(I find it funny how most people in a fanbase about happy colorful ponies prefer metal over other genres :P)

Rock, metal, ska, dubstep.

I love how rock can be either really intense or really smooth and I love most rock that I hear.

Metal is for when I'm in the mood to let off some steam or to just drown myself in those kind of themes.

Ska is just cool. The blend of punky rock and jazz elements make for a rock/pseudo-reggae mix that is simply awesome.

And dubstep just sounds freaking awesome and accompanies strobe lights very well.

Rock or any variation thereof the style. Basically I'll listen to anything, minus what has been considered mainstream music from the past 9 years, nothing against mainstream music but it just hasn't been all that good. What the hell is a Stanky legg, anyways?

Hehe what a question indeed. My musical tastes range from 80's pop to Dubstep. I guess rock has always been one of my all time favorites though. I grew up on rock. It all depends on my mood.

And today I am in a Grunge rock mood, so I shall share some of my golden nuggets of Grunge. Days of The New. Acoustic Grunge. Enjoy, kids.

You make a separate category for dubstep but group everything else under electronica? I am offended.

Anything Electronic (like House, Electro and DnB), I guess. I also have a fond liking of Disco. Dubstep is OK, but I don't really listen to it much now.

You know, I still don't know how they define "nu-metal" but Disturbed, my favorite band of all time, is supposedly nu-metal though the band themselves don't like to put any single label on themselves.

They are on octane so I would in this poll, put it under either rock or grunge.

I dont understand your problem, there was no specific order or meaning to the order I put them in.

I've always considered Disturbed metal. Some call them just rock or hard rock but to me they are definitely metal.

They're one of those bands that kinda blur the line between genres so it's perfectly acceptable to label them either one or the other anyway. :P

  • 1 month later...

Drum n Bass should be on there. Or does it count as electronica?

Anyways, since there WAS no drum n bass on the list, I chose rock, alternative, metal, industrial, and electronica. And... I think chose grunge? Can't remember. Oi.

It's ironic how I fall just to get back up again...

I've fallen in love with Electricswing. (Is that considered a form of Electronica?)

Though, truth be told, I love anything that rocks the Trumpet/trombone. All those jazzy tunes.

You seem to have forgot one genre... Muse... muse is it's own genre!

I demand Muse be put in as a genre!

I'm a huge muse fan, and muse is the only way to describe them XD
