Will rainbow dash ever join the wonderbolts?

If she was in the wonderbolts then she would spend less time with the mane six. I'm also sure that she hasn't hit her athletic peak yet, and is not as good as the current wonderbolts who have more flight experience.

If Rainbow joined the Wonderbolts she'd have less screen time D:

I think this covers it.

After all, we wouldn't want Dash to leave Ponyville and then only appear in a few episodes since she's too busy with the Wonderbolts.

It's corporate.

Most shows have a certain section, if not all, of the fan base wanting something.

When that one thing happens, the enjoy ability of watching the episodes decreases, as people won't want to watch a show without wondering if that certain thing is going to happen.

For example, in this case, there are Rainbow Dash fans that really want her to join the Wonder Bolts. If Hasbro were to make this happen, that part of the community wouldn't have that wonder whether or not she would join.

This could result in a loss of views.

Loss of views results in a lower rating, which is a nightmare to big companies like Hasbro.

In conclusion, Hasbro is greedy for viewers. That's why.

What he said!

And maybe because of her age? I mean, the Wonderbolts are all fully-grown right, and the mane six aren't exactly all grown up yet, right?

That would be another reason.

In the depiction of the show, it's probably because she does not fall under the majority of Wonderbolts member criteria, which probably includes good sportsmanship, non-laziness, or something other that she lacks in her personality. Or, she probably never asked. She is loyal, heck that's her best feature, but it's just probably the negatives that really bring it down.

In reality, the crew probably never made an episode which she gets into the team because that's her own life-long dream, something that the others of the Mane 6 seem to have. I simply predict that they own get their wishes fulfilled in the very last episode of the series, and learn that friendship doesn't always involve being close, and no matter where they are, it will have the same amount of strength through good times, and bad.

Perhaps she wouldn't be as loyal?

I think we have a winner!

I believe that she hasn't joined the Wonderbolts because that would mean abandoning her friends. It was the reason she didn't join the Shadowbolts.

I actually call this the Pokemon Effect, because that's the show that is currently infamous for it. People constantly ask the question, 'Why hasn't Ash won a League yet?'. It's one of the draws of any show for the audience to keep watching to see if the characters are going to accomplish their long-term goals or not. So yeah, it's a business maneuver, and honestly it's a smart one.

I do however think it would make a great episode. Rainbow Dash gets the invitation to join the Wonderbolts and has to choose between staying with her friends and traveling all over Equestria with her idols. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised at all if this is eventually brought up in a later episode, if for no other reason than the fact that the show has very good writing.

Its simple

1. She is way too hotheaded

2. Hasbro is greedier than Scrooge

3. Aliens

How about for an episode, she DOES join the Wonderbolts, but for some reason has to leave?

It must be done!

We haven't had many Rainbow Dash centred episodes.

Every other cartoon has an episode of a character getting what they want, and then having to surrender it, so I thought why not?

If so, that'd be good, for maybe she decides that she has accomplished what she wanted to in life, but realzied it wasn't the same around her other friends, and than decides to leave. The Wonderbolts understand this predicament, and go on with their own lives.

But then again, that would take a way a recurring element of Rainbow Dash throughout the show, always wanting to join them, so I don't think we'll see that kind of episode. Good idea, though.

I didn't say she needed to have her goal taken away permanently. What if during one of their shows, her friends are in trouble and she goes to save them, (element of loyalty) and is kicked out for ditching an event?

Because as I recall she was the only pony to do a sonic rainboom ever, and being the pegasi team leader during winter wrap up.

Surely these are reasons as any to become a wonderbolt.

Because maybe all the spots are taken?

And besides, she needs to stay loyal to her friends.

Okay. That does make more sense, but being kicked out? Not sure it that's a bit too harsh, and she'd probably forget about and become discouraged with her appeal and attraction of the Wonderbolts from then on. That kinda might make her not so itching to be back on the team anymore.
