I couldn't catch this episode when it debuted due to other plans for that Saturday, but I was able to watch it via other sources, so I can still voice my thoughts about it.

It was nice to see Prince Rutherford and his kind again, this time as Pinkie was invited to their land to take part in one of their traditional celebrations. I think I understand where Rutherford was going when he refused to resort to asking the Mane Six for help. He didn't want himself or his yaks to look weak in straight-up asking for help. He wanted Pinkie to understand that even if the yaks don't ask for help, that doesn't mean she should still get it for them, even if it was without being asked first. Rutherford didn't want to look weak, but when Pinkie failed to get the meaning of his message across, he had to resort to revoking her honorary yak status to convince her to get the Mane Six anyway. Once she did and helped clear up the avalanche, he was pleased and restored her honorary yak status.

Great episode for Pinkie and Rutherford with how close they are as friends after Rutherford's debut back in Season 5, so I'll give it a 9.5/10 for my rating.

Sorry for the late reply for the latest episode threads while I was busy in months, so welcome back to Yayakistan for the second time since "Party Pooped" episode, Pinkie Pie! But the first time she visited Yayakistan, she felled off. She asked for help with the yaks in Yayakistan, and with the help from the Mane 6 ponies, everything is fixed for the yaks without snow cover because they stomped harder and too much have caused an avalanche. As I would say to them: Be nice, yaks!

Since the last time I watched this episode, I believe this is an excellent episode!

While you do have a point about helping someone who says they don't want help, that is just way too heavy of an interpretation of the moral here (in my opinion). Try this metaphor. Last October, when hurricane Matthew wrecked through, the following day, the people that had chainsaws were out clearing roads, and helping neibors with fallen trees in their yards. People with large deep freezers full of meat, fearing it would go bad with no electricity, began barbecuing, and inviting everyone in the neiborhood, others would join bringing corn, and other food. I had a large tarp I use when camping, I let someone nail it to their roof to cover a hole until it could be properly repaired. Nobody asked for anyone else's help. Nobody needed to. That's just what neibors, and communities do after a natural disaster. Even in preparation for a potential area is expecting severe weather, or fires areas not affected, will send crews, and resources to help cities that are. Towards the end, Prince Rutherford, says something along the line of, friends that you don't have to ask to help are the best kind. (I inferred from this that a good friend will help without having to be asked. However, Prince Rutherford's rejection of Pinkies offer to help earlier in the episode seems to be a direct contradiction to that). Maybe it was just the "natural disaster" nature of the episode that leads my thinking that direction.

 Yes! I totally did too!!

I got the same vibe from it, I think Rutherfords issue was not with their needing help or even accepting it the problem was in asking for it. It's why every single time Pinky approached him about asking the ponies for help he refused but when they just showed up and did it he thanked them and rewarded Pinky. She showed she understood Yak culture where if you can help someone you just do it and they don't need to ask. They're a proud warrior people and asking for help say's your not strong enough, not good enough, not Yak enough to survive on your own on the other hand if a friend or neighbour happens to have some spare time, a shovel and wants to do some exercise by shovelling that snow off your head well that's a different matter. You didn't need their help as you're a storng yak who could have just waited it out but since they helped you by getting you out sooner they're a good friend and you'll thank them for the help anyway. Its the same here asking for help is admitting the yak's can't manage things on their own, thanking the ponies for helping without being asked is just good yak manners. All a matter of perspective or maybe I'm just a little warped. I'm sort of the same if you give me a present on my birthday I feel its sort of obligated, even worse if you ask if I want something first but if out of the blue you give me something just because those things I treasure, at least that's how it came across to me. I actually rather like that because it gives us another contrasting culture . .

Ponies: Friendship is all about asking and admitting your weaknesses then improving because of it.

Dragons: The strongest is the best.

Griffons: Money is all that matters.

Yaks: Friendship is all about pride, strength and helping those who need it without needing to be asked.

Though a few of those are changing such as Ember becoming dragon lord and the Griffons slowly coming round to the pony way.

On other topics I loved the gummy dynamic with Pinky Pie and his licking her when she hugs him or eating the bit of snow to help out in his own way. He's definately more used to travelling with her and playing her games unlike poor Rainbow Dash. I loved her little pop up again at the end saying the helmet really was too heavy for her.

In regards to the yak population there's only a dozen in this village but its pretty harsh terrain there may well be thousands of other yaks out there in other small villages.

I absolutely LOVE  this episode!

Altho that's mostly because of the take-away (or at the very least what I took away from it): Just because someone's too proud to ask for help, that doesn't mean they don't need it or won't appreciate it, especially if you know them well enough to do it correctly without their verbal direction.

This episode was really funny. I really like Pinkie, and she made every moment of this episode entertaining to watch. How she reacts to Yak culture was hilarious.

I couldn't get the moral though. I do think that the moral was about how different cultures ask for help differently after reading the comments here, but I think it was delivered poorly. If even an adult viewer can't understand it, it means the story just wasn't clear enough.

This Episode was kinda dumb...and a bit pointless, Pinkie Pie was cute at some points, but the Episode was just...empty for me? Or let me put it this way, i found the problem and the lesson to not be very interesting to me.

This episode is boring. I mean, this episode has some things going for it. Like, it's kinda fun to see the Yaks again, but that loses its novelty quickly. Pinkie is still annoying, but she's not completely annoying and she has some funny moments. In the end, I think what sinks this episode is how repetitive it is. The second act is just a lot of waiting around in a pretty dull setting. We're just waiting for Pinkie to finally be forced out of Yakyakistan and everything up to that point drags. The third act is a little better, but not by that much. The rest of the mane six don't add too much in the way of comedy.

Score: 5/10

The idea of Pinkie visiting Yaks and we see more of them was a good one in my opinion. The execution could be done better. But I don't find this a bad episode.

Because of the suborn moments of a certain prince this episode reminded me really Apple Buck season. The main outcome of this episode is learning and seeing more about the Yaks, so this is most likely not for everyone.
