I'll be 33 in a few months. I love this quote of C.S. Lewis:

"When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put aside childish things including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up."

After attending my first BronyCAN, I was one of the rare bunch of older fans.   I will state this that from what I saw from the younger bronies....they were showing how friendly they were to each other.  They were happy to see each other.   They shared their interests.  They were strangers, but friends by common bond for their love for the show.  This made this old guy (me) feel good about being there.

I'm not exactly and older brony except that I'm 17.

I'm just at that age where the corrupted fcked up side of the fandom doesn't bother me none and is appropriate for the age group, and that certain things in here that i'll find attracting ( due to younger audience here, I will not say ).

I have been a brony for two years and soon to be three, I've come to a conclusion that I'll always be a brony even after the show and fandom fade( who knows, it may or may not).

There's just too many things that I'm too grateful to let go that occurred in the fandom.

Oof, I'm definitely not part of the older community here. I'm fourteen. I was actually very surprised by how many teenagers there are in proportion to people over twenty, but I suppose it's to be expected from a forum this big. It's definitely a bit of a relief for me.

I'm only going to be 20 in about a month.  But, I think being 18 or over counts as being an "adult" (even though I'll always just be a kid, lol).

Dang, after seeing all these ages, I feel a little insecure :P

Not saying my age because I feel like I'll get underestimated (I'm still old enough to be on here, of course). But yeah, there are tons of older fans out there. I love how we can all get along despite the age difference. :D

Well, my age is in my profile, but for convenience I'm 37. So, yeah ... older. I have plans to attend BABSCon next year so the age gap will be more noticeable for obvious reasons. You know, I will say that the age difference doesn't really show on this board. I know many of you who are in your late teens and early 20's who are far more sagacious than my aged peers would expect. When you get right down to it, it's hard to discern because of the fluid and effective way many of you communicate.

Heck, @ghostfacekiller39 is like someone who at times talks nostalgic about 90's gaming and music, yet he is a Senior in High School. I joked the other day about him being a time traveler from the 90's ... but all joking aside it just proves is that people - regardless of age - should not be held to any social expectation.

Adults need to not condescend to those younger than they are, and those who are younger need to stop expecting adults to be socially ignorant and unaware of their issues and culture.

I'm 29. I've watched every version of MLP since I was a little kid.

I'm 20, but that probably doesn't mean much.

One of my older sisters has been a fan since she was a little girl and really likes G4. She's 26 right now.

Almost 21, from Belgium, and now that's obvious that I'm not very old, ah ah. Well, young in appearance but old in my mind (well, it's almost an obligation in the writing world).

So, brohoof to y'all ! /)

I'm 29! But I certainly don't feel old! I do normal adult things (go grocery shopping, work, pay my bills, think about having kids), but sometimes I take a step back and it feels like I'm acting out a role lol.

I vaguely remember watching the show as a kid, but I remember the toys more. My best friend had a pretty impressive collection back then *sigh* nostalgia....  :squee:

I am a 32 year old writer who was a MLP fan during G1 along with most of the 80's cartoons whether they were supposed to be for boys or girls. Here on the forum I find mature acting and communicating fans of all ages, but I haven't really found anyone outside my age group in the outside world. It's almost paradoxical. I can say I'm actually a greater fan of G4 than G1, just so much more interesting characters and story. The lack of story and well defined characters was rather across the board in the early 80's.
