movies/tv If you could have any video game created into a movie...

Given the recent spate of video game to movie adaptations that have appeared and have been announced recently, I was wondering if through some strange miracle you are allowed to choose the next big adaptation what would it be?

Would it be a trilogy?

Who would you have star in it (ideally)?

Would you stick to the original story or change it up?

Lets hear your ideas :)

Personally I'd have Fallout made as a trilogy. The first and second games combined would be the first one, Fallout 3 would be the second and New Vegas would be the third.

I'd keep it the same characters throughout and the time setting would Fallout 3's although from what I remember there was only about 60 years between 2 and 3.

As for actors... Well the voice actors of the third Laim Neson and the like fit the bill. I'm going to have to think more on who else though lol.

Another one I would make would be Thief, the original one. Keep the plot the same and Garret played by Christian Bale, he has the right face for it.

Every video game movie i've seen was terrible normally these franchise's don't do very well. I.e Max Payne, Hitman, Resident Evil, Super Mario Brothers.   Now if they did it right I wouldn't mind seeing BioShock done.

I don't know the Silent Hill movie was pretty good (not seen the 2nd so I can't comment on it). Their starting to get the hang of adapting them, maybe it's because games are becoming more complex etc or perhaps the technology used to create the films is finally able to capture the worlds created in games. Either way they seem to be improving, personally I'm quite hopeful of the Assassins creed and Dues Ex films.

I agree though Bioshock done right could be epic.

I would want the Megaman series faithfully filmificated. (if that wasn't a word before, it is now!)

First there would be a triology of:

- Megaman

- Megaman episode 2

- Megaman III

Those would detail the 10 classic games and 'Megaman & Bass'.

Then that would be followed by two movies:

- Megaman X: Blue bomber rebirth

- Megaman X: Return of the revengiminance

'Rebirth' would be about X and X2, while 'Revengiminance' would be about X4 and X5.

Those would be closely followed by 'Megaman Z!' A condensed version of Megaman Zero 1, 2, and 3.

As a finale on the main series there should be 'Magaman ZX: Rock on!'. A movie that combines both ZX games.

Then there's the spin-off series, starting with Battle network 1-6, those would be aranged into pairs and made into another trilogy:

- Megaman battle network: Megaman.EXE

- Megaman battle network 2: Reboot

- Megaman battle network 3: The final chapter

After that they would make the 4 hour, blu-ray exclusive, 'Megaman: Alien warrior' for the Star force series.

Somewhere along the line they might make 'The legend of Megaman' making it so they filmificated all the Megaman games.

Yeeeees, I can already smell the money!

That's 12 films for a series with more than 34 games, that sounds reasonable, right?

Now, I wonder how many people would actually go to see every movie...

Halo had "Forward Unto Dawn" even if it was technically an internet series.

But I want Mass Effect to be made into a movie...

Because ME has one of the vastest worlds in games today and such strong fiction involved...It would do incredibly well :3

Little Inferno.

Trust me on this. It's about how there's a new ice age, and every kid has to play with a toy fireplace (That goes up to 100,000,000 degrees) to stay warm. THAT WOULD BE THE BEST MOVIE EVAH

I think that Amnesia: The Dark Descent would make a fantastic movie. It's already got a great plot, and if the correct cinematography was employed to replicate the atmosphere of the game, you could potentially land an Oscar with a film of it. (Not an exaggeration. Amnesia is substantial.)

Clive Owen would make a great Daniel :P

If it appeared, and the director was Guillermo del Toro, there's a 99% chance of it making my top ten.

Honestly, I think Zelda would make a great movie. I know they did an April fools joke a few years ago about making it into a movie, but I still would love to see what it would be like if they actually did make it into a movie.

As far as i know there's never been a good video game to movie adaptation. I'd only like the Halo series to be adapted into a movie if an acclaimed writer wrote it and a good director directed it.

I believe this was a short Neill Blomkamp did as a sort of 'kick start' to get a company to fund the movie but he stopped all production and started working on District 9.

I'd much rather not having it done than having it done and be terrible.

I recently discovered (and acquired) the Mass Effect animated movie called Lost Paragon, still haven't watched it yet but there s that if your interested. But yeah a live action one would be awesome.

I can't believe no one suggested it yet... CRYSIS would make millions if it would turn into a movie. I also mean the 1st one, not the second. Just the 1st one has such a great story-line and twists in it that it would make an amazing movie.

There was supposed to be a live action Mass Effect movie, but sounds like it's in development hell. I'm not sure what Hollywood would've done with that anyway. Mass Effect is already pretty cinematic.

I would like a new Super Mario Bros movie, except I would want an anime that would stay true to and incorporate various aspects of the Mario universe. Get some Paper Mario and Mario RPG in there. Also, a Pokemon movie that deviates from "Pokemon have just always been here, but are somehow all genetically able to become some kinda pure energy and fit inside this ball!" Maybe something like the alien plot line, except they arrive much more recently, and are a cover up by some powerful, multi-national scientist group (Team Rocket?) But one boy accidently meets an escaped Pikachu, and they form a bond... Then he also meets some psychic type, like a kadabra or something, who is weary of humans and follows him to keep an eye on the pikachu. And through that psychic type, we get some explanation and exposition as to what pokemon are, where they came from, and what they're going through with "Team Rocket." So much of the movie is running from/fighting Team Rocket and the local military or something. Add in a few more fan favorites to fill out the boy's team maybe, a Professor Giovanni, and a Mewtwo for the villains. Probably should also be a Professor Oak.

I'd love to see Soul Calibur II-IV as a movie trilogy. The story is very good, and the fight scenes would be awesome.

Perhaps Morrowind. That could make for a very interesting (but VERY long) movie.

Young, Incredible, Free, and Fly. That's how Veronica rolls.

Kingdom Hearts and Metroid made with cgi would be the greatest things ever.  If it had to be a movie done with actors playing the characters then...  none.  Live action movies like that dragonball z one are always kinda bad.  NEEDS MOR CGI

Also World of Warcraft cgi movie

OMG.

Dude you are freaking me out, I was going to say exactly the same thing, even the Guillermo del Toro part.

But obviously, yes I agree. Amnesia would be an amazing movie.

Also, even though I don't like the Halo games, Halo would be a pretty cool movie to watch.
