SuperRainbowDash 0 October 28, 2013 Share October 28, 2013 I first found out about MLP FIM in 2011. I saw a clip from My Little Pony Friendship is Magic on YouTube. So I decided to check the show out. I saw the first 2 episodes and I loved the show ever since then. I like My Little Pony Friendship is Magic because of the characters, the writing and just about everything.
Princess Periwinkle 3,775 October 28, 2013 Share October 28, 2013 @@InvaderShy, Hi there, we actually already have a topic on the reason we like My Little Pony. ASocialyAwkwardPony 299 October 28, 2013 Share October 28, 2013 Because likeable, strong female lead characters, good music and animation, fun jokes and it just being a pleasant show to watch basically. With all the raw loloffensive macho bullshit gritty gritty bang bang most media is these days, it's nice to have something that is the complete opposite but just as good, or even better IMO. Rough Pathway 157 October 28, 2013 Share October 28, 2013 There are lots of reasons I love the show: the main reasons though would have to be the characters, the lessons, the fandom, and the people that work on the show. I love how the show breaks stereotypes too. Characters: All of the characters are relatable and they are deep complex characters. I don't know what else to say. The lessons: The lessons have actually made an impact on me to become a better person. Thats something you really don't see in children/family shows these days. The fandom: This fandom is really amazing. Almost everybody is extremely welcoming and understanding and most people in this fandom won't judge you. The fandom is also making an impact on the world by donating to charities and being really generous. Staff: The staff really care about us and they're just really cool people in general. There are so many other reasons but those would have to be the main ones. 2 Signature made by the amazing Sir Lunashy I make PMVS.
LED Dasher 228 October 28, 2013 Share October 28, 2013 (edited) Compared to other shows I've seen, MLP is very complex in nature and there is so much to analyze. One can have different interpretations of the meaning of a particular episode. The show also explores social issues such as inequality (Season 2, Episode 11: Hearth's Warming Eve), bullying (Season 3, Episode 4: One Bad Apple), and problems associated with media (Season 2, Episode 23: Ponyville Confidential). Above all, it is a unique, slice-of-life, feel-good show that people of all ages can relate to and enjoy! ReverseFaller 2,483 October 31, 2013 Share October 31, 2013 For several reasons... It has decent songs in it. It has great characters, that actually get character development. The voice acting for the characters is done pretty well. The episodes has interesting plots, for the most part. The fandom/merch is awesome, as well. Rinkitty 589 November 1, 2013 Share November 1, 2013 It's a good show. Good animations, good writing, good characters, good songs, good episode plots, good morals. If I had to describe the show with one word, it'd have to be... good. Just kidding, it's Mycaruba. ~Siggy made by Kitteh O Shy <3 In a society that has destroyed all adventure, the only adventure left is to destroy that society~
Commander Tangent 861 November 1, 2013 Share November 1, 2013 the same reason I like any show, it has great story, great characters, and a world with a history that can be explored and discovered. Situations in the show arnt stereotypical (most of the time). And the continuity is mostly stable. MichaelxXxTrixie 433 November 1, 2013 Share November 1, 2013 Personally it all first started for reasons I wont want to delve into. Then I found that it was a cartoon that I can over analyze because of the so many things they slip in for us to analyze. I also like the cute characters and of-course the realistic obtainable morals demonstrated. 1 Thanks to the lovely Pink Mist for the magnificent signature! ghostfacekiller39 23,860 November 1, 2013 Share November 1, 2013 Hmmm... Mainly Rarity, Fluttershy, and the fact the show is so damn good. I mean, Rarity for obvious reasons; I can't even deny that my favoritism for her is bordering on extremity. Fluttershy actually is what made me like the show; seeing Hurricane Fluttershy... It made my eyes watery. I had to see more. And Fluttershy was going to be my #1 favorite, but along came Rarity in the next episode I watched... And I love the fact that the show makes me so emotional; I get into it, man! I get serious! Not just while I'm watching the show, either; I feel happy when I'm meeting other fans, I feel like crying when I see some of the struggles other bronies are put through, and when I see pony bashing of any sort (especially when it's Rarity being bashed.) I feel like putting heads through walls. Also, the characters; they're all so realistic, especially for ponies, yet have those cartoonish personalities you can't help but love as well. I mean, Rarity's so over the top dramatic and obsessive, but once you look into it, she's one of the most in-depth ponies; her true passion for what she does, how she truly does care for her friends, yet will fall victim to her own desires; she's the most realistic one, if you ask me, and the most beautiful once you look through the her surface and see what kind of pony she really is Then Fluttershy's so adorable! Woww. I honestly, in both EQG and pony versions, find her to be the most attractive physically, and she's got a beautiful personality to match; I'd still choose Rarity if it came down to it, but she's just got the personality I find more attractive. Back on topic; Fluttershy is so strong and always comes through in the end, despite being so weak and timid; she's just so awesome! I guess why I really love the show, though, is that I can write a 1443 characters long post about why I love the show. He who is Positively Obsessed With All Things Rarity!!! aoEAF2FBvC0MIo2Q 3,673 November 1, 2013 Share November 1, 2013 (edited) Well, you could say I needed something positive that wasn't full of steamy bull. It was a time I was fluctuating in and out of misanthropy much more extremely than now. You could say that in the show I saw something I was looking for; something to convince me that harmony is achievable. If I were to just hear "Friendship is Magic", right off the bat I would have thought that the show would try to force acts of altruism and kindness but what I instead see is how the ponies' interactions feel natural. As though if they were real people, I could see things panning out like that. They have conflicts but they do manage to solve them peacefully without making it look shoehorned and forced. The right thing at the right time. While the opening song still comes to me like someone scratching a blackboard, the aesthetics are nice, no complaints on the animation, the characters are nicely animated in the sense of being brought to life and they behave more like real people given their situation rather than coming off as trying to hard to be something that's trying to be forced out. Not only do the characters behave in a seemingly natural way, even better are their interactions with one another. The world of Equestria proved interesting with seeing different mythical creatures, the horse puns for region names and even having different species of equines instead of just ponies with their mythical variations. It's a diverse world and that's a really good thing, especially given the execution of things so far. Edited November 1, 2013 by SunBurn
Winona the Dog 1,984 November 1, 2013 Share November 1, 2013 I like MLP because of how it executes it's morals. In it's own unique way of being happy cheerful and positive yet showing what it can do by being action packed and unexpected.
FNGRpony 658 November 1, 2013 Share November 1, 2013 It is one of the few GOOD series nowdays. Mostly it is just clones of an already bad show. FiM have good animation, well made music, the intro makes me feel like a boss, good character design and personalities. Not just, BLUE AND ARMOR PENETRATING AMMO AND AK47s. well that's a cop out alot of us use. Lets rewind to our earlier years. it's saturday morning. you know when Saturday morning cartoons were the shit. you have a heavy hitter like dark water on the other channel and it's a new episode. there is no internet. on the other you some some timeless disney cartoon like dark wing duck, or rescue rangers. Do you watch MLP? I mean if mlp has something like magical mystery cure i'm not sure mlp would have my attention. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JvTYhrZUgYY flight to the finish. i continue to improve,
Ac3xAssasin 453 November 1, 2013 Share November 1, 2013 1. The Characters are quite interesting and relateable. 2. It teaches love and tolerance vs. violence/hatred(While I do play my share of violent video games and stuff it's always nice to take a break from that and look at the lighter side.) 3. The community, while at first I had no interest in taking part in the community I quickly realized the Brony community is probably the most accepting fandom on the internet, and they produce a lot of good art, music, and writing. 4. Also I've never really been one to follow the "norm" and I have always had different interests from the normal teenager.
Renon Strike 67 November 1, 2013 Share November 1, 2013 (edited) as a personal reason the show resonates love and togetherness that is missing in this world, many of the songs and moments reflect that in the show. It resonates to me as a Christian of loving each other as Jesus loves us, The Brony fandom brings a lot of love and it seems the show is growing more of that.. It is no secret that a witty wholesome good loving show can be successful. Edited November 1, 2013 by Renon Strike
lomk 20,663 November 1, 2013 Share November 1, 2013 At first I was just skeptical about what the show had to offer. I watched one episode and it was alright. Two or three months later, I came back and watched every episode in seasons 1 and 2. Why did I do it? 1. The stories are original 2. The plots, though predictable, are well executed 3. The characters are captivating and dynamic. They exhibit a variety of emotion from being overjoyed to having a mental breakdown. 4. At worst, you can say the voice acting is good. I think it's excellent. 5. There is so much fanmade content out there and it provides an outlet where artists can further express themselves 6. When I was first getting into the show, it was really the surprise and irony that kept me into it. I was shocked that something like this could be so damn good! 7. The animation style. I was kinda surprised they were using Flash for this show. It's easy to think of Flash animation as cheap and unprofessional, like those poorly animated videos on YouTube that look like they were done by only one guy in his mom's basement, but they somehow pulled it off. And though there are plenty of animation errors to catch, it's still very well done and the art style perfectly matches the overall vibe of the show. 8. With all these other things combined, overall you get a great show that doesn't make you want to rip your hair out every three seconds. I refuse to let go until you're impressed. I refuse to let go until I'm depressed.

Argumedies 1,748 November 5, 2013 Share November 5, 2013 I have often asked myself this same question for many years now and I still really don't have an answer. Logically it is for many of the same reasons most, that most of you like this show, good art, story, etc... But then I like other cartoon shows I like for many of the same reasons. But why this particular cartoon show, why is the obsession so deep?... I don't have an answer
Sabrinie 392 November 5, 2013 Share November 5, 2013 I think I like the show because it's a little bit everything. I love the depth of the characters and how they develop over time. I enjoy the animation so so much and truly love all the songs. I sing them constantly and they're almost always in my head. The plots are usually very well-thought out and while sometimes they are predictable, they're still enjoyable to watch. The pop culture references thrown in is just a bonus, but I love them. I don't think the show would suffer without them, but it's definitely nice to catch them and know exactly what's going on that a child might not catch onto. I just really love this show so much. 1 What fun is there in making sense? Mand'alor Dash 2,224 November 5, 2013 Share November 5, 2013 The show certainly isn't without its herps and derps. But when it's in the groove, it's got some amazing characterization and storytelling, two of the most important things for any TV show to have. Amoral cynic with a bitchin' vocabulary. Techite Sparkle 354 November 5, 2013 Share November 5, 2013 Going to regret still when I was a partial hater of this community and show anywho. The animation in my words is easy to watch and simply looks clean. It teaches lessons that some idiots at my school could use (yeah from a 3 year old girls show, yes I am talking to the haters) I mean it has helped me this year LEGITLY in doing better in school. The characters are actually relatable despite them being ponys. Rarity is my grandma. Anyway sometimes there's even humor in there that an adult would even get xD. Just because I watch mlp dosent mean I don't watch the Iron Man movies . Considering that some other shows just try to get the attention of children so they just buy the toys. MLP actually has a storyline in parts that actually shows that the directors want to improve peoples lives. You don't see that much anymore... And who can't like a pegasus with a rainbow colored mane and is as fast as sonic the hedgehog In life when you are given gratitude. Be accepting and thankful of it. Because someday you just may be able to pass it on to others...
