What would the Mane 6 do in a war?

If the mane six had jobs in the military during a war, what would they be? More speifically, what they would do best? Like fluttershy as medic for example. Please give your honest opinions.

The Mane Six in a war? I figure that they'd simply be the heavy artillery in a sense and take the Elements of Harmony and use them against their enemies. I suppose Shining Armor would be a general in the war, with Celestia and Luna handing down orders. Cadance would probably handle the defense of the Crystal Empire. As stated before, the Mane Six likely wouldn't have roles such as medic, scout, soldier, or anything like that, they'd be there to provide the heavy magical support capability needed to fight the war. I mean, the enemy would probably think twice about attacking an Equestrian town if they knew a giant magic rainbow beam could be hitting them any moment.

yeah, I know the elements could be used, but I meant like what positions would fit their abilities and styles the best if the did join the war. But I guess you've got a point.

Um.. well I don't know how involved the mane 6 would get in a war honestly. But lemme think about it.

 

Twilight: A commander or something of high leadership possition.

Rarity: armor designer/provider

Pinkie: um a band pep band?(I'm not really sure thats even in the military or not.. .)

Rainbow dash: A high ranking loyal soldier

Fluttershy: A medic

Applejack: Maybe in some sort of vehical or something or heavy artillery? Idk.

Applejack: Almost definitely an army soldier, she's hardy and can hack those lengthy military occupations. Level-headed, which is an extreme plus for being in the army, plus we know that she's got both enormous frontal strength (hay slinging in the Iron Pony competition) and lower body strength (obviously).

 

Pinkie Pie: Military chef. (Chef, not chief!) She's a baker by trade, but I'll bet she knows how to cook other things as well, and seeing as she has the most experience with food out of all of them, she'd be great at it. Supply the pony army with energising aliments! (Aliments, not ailments!)

 

Rainbow Dash: Air force. Nimble flier to begin with, and one might argue that she doesn't even need a plane, but I'm sure she'd take very quickly and enthusiastically to manning (or mare-ing!) a fighter plane. Scout also works, as she's the quickest of all the Mane 6 and would be great at picking up intel in short amounts of time.

 

Fluttershy: People have already stated medic, but I also reckon psychologist. Somepony for others to talk to about their military stresses and the like. (Do psychologists exist within the military?) Medic also works, considering the work she does to care for animals; she must know some great medicinal dos.

 

Rarity: Propaganda artist/uniform stitcher. Creating banners and posters to promote military cause and recruitment in the general public. You can count on her to get that done! She could also sew military uniforms with relative ease. Body armour aspect would be added by somepony else.

 

Twilight Sparkle: Either front line commander, or engineer. The former because we already know she is amazing at organisation and allotting positions (if she worked with the efficiency of Winter Wrap-Up, the Equestrian military would be unstoppable!) and the latter because she has great knowledge of machinery and creation - remember that scanner she had in her basement in S1E15?

Get down to the mess hall, I heard they're serving M*A*S*H potatoes today!

 

But uh, since the focus of this topic has been kind of clarified for me, I suppose I can now comment on this with confidence. As a note, all these ranks are made up.

 

Twilight Sparkle - Magic General: Since she's now a princess, I'm assuming she'll have some kind of leadership role in a war. She can also provide guidance to the magic element of the army; perhaps she'd lead spellcasters in the army against the enemy. 

 

Rainbow Dash - Deputy Air Marshall: I can see her serving under Spitfire and helping out with air support, which will be handled by the Wonderbolts most likely. She will lead scout groups of pegasi to find enemy positions and coordinate with the main pegasi air force to point out positions to assault.

 

Rarity - Communications: Rarity, using her excellent sewing skills, would not only be able to make banners and flags and such, but also could craft colored-coded banners used for quick communication on the battlefield. For example, if a group of pegasi need to report that they see enemy up ahead, they could raise a red flag instead of flying down all the way from the sky to tell their ground forces.

 

Fluttershy - Field Medic: With all of her expertise at nursing animals back to health and tending to their wounds, she'd make a great field medic and could get wounded ponies back to the war front in ten seconds flat. She could even have her animals become her nurses and help her heal ponies even faster.

 

Applejack - Supplies: As others have stated, Applejack would mainly handle moving supplies to the war front, and would keep the soldiers well-fed and content. She would also protect the supply caravans physically, possibly with the aid of all of her relatives.

 

Pinkie Pie - Saboteur: With her sneaking skill and her cunning eye of spywork, Pinkie Pie is obviously going to be behind enemy lines in her spy gear flushing out enemy positions, sabotaging enemy weaponry, and taking out high value enemy targets.

I've actually been exploring this idea quite a bit for a 'secret project' that I've been working on.  In a straight-up war though, this is how I see it going down.  I really don't see most of them being active fighting soldiers, but instead serving other tactical roles that are important to a standing army.

 

 

Twilight - Twilight is the intellectual of the group.  So she would probably best serve as a strategist or tactician.  She's a Magic User, which would come in handy in a straight up fight.  But I could see her being more useful in the long run, behind the front lines, giving orders and helping to coordinate attacks and defenses.

 

Rarity - She would be really good with designing the uniforms, and possibly finding ways to fund the war effort, such as making fabrics and mining gems, to sell for money that could then be used to aid the troops.

 

Spike - Spike would probably assist Rarity in the gem finding, and also be a morale booster.  In the hypothetical sense, if Equestria was ever engaged in an all-out war, he might be a good ambassador to send to the Dragons, in an attempt to get their help if the need arose.

 

Fluttershy - Fluttershy could help in the medical department.  Plus, her skill with animals would enable her to train them to carry messages and supplies to and from the battlefield.

 

Rainbow Dash - Being one of the fastest Pegasi in Equestria (if not THE fastest), I see Rainbow Dash making the ultimate recon pony or spy.  She is so fast that she could fly above the battlefield, and probably right behind enemy lines, without any of the bad guys being able to track her.  With her ability to manipulate the weather, she could also literally rain on the enemy's parade.  In a pinch, she can always turn a rainbow into a WMD.

 

Pinkie Pie - Troops need food.  That would be where Pinkie Pie came in.  Not only would her ability to bake serve to feed the army, but her charisma and personality would be a MAJOR morale booster for the troops.

 

Applejack - Applejack is the only pony I see actually being involved in the mainstream fighting.  She'd probably be pretty good at it too because, you know, Calamity Jane and all.  Or at the very least, I could see her hauling around artillery, since her strength is insane (try kicking an apple tree to get the apples to fall; not easy).  As a secondary skill (though not secondary to her), she could also help bake apple pies and such to feed the troops, when she's not hauling heavy stuff around.

 

 

If it came down to it, the Elements of Harmony would also be there for them to use.

Twilight Sparkle: Commander/Leader of the squad - She's the smartest of the group so she should be smart and tactical in the battlefield
Rainbow Dash: Air Force - Her ability to fly and her speed is a pretty obvious choice, she'd be undefeated in dogfights.
Fluttershy: Medic - She knows how to help animals and take care of them, shouldn't be too much of a difference taking care of her own kind right?

Pinkie Pie: Light Soldier - Her hyper-activeness and quickness would make sense for her to run around with light weapons shooting everything.
Applejack: Heavy Soldier - Hard worker earns those muscles, she's probably the most capable of the group to handle the big guns.
Rarity: Demolitions Expert - She could be the one who crafts explosives, she is the creative one of the group after all. Maybe she can make the explosions look prettier.

Twilight Sparkle - I see her on the tactics side of things, finding the best way to "get" the other side, figuring out their weaknesses, analysing intelligence. Part of me also wants to say main off-the-field, at the desk leader, part of me wants to stay away from her being a leader in that way...

 

Rainbow Dash - Leader and fighter of the air-division.

 

Fluttershy - I agree with most others that she'd be a medic. Caring is her calling!

 

Pinkie Pie - She'd be in charge of creating weapons, she'd be the Tony Stark of that war and she might end up being a superhero.

 

Applejack - Leader and fighter of the ground division.

 

Rarity - I see her as the most well-rounded. I think she could do anything really which might make her less of a go-to person for any specific task, but she'd be great at any of them.
