A bit random but I'm curious if you people have a story behind your name (could be your real life name, online name, aliases, nicknames, usernames, new names when you transitioned, pseudonyms, pen names, any other kind of names, etc etc).

I'll start:

While it's true that Ray is actually my real first name and I pretty much preferred to be identified with it especially online, how my name actually came to be is that my mom named me after a friend of hers.
She didn't list my name as Raymond tho; it's just Ray and pretty much no one called me Raymond (thank god for that, I preferred Ray over Raymond because I dislike being called Raymond [strange, I know])

As for my nickname "Ray-Ray", I have no clue how did it actually came to be but a counselor at my school starting called me "Ray-Ray" when I was a little kid and literally the rest of my friends and the entire school started calling me (they still do to this day). I have no idea where did that came from so I admit, I'm confused by my nickname (although I don't mind it, looking back, I guess I'm a little puzzled on my nickname).

As for my username (raykv423) on the MLP forums, kv stands for my middle and last name while 423 stands for my birthday; April 23rd.

Username: I had an idea to have one username across all platforms. So did 3 others. The three of us have tried to "negotiate" over it, but nothing ever seems to happen there. For me, it comes from the brand of combines we run, Gleaner, which originally started out as "The Gleaner" back in 1923.

Real name: a John Wayne movie came on a few days before I was born and my parents decided that a name from that movie was a good name.

Real name: I'm not telling it but it was my great grandfather's name but also popular male name in the 90s. That's most likely the reason why I'm named this way

Username: Lunaholic came from (TLK fandom's) "Nalaholic". I adore both of them perhaps too much!

Real name: I’m named after a football player but when I tell people, they usually have no idea what I’m talking about :yeahno:

Username: I needed a brand name for my YouTube channel and “Mare” is to make it sound like a pony name and “Explosion” derived from “An explosion of ideas”. Nowadays though with all the explosion jokes people make with my name, I just pretend that the ExplosionMare blows up multiple times and regenerates for fun.

Real Name: Was a combination of my dad's name and a name that my mum liked.

Username: Was an inside joke back in Grade 9. Funny enough, if you combine Cash and In to form one word, it's nearly an anagram of my first name.

At first I rejected the zero, but that was because I simply didn't understand it. Now I do.

My name EpicEnergy came to be when I was creating a new YouTube account and decided to create a name that I could use for many of my gaming account names and other names.

The IRL name came around when my Mom decided to pick a more "traditional, yet rare" name. Though I am kinda thankful I didnt end up with something that was more common. Barely met other people with the same name as mine.

The current Internet Username I've been establishing and using for a over a year now came about due to me having a lot of different names that often switched from Plattform to Plattform, until Ive decided enough is enough, and tried to pick something that easy to spell and easy to pronounce (hopefully). Im generally fairly easy going outside of topics such as Politics, so it ended up being Eazy - quick and uncomplicated.

My real name was just a random selection that sounded good to my parents, as far as I know. My middle name came from one of my great aunts. My pony name came from my always dreaming, along with something that sounded soft, squisht and accessable. (I think I was on my lunch break and I was hungry, so 'biscuit' came to mind).

My real name is a great question that even I can’t answer due to my mother’s memory issues. Her and my father have argued multiple times on how I was named. As I mentioned though, due to my mother’s memory issues I’m assuming my dad is right and that they came up with my name together, however she swears her own mother came up with my name.

My username comes from Clawdeen wolf out of Monster High

Pastel Heart is my ponysonas name, simple enough~

I wanted it to be cute but also reflective of her/my personality. Pastel colors to me represent softness and childhood school and bedroom colors, very nostalgic to me--thats the reflection of my heart, so Pastel Heart :3

A past friend on another old forum gave it to me, and frankly I don't know their motivations or reasoning behind it. I've since been using different names elsewhere, but here I keep it as Jackleberry for consistency and old times' sake. ^^

When I registered here I used a Pony Name Generator it gave me Astral Chaser after some clicks. I liked the Astral part but not the Chaser, So I thought about it, and bam there was Astral Soul.

I know, I know. A breath taking story :sneer:

My first name (Christopher) came from my grandfather's first name (mom's side). My middle name came from my other grandfather's first name (dad's side), and my last name is also from my dad's side.

I was reading about Taoism at the time I made my profile,  so I picked Tao out of just liking the word and how it sounded. :sunbutt:

I never ask my parent why they decided to give me that name.  Maybe God think I would be something great-

I think my parents gave me my real name because of how much I acted like that one character from Snoopy, especially with how much I used carry a blanket around.

As for my forum name, I had two. The first was Dusky Wings, an OC I made about a year ago. It stuck for a while until I decided to make a ponysona, where I tried several different names and ended up with the name, Reality Check.

I have no clue how or why my parents chose my first name. Perhaps I should ask someday.

My username I've explained many times before. It is rooted from high school me when I got really envious of other girls for being more pretty than me. Sounds incredibly silly now, doesn't it? -_- (but hey, I was a teenager) I was also envious for many other reasons, one being those who were talented at music, even moreso those who were total naturals. I've never been able to be real talented at music no matter how much I practice, and that has hurt me a lot over the years.

There was one girl who was really pretty, played the bassoon, and didn't care for it but was really good and made the highest ensemble. She really got to me, and I think is the driving force behind me ever having this username in the beginning of me using it (back in 2007 or 2008 or so). Then years later I stuck with it, although I don't use it on many forums anymore. Perhaps because my beginning reasons for using it were so incredibly immature and obsessive.

I don’t recall exactly who, but I was named after a deceased uncle of one of my parents. Let me say I’m glad I turned out to be a boy. If I was a girl, my name was going to be Mary Lou. :P
