I gotta admit, through fanfiction and art giving me more opportunities to see them interacting, Celestia & Luna are growing on me as siblings. I'd say they surpass Rarity & Sweetie Belle. Which means my list now goes:

After the events of Sisterhooves Social, certainly ^^ After Applejack steered miss fashionesta in the right direction for how to interact with siblings xP They're cute no doubt, but Sweetie is -probably- my least favorite of the CMC *not that she isn't adorable*, and Rarity is one of my least favorite Mane 6, so altogether, they just lose out to me in this list xD; Celestia and Luna were losing because you've only ever seen them interact once, but like I said, the fanbase's infinite creativity has given me many examples of how they could behave.

 

I will give this to Rarity & Sweetie Belle though, they have the most realistic sister relationship, like has been mentioned by others in this thread. The fact they fight and don't get along, and are very different, is more realistic and common in real life, than say AJ and Apple Bloom, whose' relationship is ideal, but rare.

Twilight and Shining Armor are my favorite siblings. I don't like Shining Armor as a character too much (at least from what we've seen), but as a sibling to Twilight, the pair share a very dynamic relationship, that differs from one's we've seen previously.

Seeing as Scootaloo and Dash are now 'officially' surrogate sisters, I'm happy to have added them to this topic's poll. They replaced the 'Other' poll results, so if any of the four people who voted for Other meant something else, you'll have to delete your vote and recast it under the new 'Other' category.

 

As it currently stands for me, AJ is still best sister. She's the most mature at the job, capable of being caring, as well as stern when she needs to be. That said, if we get another episode in the future that contains more Dash and Scootaloo sisterly character development (like I hope we do <3), then AJ's spot is libel to change or at least be rivaled. Seeing Dash 'in the field' so to speak, displaying her ability to be an older sister, is something I now want to see happen, and if it does, it could potentially rival AJ. Dash would inherently be a different kind of older sibling than Applejack is; Dash would be far more playful, and would probably be a bit rough in her play, being a die hard tomboy. She wouldn't be nearly as calm or wise in giving advice, and would prefer to teach Scootaloo through action and practice.

 

But not being like Applejack wouldn't make Dash a lesser sister, it would just mean Dash clearly has her own style, that fits to her personality. Thus, I could and most likely will enjoy Dash's style, as much as AJ's.

Who is your favorite combination of siblings in MLP? Why so? Or can you not choose only one?

 

Personally, I love Applejack and Applebloom the best. This is more of a recent development over the past week or so, however, I now solidly support them because I feel of all the sibling relationships, they are the closest, and the cutest. Twi and Armor are incredibly close no doubt too, but Twi as well as the shows' audience have seen very little of him, so that's my thoughts on that.

 

Applejack to me is just the ideal big sister. She's wise on sibling relationships, as she showed Rarity how to better her own relationship with Sweetie Bell, she's playful, kind, fair and overall an extremely good role-model. They're just super cute :3

One other thing that you can mention, if you'd like, is any characters you view as siblings who are not by blood. If there are any non-sibling ponies you see as having a sibling-type relationship, then mention them too!

 

Dash and Applejack for myself. They're competitive but also very good friends. To me they represent a sort of a classic 'Sisters who get on each others nerves as much as they get along' situation.

Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo, Scoot's idolization of her rings really close to home for me and is tear-jerking at times... Hopefully we will see more of them together soon.

Wait, whaaat? How could anypony forget Flim and Flam? I loved that duo so much. The way they sang their rehearsed number, the way they had a blast selling their cider and appealing to townsfolk - the bond between them is enormously evident. Who cares if they were antagonists? There's almost nothing I love more than a strong brotherly bond. They remind me of Fred and George Weasley.

Not forgotten :3 Since they're a one time thing, they fit under 'Other'. If every sibling relationship was included on that poll it'd feel more crowded. I like keeping it to the big choices, and throwing everything else under Other x3

Anyhow Applejack has been a sister her entire life. Considering Dashie has only been one for a few weeks, she's pretty dang fantastic herself (and will pass Applejack in due time )

Dash/Scoots are my favorite, but since AJ demonstrates sisterly-ness that is both ideal and cute, I've always counted them as my 'favorite'. But you're right, now that Scootalove is canon, I'm probably going to stick to that and have them as my 'favorite', while AJ and Apple Bloom can remain 'best' for now. Till Dashie blows AJ away~

I will admit Dash/Scoots is a really interesting a adorable pair to see but i simply haven't seen enough of them to really consider their "sisterly" relationship better than the rest. I'm actually thinking that maybe Rarity and Sweetie Belle are the best (even better than Applejack and Applebloom) siblings after reading previous post previous posts because many people can relate to their relationship. Applejack and Applebloom may get into their little sibling rivalry moments from time to time but they forgive and forget quite quickly and move on (while that's not necessarily a bad thing as C. Discord said it's rare in our world) 

 

In the end i think while Dash/Scootaloo are the cutest surrogate sibling pair (i really do love Sleepless in Ponyville) i think Rarity and Sweetie Belle are the best siblings

I think AJ's relationship with her family is really sweet. While, Rarity & Sweetie Belle shows that they still have a lot to learn.

Rainbow Dash & Scootaloo's relationship will start to develop more and we will see RD's big sister side come out , to top it all of Twilight and Shining Armor's brother/sister relationship shows that you can have a B.B.B.F.F. even if he is part of the Royal Family and busy with his duties. Hard to pick.

Hmmm. I'd have to say Armor and Twilight, they are siblings that I most relate to. Either of my brothers were my bbfs when I was growing up but they did tease me plenty when they aren't beating each other up.

I personally think they need a little sister and big brother episode, but then again that would require more words than Big Mac can say...

Either way, Just imagine Applebloom riding on Big Mac's back, like a piggy back ride some human brothers give their sisters :3

Wow, Rarity/Sweetie Belle, a pairing of the show's two best ponies, are losing out to Twilight Sparkle and Shining "I've been in two fricking episodes" Armor?  Something is not right with this world. 

 

Me, I love the fact that the two of them are still trying to figure things out.  They kind of challenge each other in a way- Rarity sets boundaries that Sweetie Belle sometimes needs, and Sweetie Belle pushes Rarity to go outside of her comfort zone.  And I do love the fact that they're very different ponies and they don't always click, but that doesn't mean they love each other any less. 

 

Plus they're just the two best ponies, period.  So therefore they're the two best sisters.
