Dealing with Haters

I just ignore it and report it.. I just tolerate it, I don't care that they want to hate it. I have only gotten it actually on this site, so it was removed really quickly. But as I read what he called me, I didn't care at all. I've been hated all my life, I really don't care what a guy on the internet thinks about me. People that actually start replying usually just end up making a fool out of themselfs. Honestly I often find it just funny, it's a lot better to just ignore it or simply talk. Do not start yelling and screaming with caps like an idiot. It is just weird and it gives the hater what they want. Not to mention it gives bronies a bad name. Like people often say that bronies don't love and tolerate anymore, I bet it's mostly because of youtube, since many do not follow the "love and tolerate" motto and go bashing on the haters.. That way they are not tolerating and they are feeding the parasprites. It's just stupid and they always end up looking worse then the actual hater.

 

So it's simple, love and tolerate and please do not feed the parasprites.

I deal with haters by ignoring them or staying away from them.  One of my friends does not like the show however he respects my decision to watch it.

I tend to be quiet about my bronydom (if that's a term) and nobody really finds out. However if someone does find out and tries to attack me about it, I either ignore them, or I try to figure out exactly what it is that they dislike about the show/bronies and then try to refute that and convince them to be less aggressive. Really, I have learned to ignore haters, or manage to show very little emotion when someone tries to insult me, often leading them weirding out over what they thought would be an effective insult.

Luckily I've never had to deal with many haters (other than one of my friends...but he's since dropped it), but I would just ignore them and keep walking.

Be more intelligent than they are. Most people that go out of their way to mock you for your interest in a television show about ponies don't have much going on upstairs. Start a conversation with them, and try to make them see your point of view. If they refuse, and continue acting like jerks, it is all too easy to make any actual reason they had to mock you appear ungrounded. Large ammounts of sarcasm help for me.

I used to be a closet brony because I was afraid of haters, real life and online. I eventually told some of my buddies online and they didn't seem to mind, and that gave me confidence to tell my real buddies offline. 

 

I say just ignore the haters. Most of them are trolls anyway. The just wanna push your buttons.

I deal with haters mainly by acting so nice and polite to them despite what they say. I'm not a negative person to begin with, so this is fairly easy to do. The haters get bored of this act of kindness and trot off looking for more interesting game.

 

Ignoring the haters is also a good method. It works the same way, sort of. They try to get under your skin, but you don't pay them any attention. Just like with being nice, haters will get bored and will hunt for someone else to antagonise.

I tend to do like I would for any "hater" for both MLP or Furry click alike. Politely try to educate, if they genuinely will listen, but if they are one of thoes with there heads so stuck up in the clouds that they know whats best for everyone including me. I just giggle and tell them how adorable they are when there angry and move on ignoring there banters.

Haven't really had a problem with haters to be honest. The most hate I get is from my friends, sometimes they're serious about it, asking me things like "Why do you watch that crap? It's all you talk about and it's a show for little girls, seriously man!" To which my reply is a simple smile and a quote that is pretty much branded into my head now "Have you ever give it a shot?" 

 

Any other time I just generally ignore it, i'm good at ignoring things I don't care about.

I just try to be who I am and do my best not to care about others' opinions. I try to embrace the hobbies I have, and I try to carry myself with an air of "Yes, you've just encountered a real live brony, this is what we look like, and we're not that different from you."

 

HOWEVER. Dealing with haters used to be easier for me than it is now. As much as I try not to care, I really dislike being judged. None of my mates are bronies, and although they don't insult me, they also waste no opportunity to bust my chops over it. It's getting tiring, and I'm getting weary of brushing it off.

 

I normally take pride in being a brony, because of what it represents to me personally, but lately I'm thinking I want to go back into the "closet" and spare myself the trouble.

As a proud Brony, I've bought quite a bit of merchandise that's MLP: FiM related. As to haters, people call me gay and such, but I shrug it off.

Mainly, I believe that a show about ponies that has good life morals has nothing to do with homosexuality, thus there is no point as to calling me homosexual.

Also, this is my intrest, and I should be allowed to show my intrest in it as much as anyone who likes Nirvana or Doctor Who would. What I believe is that I'd rather be different and called gay that try to fit in a society where they despise and reject anything outside their comfort circle. Be proud to be a Brony. We Bronies support friendship and caring between eachother and society. Show off your difference to the world with Pride!

though on Xbox, i've had a few they send me messages.I usually troll back with something lke "yeap totally" and then if they end up onmy team, I annoy the hell out of them...until they either rage quit or team kill me until they get kicked...

What i do is pretty much embrace the fact that i am a brony rather than try to hide it. I feel it's better that everyone knows, so i tell them right off the bat. I think its easier to do it this way than for them to find out the really awkward way while you're in the middle of watching an episode and they come in and they are like "Uhhmm... what are you doing...?" So if someone hates on me in public or in private i just take it for what it is Nothing they say really ets me down because what i keep in mind is that you can always watch ponies, and theres nothing THEY can do to stop that

Depending on my mood and or how extreme their mocking is, I'd either

 

A ) Say "Ya whatever" and leave, because I wouldn't care enough to make a big deal out of it (if it's just like "ha ha you watch MLP what a faggot)

 

or

 

B ) Punch them in the face/beat the shit of them (if it's harrassment level mocking, or they threaten me with harm)
