I managed to grab the Derpy card when it went on. I'm so happy right now. I missed the Fluttershy though. I about fell over when I got my order confirmation email.

So apparently, the enter-play store had 50 Rainbow Dash cards around 12 hours ago, and 50 Applejack cards around 5 hours ago both for $4. I can't believe I missed the RD one T__T

Applejack is en route but... if I got Rainbow Dash... I would have had all of the promos so far! And I bet that RD is gonna be put on ebay for $300 still... grrrrrrrrrrrrrr...

Just saw this today! Definitely stoked.

 

So glad that I don't have to look for this promo desperately on eBay or when it's going to be at the next con. Right now the only promo that I am missing is Rainbow Dash. With this Pinkie Pie box, that will still remain the same...

I'm not a big Vinyl Scratch fan, but that box looks sweet!

 

Store exclusives are still better than con exclusives. Worst case scenario for me is driving to the mall 30 minutes away. And then Target is just right down the road.

But I do agree... store exclusives > con exclusives. Store exclusives, once they are released, don't get sold for hundreds of dollars off eBay.

I hope a buy one get one 50% off sale is happening when this is released. I have not bought any trading cards, but this may be the thing that gets me hooked.

By the way, since I am new to this, can somepony give me the highlights of the MLP TCs? For example, which one is the best, what info does each card contain, foil cards, etc.

Ok, so basically there's only one real collecting mlp cards you can get. Other cards you see will be part of the blind bag figures. The mlp card set has character cards, villain cards, pet cards, scene cards, location cards, stand up cards, and temporary tattoos. Each with some basic info about what they show. The scene cards have some trivia questions on the back, but they're pretty basic. Stand up cards are thicker cards you can bend and stand up, and the tattoos are the cutie marks of the mane 6 + Celestia, Luna, and some unique artwork.

 

You have 4 different kinds of foil cards: promo, gold, puzzle, and some character foils. The character foils are the same card as the normal character cards just shiny. The puzzle cards have a set of 6 or 9 cards that make up a picture on the front with unique stuff on the back, such as their wedding gowns, elements of harmony, etc. Gold cards come in 2 flavors, character cards that have a unique closeup front and are pretty rare (about 1 or 2 per box or store set), and villain cards that can only be found if you buy a box. Promo cards were originally found only at conventions but now they have some of them found in stores. Currently there's a Twilight one found in a collector's tin at walmart/tru and 2 more coming soon.

 

A pack comes with i believe 4 common cards, 1 location card, a standup or foil, and a temp tattoo. As of now only the first set is out with about Also now there's 84 common cards, 9 stand up cards, 12 tattoos, and 50 foils (including promos).

 

That should be all the info you need

 

Edit: Also good luck finding some of the promos now without paying $100+ on some of those. For example the Rarity promo card was only released at last years bronycon, and they're probably not going to release any more. The Rainbow Dash promo is also pretty expensive.

While I may not have managed to grab any promos on Black Friday, I did get that lot of ten packs with a gold foil of your choice (I chose Luna.) It arrived today, and since I had every card that wasn't a gold foil already, I was considering selling the packs on eBay, but I decided to open them, just in case one of the code cards was a winner. However...

 

 

I ended up pulling Cadence, leaving me with only one gold foil to go, Mi Amore Cadenza.

 

Guess what I'm ordering after Christmas.

I just don't want to make multiple trips to those stores only to be disappointed every single time. I wanna wait until I hear word about their appearances.

I would think Hot Topic would post the DJ-P0n-3 collector box on their website before they hit the stores. I don't know. I went to a Target today and there was no sign of the Pinkie Pie box set.

I don't, but both the tin and the binder come with checklists, and the new collector's boxes are supposed to have checklists, too. Personally, I prefer the checklist from the tin, because it has pictures of all of the cards and an additional list on the side.

I went today to a Target near me and I didn't see the box. But that target always seems to put stuff like that on shelves late lol.

One of the best gauges for new releases seems to be ebay. When it comes to stuff like this, especially Target exclusives, if it's not on ebay, then it's not out yet.

I didn't have any luck today. However, I did get my Christmas shopping done, so it wasn't a total waste.

 

It'll be a while before I have another chance to go, so for now I'll be monitoring Hot Topic's website and eBay to see if I can get an idea of when I can actually get these.

I have so many mlp trading cards it's un-heard of! I even have the tin that holds all the cards. I got it off of Amazon. But every time I go to Target I'm always getting at least one pack (:

I went to the biggest Hot Topic on the West Coast tonight. No DJ Pon-3 box. Let's say if they don't have it there, it's not anywhere.

 

To give you an idea, I saw a shirt there that isn't even on the website. It was a guy's shirt, and has a "wanted poster" with Trixie on it and said something about avoiding doing magic with her or something. Just to give you the heads up. I couldn't take a pic, but it was a dark (black or dark grey idk) shirt with the brownish/stained paper sign in the center.

Good news indeed! Especially since I was thinking it would be more around $15. Could you tell us what comes in the box? EQD wasn't very specific, and neither is that sticker on the box.

Anyway, the Box itself contains

• "2" packs of trading cards
• A poster, one side as a checklist of cards, the other with Pinkies awesome face
• One Pinkie Pie Sticker (fairly large, about 2"x3")
• Pinkie Pie Collectable Foil Card

What section were these in?  The cards or the toys?  My dad's checking Saturday and he doesn't know where to look.  I'm really excited to get it.
