Season 9 the last season. Yes or no.

I've always thought 10 Seasons would be the right number if it was decided to end it, maybe after a second movie as the ultimate goodbye.

Then again, it could easily go past the tenth and surprise me. I'm all for the latter but anything is possible at this stage.

A year or so ago I read that the franchise "My Little Pony" in general is worth along the lines 2.8 billion dollars. They might end MLP:FIM but if they did I'm really willing to bet they'd reboot it a year later with a different cast of characters.

Thanks to the pony movie, I'm certain that FIM will survive up to  the ninth season, but we have to see if there's enough horsepower if it reaches the tenth.

This is exactly what I want, except instead of shifting the shows focus to them while staying in the same timeline, advancing the universe forward a number a decade or two so we can see how the CMC's and others have grown, and what Equestria has become in that period. Would be pretty interesting to see.

Everything has a beginning and an end and MLP: FiM is not far behind. Even our ride will end sooner or later (of course the fandom will continue to exist, at least I hope) and this will displease us all Bronies.
Honestly I'm in the fandom since May this year and it would be too early for me to see the end even if I can't do anything, but at least I hope that MLP ends with a S10 and not a S9 or worse still the S8, at least it is a decade round and we are affixed.
I know that what I'm about to say now could turn up the nose not a few, but I hope that when the G4 will end, there will not be a G5 that continues the previous one or at least if there must be a new generation for Hasbro (or what other company, in case the brand will be sold in the future), it would be nice to totally detach it from Equestria and set it in a completely different universe, with new characters, settings and more, to leave the universe of Friendship is Magic, among its merits, flaws, ups and downs, that perfect world which is and which will remain forever in our hearts and for the future that will come...

If it goes on long enough, every show starts looking like a bad parody of itself (Happy Days started the tradition of calling it "jumping the shark").  IMO, if MLP hasn't hit it yet, it's getting there. (A major symptom is dropping/adding characters in an effort to revive interest. Sometimes, this works. More often, it fails)

No clue if season 9 will be the last, but IMO it probably ought to be.

If Hasbro wants to continue, I'd suggest ending G4 & going with G5 or a spin off.

Season 9 is last season yes! It will be thirteen 22 min episodes but there will be two 44 minute special episodes for a total of 15 episodes. Series will definitely conclude before spring 2020.

But thats okay! Because epic things will follow!

NO everyone! I saw a poster stating there's gonna be 26 episodes in season 9 too! It said, "G5 movie", "G5 Season 1", and a certain number of episodes: 220 for this season, I think, but I think that means 25 episodes if I'm calculating it correctly. I dunno. Once I find the image again I'll post it, but I'm having trouble finding it. I think the post got deleted. Regardless, the final season has more or less the usual amount of episodes!

We won't know the final outcome until Hasbro says so. Only time will tell.

True, long term plans ain't set in stone until said time arrives, but I'm not expecting high chances FiM will continue afterwards. It may, it may not, but all we can do right now is speculate
