web When did you get your internet connection?

Well I got my internet connection way back in the year 1999. I remember having an US robotics 56 modem. My dialup connection was a whooping 20-30kb/s. Since the summer of 2004 I have a broadband connection. Going from dialup to broadband was incredible.

I really don’t remember.  I remember having dial up forever. Then in 2007 we finally got DSL ran to my house (we live in a rural area we are always last to see good internet) and it was great, until the internet got even more powerful like it is today.  Then it sucked and my company just didn’t care enough to keep it maintained for us.

Now I’m on satellite waiting for my power company to bring that fiber optic out here like they say they are.

I remember having dial-up a long time ago, probably in 2000, though I am not sure, I know I still had my PC with a 100MHz CPU and Windows 98). Then I got a LAN connection which was awesome. Later I moved and went back to dial-up for a while, then to DOCSIS, then DSL, then fiber.

My first home internet connection was my mum and dad's portable hotspots on their phones in around 2012 (when I got my first Android enabled device), however that wasn't a consistant connection, (my video consumption on it, and my phones until I got a modern smartphone, and even past then mostly consisted of Tubidy and Vuclip .3gp files),

I later got my first consistant internet connection in 2014 (after taking about a solid month to get set up cause of our shitty ISP at the time)

Same year for me! Had dial up tho I remember the speeds being around 8-9kb/s. Our landline service was terrible. Didn't get faster internet til around 2006 with an AT&T 2G card and even that sucked.

My parents had dial-up when I was growing up. It was the worst! I already got kinda addicted back when we had dial-up. It took the phone line and that was an issue.

It was sometime in the summer of 2004 that we got high-speed internet. I also got a PC in my room around that time. High-speed internet felt like such an immense luxury back then, and TBH, I'm still not over it. Lol.

I had dial-up for the first two years my family had a computer in 1998. We've had Optimum Online since 2000, and even back then we were amazed at how fast it was.

My family has had internet for as long as I can remember. So maybe 2001 at the latest. I have vivid memories of my parents having dialup AOL back in the day.

The farthest back I remember having consistent access to the internet was around 2010, though I'm pretty sure we had it a ways before then, like I'm sure now we probably had it back in the 90's. Was probably spending too much time watching TV and playing on my Nintendo DS/Game Boy/GameCube/whatever console at the time to notice.

Although my dad's house hasn't had internet in 2 or 3 years now.
