Between the 2 options listed it'd have to be real books-although Ive been getting into audiobooks a lot in recent years. I'm currently about 3/4 of the way through 'The Dark Tower' series by Stephen King-probably my all time favorite read-and I'm getting stufff out of it I missed before. You are completely immersed in the story, if the narrator is decent-and with stories like the dark tower, or LOTR you really need to be, or a lot of it isn't going to make any sense.

I love a big shelf full of books. It looks nice and it has an awesome feeling to It that I don't know how to explain.

But maybe because I can carry a library of books in my iPad, I prefer e-books. When I'm at home, studying, it's great to have one of these big books like Harrison Principles of Internal Medicine open in front of me, but it's electronic version made looking for some info on the fly or studying during free time so much easier because it's easier to carry the tablet than carrying the book around.

This translated into other stuff. I have my favorite books stored neatly in my iPad, along with all the comics I like.

Electronic format is just more practical.

For dumb, self-important fics about mythology, ponies and fascist griffons that can't figure friendship out.

And I'm just getting started.

Has anybody seen the anime "The World God Only Knows"?

It made a good point about something. Why not just make it possible to read through electronics? It's more convenient at times with some electronics.

Why not?

Sure it's not good to get rid of books, but nowadays we may need more electronic books.

I voted for regular books, though. I don't like E-books, but I do prefer it electronically.

But it's more environment friendly and cost-efficient when made electronically.

Both, most of time I'm reading eBook and if I like it I'm buying the regular version, the reason not in money or comfort, but in space - I've got really no free space at my book shelves so I have to choose carefuly :)

While I enjoy both a lot, I prefer eBooks because they're easier to carry around (on my phone), and I'm also more likely to read something on my phone, then an actual book. They're also cheaper on Google Play sometimes, and there's a lot of places to find cheap or even free eBooks.

I've always thought that it have been much better with real books. I simply like the feeling of holding a book and turn the pages as I read it in the light of a lamp(or another source of light).

I have also found it much more tiring reading on Ipads and computers.

I prefer real books. It is hard to focus with the bright light from an iPad or Kindle fire, but while it is convenient, it also has its problems too.

Although I do own a few e-books and enjoyed them fine enough, for me it doesn't feel like a genuine reading experience, just reading.

As weird as it sounds I like to smell the book and feel the texture of the pages on my fingers... I can't explain it.

But damn, the smell of books.

I prefer real books.

Real books doesn't hurt the eyes, electronics do.

And what happen if you break you Ebook? You loose all your books. You can't break a real book.

I prefer having a shelf full of books rather than a cheap pad.

I like both options. I mean it's great to carry multiple books around in a device but it's also good to have a physical copy of a book for the great feel it gives.

A real book...i'm not going to let some stupid technology disturb my way of reading. I swear, technology is making us lazier and lazier...now we need a little electronic to read something to us? What's next, do I need a robotic mouth to chew my food, too?
I'm not calling anyone who uses e-books lazy...I just mean most technology in general. I rather just read the actual thing, ya know?

I like hard copies, but also ebooks just because I can download them free and have them on my phone for whenever I need something to read.

As far ebooks, I won't pay for them though. If I buy books it's a hard copy.

Regular books are annoying, they're hard to read at night and the pages constantly flip by themselves unless you break the book's spine which defeats the point if you like collecting books.

E-Readers are amazing. They're cheaper, they're easier to carry around and they make life as a student so much better as I can keep backups of my study material on my PC in case I ever lose my Kindle. If I lost my actual books? Well that's a pricey replacement you're looking at there.

I can't stand e-Books at all. I've tried to read a few books with my iPad, and I couldn't finish any of them.

Real books win for me. I enjoy being able to physically touch a book, especially flipping through the pages. The only downside is that it's impossible to read in dark without a light.

Regular books, just because it's just kind of more comforting to hold them. I don't have much issue with e-books, but I doubt I'll be switching to using them anytime soon. I can't deny that they're much more convenient overall, but I guess I'm old-fashioned :P

I got a tablet a few months ago and I tried to read a book on it, but I just couldn't read it.  I got distracted with the tablet glowing in my face and stopped reading.  I have a library in my room that is getting bigger and bigger all the time.

Go regular books.

E-books cannot be sniffed XD . Nuff said.

Aside with the jokes, I definitely prefer real books. Not that I hate e-books or anything (I actually have better opinion of them than 99% of my classmates), but there's still something with turning real pages, being able to take a look at cover any time you like, and simply... being able to sniff it XD .

I'm fine with e-books though, and I do have my own e-book collection, and am about to buy a tablet PC so I will be able to read them more easily than this. I plan to expand this collection, and maybe I'll get into them a bit more along the way. But, the feeling is still not the same. It'll never be.

Real books, all the way <3

Real Books are the best books.

Just so relaxing, turning from page to page, and also a lot easier on the eyes then reading from a lit screen.

sure a kindle or other e-book can hold 1000's of books but who actually owns 1000's of books? I love reading and own maybe 60-70 tops.

Those things also look rather frail considering how much some of them cost. give me a hardback any day. tongue.png

Hardcover all the way! On the road I go with soft due to weight, but there's nothing like holding a proper book! Could never get into e-readers, especially with how they run on batteries.

There's something nice about holding an actual book. Once you've finished it, there's a real sense of achievement and closure once you've closed it for the last time. This is something you cannot get with an E-book. Who needs to carry or read more than one book at a time anyway???

Real books all the way!

I've never been one for digital reading. It doesn't compare to holding a book in your hands. Also I like to collate things. So I would much rather have a psychical copy to sit on a self than something on an e-book.

Real books.

I like the smell and there's something about having physical ownership of a book is has certain sense of satisfaction, somehow.

Plus, they're easier to manage than these books on computers or mobile devices as you usually need to download some sort of app for them first.

And displaying books on the shelf in my room after completing them fills me with a certain sense of accomplishment.

While I do appreciate ebooks to an extent, I read mostly real books.  You see, I like to smell my books.  There's something about the smell of the paper and the sound the turning pages makes that calms me.  I also find it harder to read an ebook.  I can read a three hundred page book in a couple hours.  That could take me several days on my nook.
