Your worst injury

Title says it all, what is the worst injury that you have ever received?

Mine is 3 years back, i was visiting a friend that i have known for 18 years but only get to see about once a year, we were riding up and down his estate (which is on a hill) on pushbikes and decided to have a race from the top of the hill to the bottom.

I get about halfway down the hill and a van starts coming up the hill on the wrong side of the road, so i hop on the pavement and continue, the van mounts the curb and i panic slamming my breaks on, i fly over the vans bonnet and wake up on the pavement, thinking i'm fine i get up and yell abuse at the driver and lift up my left arm, the driver looks shocked and drives off, my friend starts screaming, i look at my arm and see my hand flopped down. I had managed to snap my arm clean in half, bone sticking out, the whole deal, i carry my hand back into the house and we get an ambulance out, the first response guy tells me there's a 70% chance they will have to amputate my arm (something to do with dirt infecting the bone marrow).

3 Years down the line, i have two large scars down my arm and metal plates attached to my bone, it hurts when i move it too much and i cant lift weights or play guitar again, and being in England means that it gets rather cold in winter, which chills the plates in my arm making it rather painful.

All in all, worst experience of my life, and the only bike crash i have ever had, strangely enough.

Well when I was 3, my arm basically came off, tore my muscle in it and broke the bone. That was my worst injury. My other one is probably my brother throwing a rock at my head. I was all wet, I couldn't tell if it was blood dripping down on my shoulder or if it was water. It hurt like crazy.

I think my worst injury was when I sprained my thumb last year. I was at camp and I accidentally rammed my thumb into a tetherball pole when playing and my thumb swelled up so much. I had trouble picking things up for about three weeks, worst of all it was my right hand.

my worst injury was probably a sprained wrist. i was playing football with friends outside on the asphalt, and i jumped for a catch and stuck my hand out for landing (i was young and not very smart) and landed on it in a weird way. also, got smacked in the head by a boomerang (again, when i was young). blood everywhere and it left a big scar

My worst injury happened about 12 years ago, I was (stupidly) running backwards and my foot got caught in a hole in the ground. My foot stayed in that direction, while my body twisted the opposite direction. Complete fracture, had to wear a cast for about a month. I still get pain after running for awhile.

I have another injury that left a scar, but it was really a surgery more than anything else. I have a 5 inch scar across my stomach from where my gallbladder was removed.

Well one of my worst is when i was talking in a group of friends on a hill and someone came running in and i got pushed down and my right arm got behind me and it made a loud snap, broke my wrist :( had to get surgery to get it fixed, but i can't bowl right because of it. Also i have ears etd. Cause my right ear to explode, luckly it healed and i can still hear.

I was in seventh grade. I had a pocketknife close on the tip of my right index finger. It cut diagonally across it, cut no bone though, and left a small chunk of my fingertip hanging by a little bit of skin. It wasn't until a few hours later around 2am in the morning that I got home from the hospital with stitches.

I only use lockblade knives now, with a good lock. I cringe when I think about what happened in the past.

Oh and there was lots of blood.

At one point it was getting hit by a car. That was basically just a bunch of cuts that had glass in them, and I had to get a couple stitches. Then I fell down some stairs when I was 19. I was staying with some friends in Pennsylvania, and on the day I was supposed to come home I fell down their stairs and broke my right ankle in five places. I was over 300 miles from home with my first broken bone, first hospital stay, and first surgery. Quite an experience. Now I have a plate, 2 pins and 4 screws in my ankle. and two lovely scars.

When I was in middle school, I broke my left ankle. I was in a cast for a good while. It happened again when I got to high school, same ankle.

I fell through a half built deck. I was waking across the boards making a pathway across it and one of them that was off center fell through. My right foot slid past the framework board I straddled and went completely sideways(bottom of foot against side of beam) so hard it dislocated it. it also ripped a bunch of crap loose where I can now turn my foot completely sideways(soul of my foot facing my other foot) with no resistance. I had a huge bruise on the inside of my thigh, so you can guess I would have been in alot pain if I landed strait down.on the beam.

I walked around like that for three weeks, not knowing it was dislocated until I moved my foot too far one way and it popped back into place. It hurt like you wouldn't imagine.

I also tripped when I was little and cracked my head open. Right across one of my eyebrows.

Omybuckinggosh.

that just put mine to shame.......

When i was parkouring at peggys cove.

I jumped off a cliff that i thought was 5 feet,

IT WAS 15!!!!!!!!!

I sacrificed my hands to protect my beautiful face.

But my hands were shredded from skidding along 400 million year old granite.

Lesson learned, wear gloves.

I haven't really had any major injuries, but this did hinder me for a while;

I was just sitting on the computer about two years ago, minding my own business (probably trying to master qwop) when the phone rings. I run trying to get at it and I get my toe caught on the couch and I broke it. Needless to say the air was blue for a little while. To make matters worse, the call ended up being from a telemarketer.

The days following sure were fun. Taped it up snuggly to another toe and I then walked around in slippers for the next week or so because wearing shoes was too painful. I never knew that such a seemingly pointless toe could be such a pain.

Learning how to roller-skate at my old apartment's balcony, when I was about 6 or 7 years old. It had a little step bewteen the inside and the outside, and well... Blew my forehead open on it. Seven stitches and I still have the scar... :|

There was this another time, while riding one of my grandfather's horse in his old farm, he went too fast and an wire line almost hit me in the neck. Hopefully it hit me a little lower, around my chest, but I still fell off the horse and broke my arm.

Broken pinkie. It was in 8th grade PE. We were playing kickball and as usual I was standing WAY in the back talking with friends, not really giving a sheet about the game. So, after some rude remarks from the other team, I decide to try and catch a ball. Now some of the kids in my class were the athletics in my grade and they could kick the ball a good 50 feet and break a window, I was not very athletic. So one of these kids kicks the ball, I try to catch it, but is going so fast It slams into my left pinkie and bends it backwards. Trust me, IT HURT. I go to the stupid nurse and she says it isnt broken and sends me to class. The pain didn't stop radiating for 7 hours. Once i get home from school we go to the hospital. BTW I can't stand hospitals, and have to answer a whole bunch of questions, THEN get my finger X-rayed. Doctors confirms It is broken and wears a splint for 6 weeks.

I didn't really have any injuries like you guys had. I never broke anything. The worst one I got was in Fifth grade, the first school day (shows how much that year was meant to be the worst school year ever). I was going to school with my bike. I usually ride on a rock path to get to school. That time unfortunately, a rock got stuck in my front wheel and I feel straight on all those spiky rocks. My left knee got torn. I couldn't stop it bleeding and it was a pain to get to school after that. It took three months to heal because each time I would bend my knee, the wound would open up again. I have a big scar on my knee now. I find it ironic however that I got this scar on a simple school trip instead of that time I got hit by a car. That's my bike that got killed that time.

Once I got a puncture wound on the heel of my right foot for stepping on some thin, cylinder-shaped metal. Besides the stress fracture I currently have, everything else I've ever gotten was merely a flesh wound. Literally.

Well my friend was in a car accident and I was with him. He did not get any injuries but I did. I broke my legs and now I walk around with a backwards foot. I can walk normally, but it hurts too much. Papaya.

Oh man, I have so many scars, broken bones, stitches and hospitalizations that I don't even keep track anymore.

Recently I got a good section of my cheek sliced. 27 stitches. Healed in no time.

Hurt really bad though.

I broke my leg, an arm and three ribs when I stupidly jumped into a rock quarry

Hyperextended my leg, hurt bad but it was a simple fix.

Five years ago I had three of my right fingers shattered when the were slammed in a car trunk.

I can go on and on, I'd rather not though.

When I was 15 I took my horse out for a ride one day alone. We were cantering along when he suddenly tripped over. He fell sideways and landed on my right leg and basically crushed my ankle into pieces. I had to make the 20 minute walk back home with a broken ankle. Worst pain I've ever felt...
