Is it me or does Princess Luna hate Twilight?

In the Crystal Empire, Luna is shown to be concerned about Twilight's abilities and even goes as far to look down at her when Twilight enters the room. It seems to me Luna has changed quite a bit and she isn't as "friendly" as she was in Luna Eclipsed. Every time Luna and Twilight get screentime together Luna appears to be upset at Twilight's presence. And with the Season 3 finale, Luna didn't really look to excited to see Princess Twilight. I am not sure if this stems from Luna still being bitter about Twilight and the Mane 6 using the EOH to take away her more powerful form as Nightmare Moon or does Luna go through "Phases of the moon" and it effects her mood as such? What do you think?

I don't know but i had the same impression not only with Luna, but also with some other ponies, like Cadence.

But i think that are only impresions everypony loves Twilight, she always saves the day.

Anyway i think that strangely Lyra was happier that anypony else (more than the mane 6) of Twi's coronation.

Also I believe she is like that simply because she is not sure if it the right decision. Her sister is creating a New alicorn Who will now go under the Title of "princess". Perhaps she believes that this plan may just come and bite their behinds.

I believe that Luna does not understand why Celestia is so trusting of Twilight, maybe even jealous. I sense jealousy in her mannerisms more than I sense hatred.

Luna probably doesn't understand what Celestia sees in Twilight as a student. Luna must want a student of her own, and probably wants her own night guards. At least the Lunar Republic, can help Luna with that.

I don't think so. I don't see any jealousy or bitterness in Luna at all. In Luna Eclipsed the sadness she felt when the children ran away is the closest I can think of to what you're describing, but I don't think she hates Twilight at all.

I don't know and that is what really got me thinking. One of the only things i like about season 3 is we see Luna more but i notice everytime we see her she is not exactly pleased or even content with Twilight. And if that were Hasbro's goal the entire purpose of Luna Eclipsed and to a lesser degree Sleepless in Ponyville has been usurped for no real explainable reason.

After Twilight proved herself at the end of the Crystal Empire, Luna was the one who brought out the Star-Swirl the Bearded book.

 

I think she was initially skeptical, but ultimately swayed.

I didn't sense any hatred from her at all. It's just that she's left more in the background and the writers left Cadence and Luna out on talking because there wasn't enough screentime for them.

I don't see it that way at all... I think Princess Luna is just sort of awkward still around everypony and obviously as we all know has a personality that can easily be misinterpreted. Plus there's really no reason at all for Luna to despise Twilight at all, that in itself makes no sense unless there's some untold story we don't know about, otherwise it's just grasping at straws.

Just look at her right before Twi starts her speech.

Does not look unhappy or mad at all, she is smiling contently and honestly. Plus she is prolly gonna be the pony calming Twi down the night after coronation when all the stuff starts siniking into her and deprives her of sleep

Guys, guys, listen. Luna is the princess of the night, so it follows that nighttime is when she is awake. That means she has to sleep during the day!

She's just grumpy because she had to wake up from her beauty sleep to do something! I would be pretty unhappy too. 

She's not jealous, or hateful, she's tired.

I think she was very skeptical and a bit jealous at first, but then grew to like the idea.  I also think that she doesn't trust Twilight as much as her sister.

I think it is the other way.  I think she likes Twilight TOO MUCH and is too afraid of opening up for fear of losing her.  She was really perky in 3/13.  I think having a new eternal friend is a big score for Luna.

I don't think Luna hates Twilight but I do think there is some lingering jealousy there, Luna dosen't know Twilight for as long as Celestia did so she didn't really see her potential from the very start like Celestia did. I think she saw Twilight as just another unicorn albeit a fairly gifted unicorn but still nothing special aside from that. I do think though that Luna will eventually understand why Celestia chose Twilight to become an alicorn princess that is if they can pull this off, seriously that episode brought up more questions than it answered.

I don't know, I sort of picture Luna as unemotional.  So maybe it's just that.  But she might also be jealous of Twilight because of all the attention she gets from her sister.

I don't know. I hope they'll do more with Luna in season 4. Although I don't know how she'll feel now that Twi's ap princess. Hopefully, she can be happy again.

Eh not really, I think in the crystal empire Luna was just not as high in faith for Twilight as Celestia was, which is understandable.

 

I didn't notice any hate for her during the finale though, and really what reason does she have to hate Twilight? She helped her feel welcome and fit in, and she even was laughing with her at the end of "Luna Eclipsed"

I get the feeling that Luna is more worried about Twilight's well-being, much like how Twilight so quickly jumped in to save Luna during nightmare night. Maybe Luna feel like she has to keep her and Celestia from pushing anything too far.  She wants Twilight to feel comfortable and not unprepared to aid in the ruling of Equestria.

might question in her becoming a royal out of the blue.

 

I think Luna thinks more on how things work out in

the long term and how it effects things.    Some how Luna

strikes me more of the "fighter type"  the Cel is in her

actions and talking style.
