What do anti-bronies seek to achieve?

Well , pretty much attention and self-esteem boost by constantly putting down others. They are bullies, trolls who think a man is either "normal"/"tough" or a loser/furfag/horsef*cker/weeaboo etc. Pretty black and white, all or nothing mentality. Some of them don't even care about the show, just go with the hate because it's cool. I usually ignore them or try to show kindness, and they get even angrier (2 guys apologised for cursing me, they thought all bronies clop).

why is clopping so horrible in this fandom? Yeah, i think about making love with fluttershy or rarity or rainbow dash or celestia. I sometimes wish any of them were next to me. But why is a fantasy seen as a taboo? Can anyone explain this?

They fuel up negative inside them if they obsess over it, it can do more damage than it helps.

But so can it if one hates the anti person.

- Anger

- Hatred.

- Anxiety

I will just try to think of positive things when bad stuff happens. It usually cheers me up ^^

They are trolls. Bronies are easy to hate, and trolls love it. They have no goals (related to being anti-brony, anyway) and just like to spread a lot of hate. Ignore them, don't talk to them, let them have whatever opinion they want.

Many Anti-Bronies like hurting others feelings or something. Normally I would think they're jealous over how many people are in the fandom. But now that I have been teased over the years, I have noticed something almost exactly the same thing that they all 3-5 people did. They most likely found it strange, and not normal. Like, come on a grown person watching something little kid related, they gotta be more mature! Thats exactly what happened. Being one of the mature people at my school, words flew out of control once I was caught in public with a MLP portal shirt. (Which is one of my favourite shirts) So lots of people just like to be better than everybody else, immaturity out of the question, they gotta be the cool ones here.

That was a good comment, really, however i feel like i need to add something to it:

There are many mean anti-bronies out there, that much is sure, however there are some people whom just don't like the show at all (for any reaso, it doesn't matter) and see it as childish so they think you are "like a child for watching it" yet again, that's their opinion and i (nor us) can't do much to change it.

They will be against it just because they see it as something for kids and that's it. My point is, not everyone is a hatter, but there are many hatters and i can see why you would think that's the case.

BTW: That part about "everyone wants to be better" that's true, and someone making fun of people just because they see a show to make yourself feel better is not really going to work...

After the attack on Fimfiction today, I talked with a friend of mine who doesn't like MLP, but has never voiced an actual issue with it. I was surprised after talking with her that she did, in fact, have an issue -- and it was based off of the community.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of self-proclaimed bronies and MLP fans at-large who post slipshod material, usually of a very raunchy nature, on feeds like Tumblr and etc. Feeds like that tend to get a lot more attention and notoriety than do others -- not just because they're risqué and against the norm, but also because it flourishes. MLP "porn", as it would be, pervades the interwebz something fierce. At least to someone standing outside of the fandom.

People like those here on the forum I would assume are much more versed in the fandom's true nature, and just like with any other fandom, the gambit of straight-laced fans to the other extreme stretches far and wide. This has been the case with anime for decades now, and it only seems to be thanks to the passing of time that people (namely in the U.S.) don't adopt quite as staunch of a negative view toward those who play around with NSFW anime, manga, and related artwork.

Like others have voiced, I feel as if "anti-bronies" are often scared or sickened by the pony nature of the fandom, especially since they're not exactly anthropomorphic, retaining the basic form of a pony in animation (versus anthro's like Sonic, who stands on two legs and is far more humanized in form). But my friend made it clear that her issue wasn't with that so much as it was with the prolific nature of the material many fans share online. The discomfort for her didn't lie so much in the fact that it was related to ponies as it was that from the outside looking in, it seems like "most" fans, as she worded it, are only interested in clopping.

There's a lot of angles the debate can be viewed from. I only felt bad that her repulsion was due in part to what she identified as the fandom at large.

Some of them are just being rude because they think its fun.

Others are just fucking assholes, and fucking assholes will be fucking assholes no matter what. They have no objective. They have no goal, they just want other people to feel bad because they can't feel good doing anything else.

In my experience, anti-bronies simply wish to be viewed as "cool" or similar descriptions. B) They hate the cultural movement because if they liked or associated with it, their reputations could be damaged. If they like things like anime (which could be interpreted as hypocrisy), it's because they view it as a "tasteful" nerdiness.

Has anyone ever considered that they genuinely don't like the MLP fandom for it's behaviour? You claim that you're victims of being generalized, yet you call all anti-bronies bullies?

You're not a cultural movement, you're just fans of a show. You don't see how people just might be annoyed by fans believing they're saints because they watch a show? Whenever they're called out on this, the response is usually either paragraphs of why bronies are so great, or simply "fuck youu!!!!11" And yet, you're wondering what anti-bronies seek to achieve?

Like most people that hate others for falling outside the "norm", they just want the world to bend to their will, and ideas of how things should be.

Things they don't understand make them nervous, and they rather make those things go away than try and understand them.

I think this answer is simple yet complete and correct. These behaviors are not targeted exclusively to bronies, but anyone who goes out of the norm. And by "out of the norm" I don't mean bizarre things, I mean even just simple personal taste .. as in this case.

I literally just heard an anti-brony say that "bronies are sexist"...

How in the whole wide world can he, who says that we shouldn't watch this show because it's made for little girls, find himself in the right position to call us sexist? I...it boggles my mind how stupid some people are. At least we like a show that doesn't only have males as the main characters, like most other shows do.

Didn't "Lauren Faust". The creator of MLP: Friendship is Magic say that the earlier MLP was sexist, so she wanted to create a more unique world. I might be wrong, just something i heard on the net.

But in that case the assumption that the person you heard from, the idea that the new show being sexist must be wrong by that default, atleast the atempt of having unique feautures and personality that i find in MLP. I haven't seen the old. But i like MLP: Friendship is Magic very much ^^

That could be, I've at least heard that Lauren hated MLP as a kid and was therefore interested in rebooting it. Good that she did lol, I've watched almost nothing of the earlier generations of MLP...but I don't think I'd enjoy it too much  :P

As "anti-bronies" are simply "everyone who hates the brony fanbase (sometimes pegasisters too)", they simply have varying disagreeing-yet-overlapping aims, sometimes clashing against each other:

a. that bronies need to renounce the show, and become like everybody else: masculine, less geeky, and less awkward, no questions; or risk having everyone reject them and leave them to starve. Perhaps being "normal" does not need to be boring, dull, nasty or cruel after all ...

b. for fun and profit -- trolling, such as what some of them do, is merely for their own amusement, and they want you to be angry at them, or they will spam or report you (if ever they are capable of doing so).

c. that bronies are to be removed from the Internet, their programs (because of some of us flooding their sites with annoyingly nauseating waves of pony stuff), if not everything. Some even wish that all bronies are to be destroyed "for the good of all".

d. that bronies need to stop their annoying "pony versions" and "pony avatars" (even IRL), stop behaving rudely and fussily over some petty matters (from changes to the show to criticism), and be a more safer and cleaner fandom, so that others can enjoy and contribute to the show with them in their brony places.

This is what I know about them.

In my experience, I see more and more of pony forms of characters from other shows I like besides My Little Pony Friendship is Magic. It's everywhere. I've known people who don't care much for the show, but cringe at their show having their characters "ponified". They complain, but they don't go out trolling because of it. These cyber friends try to ignore it and also respect the fandom. Trolls not only fear what they don't understand, but they fear the upcoming Pony Singularity. I guess I'm lucky to at least be a casual fan. I truly believe the My Little Pony fandom is getting so close to singularity, that one day soon(in less than 20 years), we would go to bed seeing the world be almost normal and wake up the next day with My Little Pony stuff and ponified commercials literally everywhere. I for one embrace the My Little Pony singularity as ponies are cute and the fandom loves and tolerates many people. It might take some getting used to from people who don't care much for the show though. They'll turn on Seinfeld or Futurama and might see the ponified version of the episodes and spit out thier cereal thinking it's a prank but be shocked that it's real.

They are basically attention seeking brats who don't have enough integrity or appreciation for others likings that they spend almost all their time hating on things that they don't like, while simultaneously judging people.

If I may quote the first rule in the Global Rules of the forums:

Tolerate and love everypony.

As such it is important to remember that while it is fine to not agree with what your fellow fans like, it is not a good idea to point them out in the open and criticize them as such. Please, let us remain respectful here.

If this continues further then this thread will be locked.

Thank you.

I think that they are scared of how something like us challenges gender norms. You have to realize that people that go out of their way to bash us are likely the same people that believe that "women belong in the kitchen," and so forth. They want things to remain as they were.

The fandom itself is to blame a little bit too.

You should not shove ponies down a person's throat. Also they get seriously creeped out by the...umm....clopping.

Gosh, you people are making them out to be evil bastards or something. They just not have seen the magic of friendship, that's all
