Actually, if you think about it, the majority (from what we've been shown) of Equestria's population is female. It'd be hard not to believe that the lesbian population would not rise to exceed that of the straight population! :U

... That is, if we consider the ponies to be REAL animals with natural instinct. It'd only be a matter of time before they eventually died out because the male population would just slowly decrease over the years and years and years... Humans and dolphins (as far as we currently know) are the only beings that engage in sexual activity for pleasure. All the other animals just do it because... nature :U.

I'm not sure Fluttershy is strong enough to discipline her child if she had one. Although, the end of Putting Your Hoof might indicate that she could be. It would be a struggle for her still, though. Pinkie is a bit too unsettled, and we saw how the twins ran roughshod over her when she was baby-sitting.

Rarity can be a little selfish at times, and her need for cleanliness would be at odds with the invariable messes a child makes. Rainbow Dash is also a bit too self-centred. I would expect that she would push her child to succeed a bit too hard, which could be hard on the tyke. Twilight would try to raise her child "by the book," and you can just imagine her continual worrying about her child when even the slightest thing goes wrong. Out of all of them, I see Applejack as being the best mother. She's part of a large family, often has to act as a mother to Apple Bloom (not to mention the rest of the mane 6), she's hard-working and level headed. She gets my vote.

i would have to disagree, Sweetie Belle lives with her parents. This is why we don't see her except for during CMC episodes. Rarirty is not her guardian only her sister.

I personally think Fluttershy would definitely become a mother, especially being the first if the rest of the Mane Six had foals. Fluttershy is just so caring and maternal she'd make a great mum. I also see Pinkie Pie and AJ in the future, the rest I'm not sure for certain, with their personalities and occupations in mind. But hey, that's just me. What do you think?

hm hm, I would actually imagine AJ to be first. she has a big, seemingly close, family that has raised many children, and adding more members doesn't seem like it'd cause any issues. I imagine it'd be encouraged. plus AJ seems level headed enough that she could probably find a guy that suits her XD I dunno

 

Fluttershy would be my second choice, but she seems like she'd have trouble finding someone for a while because of her shyness.

Rainbow Dash is too focused on her stunts for the most part, and I don't see her being interested in that sort of thing anyways

while I think Rarity might get married first, I doubt she'd be first to become a mother. having children would get in the way of her career goals

Twilight would be the same as Rainbow Dash, but replace stunts with studies

Hard to say who is the best mother and it's even harder to say who would be a mom. Fluttershy is kinda, but that's still with animals and not other ponies right now. Pinkie Pie a big maybe. Rainbow Dash I don't see her ever just settle down and being clam. Rarity no way.I guesses maybe Twilight and Apple Jack.

Maybe it's just my own mindset, but the way I see it, none of them would really be mums.

 

Twilight Sparkle: I see her continuing with her studies, or becoming a teacher - something along such lines.

Applejack: She'd be supporting and running Apple Acres, and wouldn't particularly have time for a foal.

Fluttershy: Her animals are basically already her children.

Rainbow Dash: Busy with her future and her dreams; possible Wonderbolt, or even something like a royal guard.

Rarity: Possibly travelling a lot to showcase her dresses and the like. Plus, she already takes care of Sweetie Belle at times.

Pinkie Pie: Are you kidding me? She'd probably feed them sweets by the time they're an hour old. . . even ten years in the future, after the thing with the Cake Foals, I don't think that would be her route. She'd be having/throwing/planning parties, and baking. Probably running her own bakery/party business.

 

As I had previously stated, this may just be my mindset that leads me to look at this sort of thing from such a perspective. Plenty of people and ponies, I'd assume, are happy without little ones.

 

Personally, I'm mentally/emotionally (most likely even physically) unable to handle child-bearing, and I don't really like kids, or taking care of children; I would prefer to live with my loved one, and have time to be with our friends and family and the like. Furthermore, I have considered becoming a psychiatrist, and I would find that my clients would be more like my children than anything. I like that idea. I could be a mother for other people, but not for any of my own offspring.

 

The only way I'd actually ever have a child, would be if I adopted.

I will, however, say that once Sweetie Belle is old enough, that she would make a very good mother. I get that vibe from her. Even if she were to become a singer, something tells me she'd still be just as loving, sweet, and gentle towards her foal. I don't see any of the other CMCs in the future having foals, though.

 

And the princesses? Nope. Never. Cadence maybe, but that's it.

I feel as if Rarity would become the first mother of the bunch. I feel as if she is older then the other ponies, and knows more about what she wants in life, and how to find it. She seems considerably more mature, and more ready to take on the position then the other ponies.

 

I'd say Fluttershy would be the next to have a child, but it'd take a while to find a stallion who falls in love with, and who falls in love with her, to the point where they have a child. Fluttershy would probably end up being the best mother of the bunch as well, as long as she can work her magic on a child.

 

After Fluttershy, I'd like to think Applejack would become a mother. Applejack is responsible, and knows what she is looking for, so she would probably be next, but you never know.

 

After Applejack, it's really a tossup between the remaining 3 ponies.

I’d say realistically AppleJack, she seems like the best candidate and I think she’d be a great mother. I think after her it would be close between Twilight and Rarity.

I can only really picture Applejack becoming one for now. As for what ifs and in the future,

 

Twilight would make a pretty good mom, she might have to respect that her child has different interests than her interests though and learn to accept a bit of chaos .

 

I think Dashie would do well eventually too, she would have to learn to put her child before herself but after that she'd be fantastic. Her teaching it to fly would be the cutest thing ever.

 

Applejack is effectively a mom right now, but I think she would have to adapt a bit to dealing with her child. That said, she'd be wonderful .

 

Pinkie might be the only mom in history that was more high-energy than her kid . After a little while I think she'd do fine.

 

Fluttershy might have trouble disciplining her child, but as of Putting Your Hoof Down and Keep Calm and Flutter On she seems to be overcoming those issues. I think Stare Master demonstrated that Flutttershy has excellent mother potential.

 

As for Rarity, her patience would be tested like never before but I think she would be great in the end.

According to this page, Rainbow Dash was the first she got married & had children, which was a surprise to her and all the other ponies too, because all was sure she´ll be the last one. Don´t underrate her.

If unintentional procreation counts, than Rainbow Dash, and maybe Pinkie. I'm not going to elaborate further. No offense to Rainbow Dash and Pinkie fans, I love them both, it's just something I think is likely.

Intentionally, probably Fluttershy, since she's most likely to want kids, and Applejack because of her family mentality.
