Alarms/Snoozes

I don't keep any alarms, as I turn my phone off before I go to sleep. I do have an alarm clock next to my bed, but I've never felt the need to use the alarm feature - this may seem a bit counterintuitive, but I'm comfortable with it this way.

At first I rejected the zero, but that was because I simply didn't understand it. Now I do.

I have an alarm on my phone but I never use it. I wake up naturally or not at all. If I know I’ll have to be jolted out of a stage-4 dream state by some obnoxious alarm I can’t fall asleep at all. It’s like going to sleep waiting for someone to pounce on me without warning. It just can’t be done. I have a pretty accurate mental clock though, so I tend to wake up close enough to the time I want.

One or two, because sometimes I'll turn the first off when it goes off, and have no recollection I did so I'll sleep in by accident.

I do have a natural clock, I'm just not following it.

Umm... well, it all depends on what time I get back from work, how hard I worked, and how long I can sleep before I have to get up. I'll always set an alarm, just because you get in pretty big trouble for showing up to work late in the Army, but my biological clock wakes me up about 5-10 minutes before my alarm goes off.

Snoozing, however, that's another problem entirely. Depending on how I'm feeling, I might get up immediately, or I might snooze for as long as I can before work. Sometimes it's as long as three hours. x3

Not sure if that's good or not in every situation. My wife hits snooze a lot and so I don't really wake up like I'd like to unless I'm at a petsitting gig. :)

7 AM and 9:30 PM. One to get up, and one to start winding down for bed.

I hit snooze a couple times in the morning usually, unless it's one of those rare days I wake up feeling okay-ish.

I have a lot of alarms, one every half hour or hour after 5.30 am.  I use them at various times of the day depending on when I want to get up or something.  I don't think I need half of them anymore but I still keep them just in case.

Also, I've never used snooze before, I just have an alarm set for half an hour later or something.

Considering an alarm rings for around 3 minutes on my phone, I put an alarm every 5 minutes, before and after when I actually want to wake up. Can go up to an hour after; so around 12/15 alarms every morning.

I often wake up a few minutes before the alarm goes off (in spite of getting up generally being very difficult to me)... but I could never trust myself to wake up completely without one. :mlp_lie: If I don't absolutely have to get up at a particular time, I won't bother with one – I'd probably just turn it off over and over. :P

During the semester, I have several alarms. But during the summer, I usually don't have to be up early at all. I almost never have work in the morning. Thus I only have one alarm right now.

I have alarms set for every half an hour, from 7:00am to 11:00am.

...I usually turn them off when they go off and go back to sleep. :sealed:

I usually have one alarm set 1 hour before I actually have to get up then when I wake and still totally out of it, I'll push it back either 30 minutes or an hour. Usually not to go back to sleep but more of a safeguard from falling back asleep and sleeping past the time I'm suppose to be up.

I used to have five or so alarms, but I'd just either turn them off and go back to sleep or sleep through them. I've had to start keeping my phone on the other side of my room so I actually have to get out of bed, and that's worked pretty well with just one alarm.

  • 4:15 am was my usual wake up time on my alarm clock. It's old, so it's now stuck that way.
  • On my phone, it's 4:10 am if I need to be up early.
  • 4:20 if I want to sleep in.
  • 5:20 is my regular wake up time with my new hours.
  • Alarm set for X time if I'm traveling.

I also set an alarm on my Alexa device.

I never hit snooze. Snooze buttons are for the weak.

I've only ever used an alarm for my 4 am job. I've been out on leave forever, though. I always wake up in between 6:30 am and 8 am, so I don't need an alarm for normal schedules.

I usually have my alarm 1:15 before I need to get up, and my phone alarm 15-20 minutes after. It’s unfortunate when I forget that I snoozed once already, and then have a “mini-dream” and doze off further  .
