general How do you feel about Halloween?

I may considered too old my most standards, but let's face it, most adults enjoy Halloween more than the kids do. You're never too old to dress up in a funky costume and go running around at night threatening to cause property damage unless your savage instincts are assuaged by the sweetness of sugar-coated bribery. On Halloween I like to go out with friends who have kids, on the premise that I'm there as an escort and all around 'candy inspector'. That way I have an excuse to not act my age. Awesome.

Fall weather is and always has been my favorite, so this probably aids to my liking of Halloween, I had some better experiences on and of it when i was younger, kind of wish i could be in that time certain days, (not talking as a child, a teen rather, some as an adult) I think its the entire vibe of Halloween, its my head butting with side of superstitious that I havent been able to completely lay my finger on and it is for a more ritual side of the party for some, bc face it, christmas as an adult is about making sure you look decent if you try to been like people lol, i never want to feel rude, but i am that dude that will come over and eat all your christmas food and be offended if im not offered some christmas gesture lol... but Halloween is more open and less free for all expectant, more shared good time u know what I am trying to saying.

YES! I get to dress like a cute creature and ACT like a cute creature!

Not a big fan. I kinda grew out of it, so I just began buying bags of candy for me at my local store. However, one time during Halloween I had to sit outside during night and give candy to trick or treater's. It was kinda nice, however the forecast was called for 50-60 degrees, so people wore sweaters and stuff underneath their costumes, and I was just out with a T-shirt and shorts shivering. Eventually, we just put up a sign that said "No candy!".

I don't dislike it? I've always at least tried to get excited for it when I was in college but ended up always just having kind of a bad time so that's kind of continued through the years. Look forward to it, end up going to a bar by myself, don't talk to anybody, go home, repeat next year. I think this year is going to be different though, my girlfriend loves Halloween and I actually have friends to go out with this year

your job is to plant yourself like a tree next to the river of truth, and tell the whole world
"No, you move."

Why not go to any malls, farms or festivals nearby?

That's an interesting idea, thank you. :)

Unfortunately, there are no farms nearby. I live smack-dab in the center of my city's industrial sector; nothing but warehouses and factories.

Without the Trick-or-Treat aspect, it certainly isn't as eventful as it was in my childhood. I do love the overall atmosphere and the decorations, those always pull me into the general excitement of the holiday season. The Autumn weather accompanying it makes it better. I wish I could do something each year though, like a really cool custom costume but funds usually do not allow for it. Overall, I at least really like the atmosphere even if I cannot do much for the holiday myself.

I BUC-BUC-BUC-BUC- BUCKING LOVE HALLOWWEEEeeeeeEEEEEeeeeeEEEN!!!

Can't you just feel it?!!? The air grows crisp & cool, nature itself starts to decorate as leaves slowly spiral downwards past the stiff breeze in your face! October is when you fully become aware of the threshold you live on! Fall, caught between the growth & insufferable heat of Spring & Summer and the icy, pristine dormancy of Winter! Fall is when the veil between the realms of spirit draw thin! The time when you confront your fears, when its okay to knock on strangers doors to take candy, to pretend to be things your not, take risks by going into rather temperamental temperatures & weather! It's the centerpiece of fall, the height of the year for me! (and, might I add, frequently seeming like the last bastion of Autumn!) There's just something about this time of year! Where its okay to be scared! Where everything just feels so electric with spirits n' stuff!

Pity though that I can't trick o' treat anymore. Or mug small children for their candy.

I need to find a way to celebrate it more. Maybe do some research into its heritage. Like that Samwein guy. Or them druids. Cops probably look down on blood sacrifices though.

Or maybe I could make a costume! Always wanted to go as one of those Abominations from Warcraft! But that'd require building up a scaffolding around me to the point where I'm shuffling around the size of a car. Or the Headless Horseman! My favorite! ...which'd require an old fashioned metal helmet equiped with a speaker & L.E.Ds inside to facilitate a removable, speaking, glowing head.  Or maybe just go as my Draconequusona! I'm sure most would find talking to a giant llama head a little disconcerting...

Beatings & Salivations Everybeing!   Creativity is something blatantly important to me as is no doubt evidenced by the 28 OCs I have posted here of the some forty plus I have, they're linked altogether at the bottom of my About Me page in my Profile & I would deeply cherish anything you wish to say about them! Among which of those I am proudest most of is my Draconequusona, His/My Ask Thread  and my Hydra, Gallimaufry or "Mauf" and their own Ask Thread!  Either way, sufficed to say, I am quite confident I have more OCs than you! Crazier to! Do You have a tatzelpony?! No, I rather think you don't! Hew-Hew-hew!

I'm totally fine with walking around the neighborhood in a costume, knocking on doors, asking for free candy is fun. ^^

I never could stand going door-to-door as a child, asking for handouts. Especially when wearing cheap costumes that were just embarrassing to me. Even as an adult, I can't understand the concept of a "costume party". *shudders*

However, I still enjoy the holiday, even if my way of celebrating it is a bit modified. I spend all of October intentionally creeping myself out- I tend to paper-mache unsettling figures and have them watch over me when I sleep. I spend the month watching paranormal movies and videos in the dark. I go out of my way to keep lights off at night while I go about my business, at home. And there's always so many indie horror games to try!

I think that Halloween is a fun holiday, for sure. I like the aspect of dressing up and having the opportunity to eat piles of candy. However, I stopped going out for candy a few years ago so now Halloween is really just another day for me unless I am invited to a party.

It's pretty sad because we're not celebrating it, in fact we're celebrating like, at 10% and it's really sad because I feel sorry for the kids hunting candies and nobody to answer when they ring the doorbell... Some stores are decorated but, no many. And house aren't decorated at all.
I think that's too bad because we're missing a chance to have fun !

What's not to like about Halloween? One one hand you get free loot, on the other you can sneak around in costume and scare the ever-loving daylights out of unsuspecting bystanders. Duh, count me in. :orly:

Sadly often times people will slam the door in your face if you look too old! :Thorax:

I, uh, actually don't like it. Ghosts are just boring and the scariness is played up too much for me :sealed: At least there's free candy and spending time with friends!
