Twilight Sparkle97 402 December 6, 2020 Share December 6, 2020 Is your community dangerous? Where I live it is considered not a safe place to live because of shootings, stealing and murdering. Those things happen almost every day where I live. Even some of the cities near us like Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Portsmouth or Chesapeake have shootings, stealing or murdering happen almost every day as well. I am just afraid that one day either I or my family might be a victim of any of those things. I just hope it never happens.
Jesse Terrence 2,969 December 6, 2020 Share December 6, 2020 (edited) I'm in mexico (that sole phrase can sum up the thing, but I'll elaborate anyway xD). The neighbouring house next door was a safe house for the local mob, I live at 2 blocks from an abandoned bunch of houses where a lot of hobbos live, another block and you find the dealers' prefered spot to trade stuff, 2 blocks more and there's the new safe house. My hometown is a strategic post between 2 states in the mexican west coast drug route and cartels fight over it often. Everyday there are gunfights across the town and executions are a common thing. I'd say is still safer than CDMX xD Edited December 6, 2020 by Jesse Terrence
Fluttershyfan94 5,742 December 6, 2020 Share December 6, 2020 Heh no I mean not to say there aren't dangerous people here but like it's in the country side so there already are so few people. The people that are here everyone knows so really peaceful. TransitPony 238 December 6, 2020 Share December 6, 2020 From where I reside, no, it's not dangerous. There is a mix of longtime restaurants and new businesses here. But back when I was a little child, it was a dangerous place. My mom told me a story about cops who were trying to catch some criminals on the street below and the criminals got away. Ashen Pathfinder 16,161 December 7, 2020 Share December 7, 2020 I live in a community between two small towns in rural West Virginia, so it's not particularly dangerous. That said there are risks. Drugs and addiction are bad, and there are sketchy areas where I live. There was a drug-related murder here some years ago, so yah. Stuff can happen; just not that much. SharpWit 2,697 December 7, 2020 Share December 7, 2020 Not particularly. I don't live in Tacoma so gangs don't hold a terrifying presence, and I'm not in Seattle so riots aren't something to worry over either, but Western Washington has been dealing with its share of the opioid epidemic so now and then something crazy happens in the area. There's enough going on to never leave anything unsupervised or unlocked but not so much that you have to constantly look over your shoulder.

They call me Loyalty 1,948 December 7, 2020 Share December 7, 2020 I live in Argentina, Mendoza capital. In a relatively peaceful neighbourhood for people of moderate wealth and lot of services. It is quiet, other than the main street being fairly transited by traffic. It is a very nice place. But it is not without some minor incident from time to time. Mostly car accidents and petty theft.
AppleButt 8,676 December 7, 2020 Share December 7, 2020 I live out in rural Mississippi. I cant recall much crime happening in my community, and we could leave the doors unlocked without incident if we wanted to.
Early Sunsets 2,107 December 7, 2020 Share December 7, 2020 (edited) My particular area, no. It has a fairly low crime rate, and downtown is incredibly peaceful. I'd even feel safe walking through town in the middle of the night. It kind of has a "small, old midwest town" kind of vibe. If you go a little bit east to the city, however, then things get a bit spookier (yes, I technically live in the city, but I did all of my growing up in the next town over, so I don't consider the city my home. City limits are literally one street from mine). The schools usually get at least one bomb or shooting threat each year (though from what I heard, none of them actually happened), there are a lot more serious crimes (assault, murder, etc.), it's had a lot of severe drug problems over the years, and the crime rate is double the national average. I actually just now discovered it's got a higher crime rate than Norfolk VA, which terrified me during my year of college there. Safe to say I don't want to be in the city after dark. Kyoshi Frost Wolf 41,668 December 7, 2020 Share December 7, 2020 My town is dangerously boring. There's nothing here save for a convenience store, a local restaurant and at least 6 or 7 churches. A tornado could wipe out my town and the world wouldn't be losing much. Everyone here is completely fine and complacent in having to go out of town for literally anything important. All this "small town pride" bullshit I've heard over the years doesn't actually mean anything. Nobody actually has pride in a small town if they are okay with that town being entirely worthless. This town is the epitome of that. I feel like I am the only person that would legit jump for joy if we got something as basic as a decent grocery store. Nothing like that can survive here. That's just the good ol' USA for ya. Land of opportunity and all that.
Prospekt 11,018 December 7, 2020 Share December 7, 2020 I live in a bustling town that's starting to get more and more crime... there was a shooting a block away from my college campus about a month ago and we've had people get attacked on campus after dark, including some hate crimes. It's a shame. Supposedly there are some gangs on one side of town that have been troublesome before. But normally I don't really feel unsafe when I'm out walking during the daytime. raykv423 1,689 December 7, 2020 Share December 7, 2020 I don't think so. I live in a small rural town at Missouri (near Oklahoma border) for a quite long time and as far I know, it's not dangerous. I guess there's some crimes there but it's not much like @Twilight Sparkle97's area. Rule 11: When the job is done, walk away.

DubWolf 17,305 December 7, 2020 Share December 7, 2020 (edited) I’d say it’s questionable . Maybe it’s average for neighborhoods but I feel like people are always reporting stuff happening on the community app . (Usually cars broken into) Actually online says its pretty darn safe (2nd place) but maybe it’s too broad an area. It’s a suburb so there’s that. Jedishy 3,548 December 7, 2020 Share December 7, 2020 Where I live now is pretty good but I used to live in a pretty rough area. The summers would be dictated by heat. One summer there was gunshots every single day and murder reports regularly. Ive had to duck a few drivebys as they are pretty much to whom you may concern. Ive even had to pull my own firearm twice to protect myself or my house. In short living in a dangerous area sucks. May the Friendship be with you. King of Canterlot 9,603 December 7, 2020 Share December 7, 2020 No. I live in a very safe area that doesn't see much of any crime. SparklingSquirrels 21,348 December 8, 2020 Share December 8, 2020 I like in Washington DC and I've always felt very safe here. Most of the danger is concentrated in certain neighborhoods and any shootings are typically gang-on-gang violence. I walk home from work alone at night and have never had any problems though my area is mostly rich people with nice big houses (I live in a big house too but with 7 housemates!) I also don't live right downtown so I was far enough removed from all the action during the BLM protests, but I was still scared for a couple days during all the rioting/looting since helicopters would be circling overhead at 3am waking me up. 1 ֍֎֍֎

Clawdeen 15,108 December 14, 2020 Share December 14, 2020 I live in a high scribe town. A few years ago we moved to a house on the outskirts of town. Things aren’t as bad here as it was living in town. Still gotta be careful when I go to doctors appointments and such. They do seem to have beefed up security patrolling the streets there. 1 * Freaky Just Got Fabulous *
