What Genre Of Music Do You Listen To? (poll)

Question: What is dubstep. Everyoen always talks about it and I feel so out of the loop. Probably isn't good considering HE listens to it... this annoying kid in my class with the brain of a two year old.

Man there is no jazz, I would of voted for that. Though I also like listening to a lot of Electronica type music, but I also enjoy some rock, rap, and alternative.

Mainly metal, mixed in with some rock and grunge.

 

I was raised on rock, and while I dd have a brief rap moment as I tried to conform to the popular music ideals of my peers, i quickly tired of it and went back into rock with passion, exploring heavier and heavier themes until here I sit, 90% or more of my music is metal or a metal sub-genre and permanent dedication to my favorite band - 'Disturbed' inked on my back.

I tend to listen to most types minus Rap. Most of it I can't stand. Only a few artists can I really enjoy. Other then that, I do tend to find myself listening to classical, techo and old and new Rock and Country the most.

I am a music connoisseur therefore i listen to all genres equally. i will say that today's pop sucks; as does today's rap music, which has no poetry behind it like it used to back in the 80's and 90's. Country has feeling behind it, dubstep either gives you a headache or makes you move to the beat. I could go on but i dont want to bore the thread with my interpretations.

I like mostly Rock n' roll, heavy metal, nwob heavy metal, grunge, punk, alternative, power metal, and psycadelic rock.

Pretty much the only genre of music on that list I listen to on a regular basis is metal. However, I don't like the screamo, dark or violent metal. My favorite kind of metal is symphonic metal. My favorite band is Nightwish, which is a symphonic metal band. 

 

Other bands I like are Within Temptation, Finntroll, and Eluveitie. I'm not sure what genres they are, but I personally refer to Finntroll and Eluveitie as "melodic/folk death metal." Within Temptation really varies, some of it is symphonic metal like Nightwish, some if it sounds like more traditional rock or metal, and some of it sounds like melodic death metal.
