Which season is your favorite?

My favorite season would definitely be Season 2 

 

Probably because this is really when I started to take interest into the show and I think the character development really came to play in this season. I also really enjoy a lot of the songs!

Although season 3 had a lot of good episodes, season 2 just barely beats it namely because of the Nightmare Night episode and the season finale. The season finale is hands down, my favorite episode of the series so far. I just loved the songs and how dark they made the pony world feel.

Um... Ugh I have to pick seriously?

 

Well I guess I'm gonna say S2, because I think from S1 to S2 things got better, and actually the only reason I didn't pick S3 is because it only has 13 episodes. It doesn't have enough ponies for me .

 

Seriously though S2 and S3 both had their problems and therefore are pretty neck and neck, which is why my tiebreaker was episode number.

Season 2 I would say is the best seasons.

 

It did a great job in expanding the world of equeestria. To looking at how it was founded, to how Ponyville was made, and even showing that ponies of mixed species can of children of deferent types. (Loved Baby Cakes)

 

It had some of the best villains, songs, and moments.

It was just a great season.

Season 2 without a doubt on this one. I feel like the writers figured out what they were doing, and learned how to execute episodes very well. I also liked that it has 16 episodes. The characters are all developed better, so it's nice to have a full season where you know all the ponies.

 

Plus a lot of the major antagonists, like Discord and Chrysalis are introduced here.

I loved season 2 and I found MLP 1/2 way through the season so i was super mega excited from the last episodes that came out last year !

 

i like all 3 season quite a lot to be honest and would rate them all between 9-9.9/10

 

I just felt like some s3 episodes tried to cram a lot into 20mins (and did it really really well) and NO DERPY :C means s2 wins.

 

I liked s1 but just don't feel like it had as many great episodes as s2 (party of 1 is still my fav episode though )

Rarity Gets my favorite rarity episode (Suited for success)

Rainbow gets my favorite episode of her ( Sonic Rain boom)

Pinkie gets my favorite episode of her (Party 0f one)

And the gala episode 

The song the humor the everything is just wow

theres plenty of more stuff i like like the interactions with the characters how rd  and fluttershy clash how rarity and applejack clash 

how pinkie and twilight clash its just pure writing genius and it has the best feeling that your in a magical world of ponies and the way it blends in is just perfect

Season 1 will always have a place in my heart for introducing the characters - whoa, deja vu. I feel like I posted this before. In another life... anyway yeah, season 1 introduced us to the characters, world, and glory that is FiM. It had plenty of great episodes, good episodes, and meh episodes.

 

Season 3 was only 13 episodes. The episodes were still good, but it was too short to become a favorite unless it had some incredibly groundbreaking stuff, and Twilicorn was only SLIGHTLY amazing.

Season three has been my favorite so far, mainly because of the character development. It was short and there weren't any Rarity-centered episodes, but the writers still managed to make a very enjoyable season. Plus, we got to see a Scootaloo episode for once. Yay~. ^-^

SEASON 2! That was the first season that I watched while the episodes were airing on TV for the first time because I got into the show before it started. I also really enjoyed the episodes! The Discord starter and epic changeling fight in the end, made that season awesome.

It'd be Season 2 for me. I thought there was a lot of character development and some really emotional moments packed in there.

Season 2

It has multiple of my favorite episodes. My favorite songs are in this season. And Discord is by far my favorite villain from the series.  Everything was great. I can even enjoy a bit of The Mysterious Mare Do Well. It is the season that turned MLP in one of my favorite Animated Series Ever!!!

Season Three was kinda spotty for me; it had some good episodes, (SIP and WA) some decent episodes, (TMPP, OBA, AFR) some truly awful episodes (MD, SAYS, KCAFO) but was mostly just "Meh" for me. MMC felt like two episodes mashed together; the cutie mark swap and the twilicorn issues should have each been given more time to be properly explored.

 

Season Two had a very strong beginning and a very strong ending, but the bulk of the middle episodes left a lot to be desired. And while I enjoy a good breakdown episode as much as the next brony, I felt there was too much focus on individuals or world-building and not enough on, you know, Friendship.

 

Which brings me to Season One. It had it's ups and downs, sure, and was a bit les polished in comparison to the later seasons, but there are three main reasons it's my favorite, though I could list a number of smaller ones as well:

1. Nostalgia. I joined the fandom back in the summer of 2011, during the first major pony drought. I'm probably horribly biased, and I embrace that fact fully.
2. The lows were still pretty high. Even the season's 'worst' episodes, Feeling Pinkie Keen and Over A Barrel, are still ones I can watch again and fully enjoy. Keep Calm And Flutter On? Not so much.
3. Focus on character interactions. This is the season that really put the show's title to good use; here is the story of six friends overcoming challenges and learning how to better themselves and each other. Season Two felt at times like a number of disconnected stories about six ponies who only vaguely knew each other. While Season Three's somewhat returned to a more group focus, it's not quite to the level I'd prefer.

I have to say season two. I think the songs were amazing! I loved just about all of the episodes, and they were all decent. And of course Discord!

Although season 3 definitely had some decent episodes in it, it was very short, and there were a couple of episodes (and a certain storyline THING *cough* ALICORN *cough* that ruined it for me.

And i felt that with season 1, the writers, actors, producers etc. were still getting to grips with the characters and the feel of the show.

I have to say... Season 2 comes out as my winner!

Season 3 all the way! First, we had alot of character development. First, we finally saw a relationship between Scootaloo and Rainbow Dash, and I don't care what anypony says, Magical Mystery Cure is the best episode in my mind. Really great season, hop they keep it up!

I'm going to be the unpopular one and say season 1 was the best season. No, I'm not necessarily one of those, "Faust is god" type fans who thinks she's the only thing that can make the show great. I did start watching the show during 2011 before season 2 started, so it was the first season I watched through. I think it's safe to say most people like whatever season they started with, and a lot of fans started with season 2, so it's no surprise it's the most popular. For me personally, season 2 was the weakest season, even if season 3 was short in comparison.

 

The thing that made season 1 great was its emphasis on character interaction. Think of all the episodes that focused on a conflict between two ponies and how their bond deepened. We have Look Before You Sleep, Fall Weather Friends, Feeling Pinkie Keen, Griffon the Brush Off, Green Isn't Your Color, and episodes like Suited For Success, Dragonshy, and Party of One where one of the ponies faces conflict with all of her friends. These are my favorite types of episodes, because they have heavy focus on friendship and how it can be difficult at times. Season 2 and 3 are far less plentiful in episodes where more than one character share conflict. There were far more Mane Six centric episodes as a whole, and I see this as a strength. The show is at its best when all of the characters are playing off of each other. Season 2 had a lot less of this.

 

Season 1 also had a certain charm to it that the newer seasons lack at times. For example, Pinkie Pie used to burst into random songs on such a regular basis in the first season, but in season 2 she only sings in her episodes of focus, and in season 3 she doesn't sing any random songs at all. Newer seasons tend to try too hard to appeal to bronies through fanservice rather than rely on what makes the show great as it is. Season 1 wasn't able to cater to bronies yet because they didn't exist, and I for one prefer the show without the pandering.

 

Sure, I am not a huge fan of Boast Busters, Stare Master, or Owl's Well That Ends Well, but for all of the weak episodes season 1 had, the strong episodes are a lot more numerous in comparison. Dragonshy, Applebuck Season, Bridle Gossip, Fall Weather Friends, Party of One, The Best Night Ever, Green Isn't Your Color, Suited For Success, Sonic Rainboom, and of course, Cutie Mark Chronicles. These are all top-notch episodes, and I'm sure I'm forgetting some.

It's obvious everyone has their own entitlement to which season was the best.

But to me, it was without a doubt, season 2. Although, season 1 was a close tie.

Season two was just overall the best of the series, with the most songs, characters, best episodes, and without a doubt the best season finale of the series, the canterlot wedding!

By the way, I do like season 3, very much to the point where I was going to consider my second favorite, however, it was short, and the fandom's criticism towards many parts of season 3 isn't helping.

Season 2 is my favorite so far.

It had some of my favorite episodes, such as: A Canterlot Wedding, Lesson Zero, Sweet and Elite, Return of Harmony, and more.

 

Season 3 would be my second favorite with episodes such as: The Crystal Empire, One Bad Apple, Too Many Pinkie Pies, Magical Mystery Cure, and more.

 

 

Season 1 is honestly my least favorite. I can't watch Friendship Is Magic (Mare in the Moon & Elements of Harmony) all the way through.

because it has some of my favourite episodes and the ponies actually seamed like FRIENDS.

Season 3 would come second and Season 1, you're last. but it doesn't mean that I hate it, obviously....
