Druantia is 4'2 and little over 40 pounds. She has had intuitive control over her powers for most of her life, and it's grown more precise with age. 

As far as a win record, Dru has only fought against people who don't use magic or have very limited access to it. She's run roughshod over anyone that has opposed her or her adopted grandfathers estate. Up to this point she's been a VERY big fish in a small pond. While she's still a sizable Fish, she still has a lot to learn.

Buck and you are the primary posters to get the duel started, but @Passion and I are typing up a storm for our collab post in a shared document. It may not look like we're doing anything in this RP at the moment, but we've written over 6 full pages of solid text so far and showing no signs of slowing down. It's already the largest Salem post yet. :mustache:

What *kinda* makes me scared and entertained at once. But the post should cover most of the issues Wave and Ley have to discuss, so that will mean I'll have both chars free afterwards.

And not sure I'll be starting any new subplots for "this day in RP" anymore, at least nothing major. Until the time is skipped forward a few days at least :x

Just a heads-up: a few minutes after the duel finishes the dinner bell will ring and everyone will make their way to the dining hall. From thence, characters will be looking at settling into their dorms/rooms for the evening and a timeskip will ensue to the next day, when classes actually start.

Buck and Dragon, I'm pretty sure Denim is leaving things open for your characters to react to the scene so far before his characters start demonstrating a duel.

Arid (and Passion), you've got to finish up your fight well before the dinner bell (probably even before the duel gets to the extent it already has, but OOC/IC time discrepancy and the fact that your characters are well-isolated from everything else going on should give you a bit of real-time leeway there) in order to maintain realistic timeflow and get your characters finished in time for dinner.

Mentis and Reader, rest assured your characters are not forgotten; the dining hall will be a prime opportunity for them to socialise with other characters and maybe even start a subplot or two. Pretty much everyone will be free for you to snag into interaction, so take your pick and ready your typing fingers. :grin:

The collab post that @Passion and I have been working on is almost finished, so I'm claiming the posting spot right after Dragon posts about Ghalan's reaction to Dru kicking off the duel.

 

However, before anyone else posts:

The duelling hall has pentagrams inscribed into the floor that keep combatants' magic safely contained during duels, which should prevent Druantia's magic from having any effect outside of the duelling ring. The seemingly mundane 'cage' surrounding the ring is just an aesthetic illusion generated by the 'projection grid' that Denim introduced.

But, since I hate to waste a great chunk of RP like Buck's post, I propose a retcon such that Miko, in her indignant haste to set up the projection grid, actually misaligned the illusion matrix. This would mean that what appeared to be the duelling ring, complete with cage and canvas, was actually bare gymnasium flooring off to one side of the actual pentagram. Druantia and Ghalan are thus fighting completely outside any form of magical suppression and the mutant plants taking over the auditorium as per Buck's post is a feasible feat under the circumstances.

The consequences:

Dru destroys a lot of stuff, Miko gets blamed for a lot of it, and Ghalan gets seriously taken by surprise by the plants coming in from outside the ring and will probably need to drop the 5%-power runes if he wants to survive for long (especially since Dru didn't wait for a demonstration and just jumped into the duel immediately).

Are all three of you okay with this?

Sounds good to me. So basically if this is the case, Druantia's magic is a hazard to the audience right now, especially with how wild she is letting her magic get. 

I also want to make sure it's known that it's dangerous for Dru as well, as not really knowing how to wield that power at the intensity she is doing it could hurt her if not kill her. All the more reason she needs to be taught/trained

Didn't you and Buck work out already that Dru & Ghalan's duel would end with her managing to win? Dru's far too powered-up for Ghalan to just up-and-knock-her-out (or even get close to her) either way, and in fact I'd consider her more than a match for him at the moment, especially given that she's burning through magic faster than safely sustainable due to her lack of skill. I advise revising your post so Ghalan just realises what's going on, drops his 5% runes, counters Dru's projectile and ground attacks as best he can, and possibly send some gravity back her way if he gets any time free from defending himself against the zillions of plants trying to take him out. He's having to go all-out with his spells on this duel, and it absolutely has to be at least several posts back-and-forth of a duel, since Buck's worked so hard for it and it's basically the core subplot of these entire past couple of RP pages.

That, and I still need Denim's consent on the retcon before anyone gets too invested in it, since he's the one whose character is going to end up as the scapegoat of this situation if he agrees with it.

 

I do like the idea of Duality being the one to give him his runekit, though. It'd be a nice character tie-in. :fluttershy:
