Post your unpopular opinions

I hate how the US can just boss around everyone in the world like they own it and that they're the greatest country and they just have to poke their noses into the matters of the Middle East and create further problems there by invading Iraq and funding 'moderate' Syrian rebels as well as backing Saudi Arabia in whatever they do because the Saudis give them oil.

The Season 5 opener sucked and was a huge let down.

This certainly shouldn't be an unpopular opinion.

My unpopular opinion: A lot of fans are so mentally / personally invested in pony that they cannot see / accept that the show / some episode of it really isn't very good anymore, even if they would recognize this from some other work they'd be neutral about.

  • GTA V Was mediocre at best
  • Going outside is good for you
  • The US is not falling into a hell-bound pit of moral decadence
  • Sunset Shimmer is a great character
  • I've accidentally gotten onions in my ice cream. It didn't taste too bad.

This certainly shouldn't be an unpopular opinion.

I'm pretty sure that's subjective, but if we're shooting for the most contrarian position, I would argue that this is largely the fault of the writers' attempts to cater to the adult fanbase.

It does get a bit annoying to constantly seeing Brony content all over the internet. I mean I like the show and all, but sometimes I just want to keep away from MLP content. It isn't really a big part of my internet media consumption.

This to the tenth power. I thought I was the only one who felt this way.

  • There is a lot of crappy Anime out there (But also some good ones mind you).

The Beach sucks.

Lots of shows about Crime and Cops are utter garbage.

In regard to protecting minors from sensitive, offensive, disturbing, or otherwise adult-oriented media, I feel that content involving violence, drugs, weapons, and glorification of harmful and/or antisocial behavior (i.e. Fight Club) is far more damaging to a child's psychological development than "bad" language or sexuality.

Sure, I don't think it's a good idea to let your 5 year old watch something with heavy profanity, because they might repeat it in public without knowing better. Likewise, it probably wouldn't be wise to allow your child to watch something with heavy sexual themes if they are not yet at the stage in their life when they care about that. And when they are, the parents should accompany the media with a mature discussion about how sexuality and its consequences work in the real world.

But I feel like the United States is extremely prudish about language and sexuality, acting like it's tearing down the moral fabric of the country, harming children, and so on. Yet, movies with intense action violence, gunfire, murder, body counts piling higher and higher often get a PG-13 rating, which of course means parents bring their 6 year old kids to it simply because it's not restricted.

If or when I have children, I probably wouldn't allow them to watch movies or partake in other media with heavy violence until they were at least 15 years old. Even then, I'd evaluate it on a case-by-case basis: anything that glorified senseless violence or anything that combined sexuality with violence would be a categorical no until they were adults. And, I would discuss the content with them to make sure that they don't get any wrong ideas about reality based on what was depicted in the media.

Sex? Swearing? Nudity? I don't give a fucking shit. Sex, when done responsibly with the right person at the right time, can result in life. Violence, while it can be right and necessary for self-defense purposes, can destroy life. I'm sick and tired of sex being treated like it's such a nasty, taboo topic while frenetic violence is deemed as harmless fun for kids.

I have been exposed to a fair amount of violence in real life, whether through direct acts or indirectly through the overall culture of a demographic. I've seen tons and tons of extreme real-life and fictional violence on the internet, on the news, in movies, in music, and so on. It's not even remotely appropriate for children, and viewing it as more acceptable than sex is what is truly perverted.

I agree 100%. The US is not the only place where you find this kind of bs though. It's messed up how it's for some reason worse to show how a person is "made", than showing how a person is destroyed...I wouldn't worry too much about my kids watching porn. I'd worry more about all the extremism, religious fundamentalism, drugs and violence that's found everywhere.

While from a point of view of keeping the bad guys as creating new constantly will eventually ruin a franchise, I find the no kill rule of most super heroes as nothing but bullshit

I thought the Andy Milonakis Show was the most brilliant, ingenious, and hilarious thing to ever exist. To my pubescent self, this was the TV equivalent of Shakespeare.

I remember this show and I loved it.

The season 5 opener song was pretty good!

I dislike reviewers, i hate Joker from Batman "That screeching laughing clown.uugh", i don't like Batman at all due to that (Except from Batman Begins which is one exception due to Ninjas and unique stuff)

In my opinion superhero movies were ment for children, but has been targeted to adults now.

I don't mean to feed on negative energy though :(

I think streamers don't deserve any money, and the guys who are youtube partners then go to patreon to get supported by other folks and never go work in real life.

Edit: I was talking about the gamer streamers, not about the artists who need support.

Well, they are working in real life; they're entertainers. Just because they live off of donations and such doesn't mean that they aren't doing anything ^^;

I respect your opinion. My definition of working is producing content, supporting the society. In that sense, I respect the artists, music, fiction creators and all other creators but dislike the PewDiePie wannabes who make a full time job off playing video games. That's just my opinion, hope I don't offend anyone. In that case I'm sorry. :blush:

I just wanted you to know that some do put a lot of effort in and honestly I dislike %70 of them and some put in 40-52 hours of work in and not just playing games, and even when they do play games they still have to put on a show or something and also it mutual so is"nt the viewers something to hate too?

I am aware they put effort in it and I agree they should have they own fanbase and be supported as entertainers. Just not to the point it's considered a fulltime job. It is just my opinion, I'm sorry if i ofended anyone again.

Well, the youtubers produce video content, which is similar to producing art or music or such.

I think I understand that feeling though ^^ I think that sports are boring and useless, but still people get payed to play sports. I've just accepted that the worth of something differs for each person, and any sort of work is "real" if someone is willing to pay for it ^^;

And I'm not offended, everyone is entitled to their own opinion ^^
