Need some show guidance, and will twilight return.

Hey, im new to MLP and im only just finishing the first season. but it was the EQG movies that got me started on the series, i have only watched up to friendship games and i was wondering if i should watch more of the show before starting more of the movies and or the EQG show. Sorry if this is confusiing but i have a few questions

1. In the friendship games ws hear that the new twilight sparkle from the EQG world will now be in canterlot, will the old twilight ever return.

2. Should i wait until i watch more of the aeries before i watch more of the movies and or the EQG show

3. Does anybody think we will be seeing more of tbe Dazzlings.

To be honest, I think you really should watch the main series first before watching the movies. You wouldn't understand many things otherwise. And I don't think quite got the order right. The order should be like so. (I put it as a spoiler because seeing the order might somehow spoil some things somehow, I'm not sure how but it's just in case)

Welcome to the forum. You should’ve been binging it like me! I’ve watched all those movies in order but in order with the show in 10 or 11 days! It’s quite a good show, I recommend you watch it if you have Netflix or something of the sort. But to answer your question, as I have learned recently as well, the Sci-Twi replaces Pony Twilight. I am sure there is good reason behind it though.

It’s entirely up to you, at this point you’ve seen all the big spoilers from the show in the movies so far, if you wanted to watch the next EQG movie, there’s no more spoilers there. There’s a pretty massive spoiler in one of the three EQG specials though, so it’s recommended you watch up to season six before you start those.

@Wannabe Bronylicious has a great list of everything in order, I would just put the three specials after Legend of Everfree, so, Season Six, then Legends of Everfree, then Dance Magic, Movie Magic, Mirror Magic, then Season Seven.

Well... I’m not sure, because I haven’t watched the latest movie. I’m not there yet in the story.

Personally I watched the entire main series of the show, and then went back and watched all the EQG episodes/movies. You can of course do it in any order you want, but the one thing I world really recommend not watching until your at least through the main MLP series would be the MLP movie 2017, if you've already seen it, then that's fine, but if you haven't, don't watch it until you've seen through season 7 of the main show.

I know that they are releasing a 44 min long EQG special called "Forgotten Friendship" in February sometime, there's promo videos of it made by Hasbro already up on YouTube. I'm not sure if they're planning on releasing any other specials/movies for this year at the moment besides the previously mentioned one.

Some notes:

The "hu-mane" versions of the ponies in the Equestria Girls alternate world are relatively underdeveloped (as they logically had less adventures than the ponies); so if it were not for the spoilers for the FiM series I would actually recommend all 4 EQG "movies" and specials alongside the first 2 seasons of FiM [since on Seasons 3 & 4the "mane" ponies start to change internally].

 Through the last year (2017); a lots of small "Equestria Girl shorts" (some musicals, other just 3 minutes  mini-episodes) were released; with some happening chronologically after EQG4 (Legends of Everfree); while others "inside" the previous movies [plausible "deleted scenes"].

  

About "My Little Pony: The Movie" (2017)  <-- Actual title

While it has a lot of characters from seasons 5 & 6 on the backgrounds; none of them interact with the mane six (or had any significance to the plot or sequence of events). Since the script of the movie was done in the middle of season 4; you can watch it after season 3 of FiM.

Few had done this "sync route" between the girls and the ponies [since it was not available until 2016]...

Since you do not care about spoilers... I would like to ear (read) about your experience with both "series" [Equestria Girls & Friendship is Magic] by the time you finish with the content of the former and the season 3 of the latter [currently "half" of the content].

I am not sure that is true.

SciTwi fills a slot in the Equestrian girls lineup (and for some reason gets wings when ponied up; go figure) but doesn't really have the same personality traits as pony Twi; Sunset fills the leadership role that pony Twi would take if there (while deferring to pony Twi via her magic book, of course) while SciTwi takes a more introverted and supporting role in the group. In essence, pony Twi's role is split between two characters, while leaving open the possibility that she COULD return and would naturally be accepted as the leader (displacing Sunset, who would be her deputy, and leaving SciTwi even more confused than usual)

I think if there IS a return episode, I would like to see the entirety of the mane group from equestria cross over, giving you both pinkies at once (could the world stand that? :D)

If you do not care for the "imported spoilers" from Equestria´s seasons 5/6 of FiM coming through the mirror; you can watch all "Equestria Girls" content as soon as you finish Season 3 [that is a half season with just 13 episodes anyways]. 

-> Then you can "get the references" when you watch S4 of pony =)

Umm, you know how at the end of the Friendship Games when Pony Twilight briefly meets her Glasses-wearing human counterpart, and she mentions being in a time travel loop, well, that time travel thing she mentioned will happen much later. Ok?

Also, if you have Netflix, you can easily watch all 7 seasons of the Main Show, and the 4 Equestria Girls films. The rest of the EQG shorts are on YouTube under Hasbro's channel.

Yes, although it clearly isn't earth (but is much closer than equestria is, of course).

No, although Sunset makes the point that Twi is a princess in Equestria and will be spending most of her time there (to the Waifu Thief) - there is no reason pony Twi couldn't return, she just hasn't so far (maybe in the ongoing series' of course; we haven't had that many released yet)
