gaming Favorite Zones/Areas In Gaming

We all have that one zone or area that makes us just sit back and appreciate the scenery the developers and artists constructed in their imaginary worlds. So I ask, what zone or area in gaming is your all time favorite?

For me it no doubt would be Eversong Woods from World of Warcraft (I know what a surprise I pick an area from WoW). It is a giant Ember forest just outside the Blood Elf capital of Silvermoon, with an autumn theme, which I'm a sucker for. While the background music is a loop of Lament of The Highborne, played from various instruments such as cello, flute, harp, and even a choir. Mixing this with the ambiance, which consists of birds chirping, a slight breeze, and soft bells going off in the distance, it gives this whole area a very tranquil feeling. Not to mention one of my first WoW characters was a Blood Elf, so it also has that nostalgic feel to it as well every time I visit.

As a guy who doesn't usually stop in games to appreciate the scenery, I'd definitely have to say Phendrana Drifts from Metroid Prime.
Everything about this place is gorgeous, from the falling snowflakes to the soothing soundtrack. It makes you feel like you're in a winter wonderland, and it's a nice
change of atmosphere when compared to the area you had to go through before getting to it.

Jolly Roger Bay from Super Mario 64/64 DS. Probably the first world in any game that got me completely hooked. There's so much atmosphere in this stage. The music and the scenery make it such a memorable stage that really gets you in the spirit for an adventure.

At first I rejected the zero, but that was because I simply didn't understand it. Now I do.

I've always really liked "Mumbo's Mountain" from Banjo-Kazooie. It is probably the best example out there of what an opening level should be. It also gets quite a few points for being in general well-designed and it probably has one of the best tracks in the entire game, and that says something with how Grant Kirkhope is a great composer, and the game had plenty of his finest scores.

Well I have some favorite areas

Final Fantasy XI - that all depends on where people most hang out at so on pre-adoulin update and expansion, It would be jeuno. Anywhere else in the game, I would say ronfaure areas since I like the music there and Windurst which it would be where I normally hang out the most. Grinding areas, well most likely to be abyssea on pre-adoulin update and expansion. If other areas, it would be limbus, SE Apollyon which I normally do every 3 days as a summoner, but can solo the area well and chance of completing depends on the summoning avatar's physical accuracy and atk power and if I have someone that wants to do limbus with me, I normally do NE Apollyon which I can handle, but the chances of completing depends on how well we can do and how much time left in the tower.

Pokémon - Based on the music, Goldenrod city (G/S/C/HG/SS). Based on best hatching areas, Lumiose City (X/Y), and Paniola Ranch (Both Regular and Ultra Sun / Moon). Based on Grinding areas, well it Would be battle Chateau (X/Y), kantonian gym (Ultra Sun / Moon), Battle buffet, and heahea city (both regular and ultra sun / moon). Most played area would be Black city 1 (pokemon black 1)

Banjo-Kazooie (n64) - Freezeezy Peak is one of my favorite areas in the game

Super Mario Odyssey - I would say New Donk City Music Festival.

Yo-Kai watch - Downtown Springdale. I just love the music there.

Mario Kart - Moonview Highway (Mario Kart wii), Cloudtop Cruise, Mute City, Big Blue, Hyrule Circuit, Excitebike Arena, and Animal Crossing (Mario Kart 8 / DX)

I have different ones:

Skyrim: I have always loved the frigid, snowy areas in Skyrim, the areas where snowstorms happen most frequently. I have the look, I love the atmophere and the relaxation of walking through the snow. My character probably disagrees, but whatever. :P

Pokemon: Specifically gen 2, I love the caves because of the music mainly. They are probably the least aggravating caves in the series for me because of the music. This is in the originals as the remakes didn't do that particular music as well, to me.

Grand Theft Auto IV: The playground that contains the swingset of doom. Such a wonderful thing.

Dark Souls 2: Majula. Again, music is the main reason. The theme of Majula is soooooo good, I like it better than Firelink Shrine. Just a shame Majula is within an inferior game.

Ocarina of Time: The ice cave and the Forest Temple. Both has excellent music and atmosphere.

Area B7R (aka the Round Table) in Ace Combat Zero. It's the site of one of the craziest battles in the entire series. So fun!

The villages in every Animal Crossing game. They are the heart of your experience playing the game and it's easy to get attached to the residents.

Hazy Maze Cave in Super Mario 64 and its DS remake. I love the soundtrack in that level so much (it fits that environment better than the other levels it is used in), and I just always had so much fun in that level as a kid.

The two maps on Rhen Var in the very first (I'm talking 2004) Star Wars Battlefront game. Why couldn't that planet have been included in at least one of the movies? It's like Hoth, but cooler because of the fortress and the pretty caverns.

Rainbow Road in every Mario Kart game except for Wii. That particular version looks cool but tend to fail so miserably on that track. I prefer the earlier and later versions which are still challenging but still enjoyable.

I really love the Golden Saucer in Final Fantasy VII. The music is so catchy, and I loved all of the different minigames there. (Especially Chocobo racing!)

Honorable mentions include the Emerald Graves from Dragon Age Inquisition, as well as Havarl in Mass Effect Andromeda.

ATV Off-road Fury: Yardley Station. Some people do 1v1 on rust in Call of Duty MW2 to settle disputes. Me and my cousins would do 1v1 Yardley Station. Either wheelie contest or demolition derby. Split screen on a 9 inch TV.

Great times.

Skellige in The Witcher 3. Beautiful mountainous landscapes, oceans to sail and viking taverns. What's not to love?

Mass Effect 1, The Citadel. Man, am I hyped for the remaster of this game.

Friendship isn't always easy. But it's definitely worth fighting for.
