:

 

Instead I get to see 2016 as a year of happiness, renewal. It mostly started in fall of 2015, but things really started moving earlier this year. 2015 before the last few months was a very depressing year where a lot of things I had held dearly onto faded away. It was a very painful year. The end of 2015 and 2016 brought positive changes, along the lines of which I'd never thought I'd ever experience.

 

I got to learn the oboe. Oddly enough I got back into school for music playing that instrument. In 2013 I had given up on ever going back to school, especially for music. I wasn't good enough, I wasn't feeling good anymore. I could not make it happen anymore. So I resigned back to my overnight job, in hopes to find value in social life and money/objects carrying my life forward. My social life had become very rocky over the years. In late 2015 after a very odd culmination of events going straight back to 2013 before I even dropped out, I met an oboe teacher who would change my mind. Earlier this year she even got me to go audition. And do a recital, which boosted my confidence. I got back into college, moved out. I also have my own precious dog, now. One of the most painful experiences of 2015 was losing a dog that was very dear to me. He had come into my life right when everything else was going south. When he passed away, I really wanted to, too. Of course, he can not be replaced. But here in 2016 I found a dog who really needed my love and attention in her life, and I needed her, too. So, you know.

 

Also in 2016 I finally moved on from my ex. 2015 was such a drama-filled year. I could not take it anymore. She treated me like a great friend one second and ignored me the next. All of this leading to her eventually ignoring me altogether with no explanation. I'm sure she has her reasons. But I don't need that in my life. And I'm happy to have finally come to that recognition.

 

So 2016 was an amazing year for me personally. On a less personal scale it wasn't a very good year. Lots of people died from completely unnecessary violence and now we have a nightmare coming into office as the president of the USA, who has already appointed a number of the worst people one could possibly find for each cabinet position. This will effect me personally, and I am very scared... But I'm going to be comforted by everything else that took place in my life for now.

A small loan of a million stupid things. However, this might just be because I succambe (is that a word?) to depression near the end and I started seeing everything in a negative light (y'know, without spamming about how sad my life is in my status updates). Generally this year mostly had people worrying about the future of the United States, memes that overstayed their welcome, not that many noteworthy new pieces of media and just an overall more pessemistic feel to it.
