If they allow Peewee to return to Spike now that he's had some time to be raised by his parents, I'm all for giving Starlight her own pet. In fact, Peewee's return could be the catalyst that gets Starlight interested in wanting one of her own.

Or is Trixie already her pet?

Starlight's pet could be Angel. It could be an emotional episode, that we get to learn how Fluttershy and Angel came to meet. What would the moral be though?

I do find the flying squirrel thing funny, but I personally support her getting a crow or raven. Extremely intelligent, morally ambiguous, associated with wisdom and dark magic.

Well with a tendency to have freak outs, with a reserved and charming like over coat i was thinking more like... in a "intended for kids" I mean, Fluttershy domesticates brownbears and vultures and even reasons with a Manticore.... i just see a badger alongside Starlight

Heh, that makes sense. Honestly neither deserves their reputation, they're only dangerous when threatened.

Thats what makes them more charming, they know their lifestyle and are not hunting anyone else, but they will surprise you with the just of what they really can do, and usually when it is to late for you to realize it inadvertently sees you as a foe... i think that Starlight shoudlnt be represented with predatory pet, but a potentially friendly but can get mean quick one... like Sunset.. and hers personality is actually close..

The reason for the devil's reputation is based on their scream and the aggression they show to other devils when eating or mating. They really aren't dangerous at all, and pretty cute most the time.
