How would the Ponies deal with a zombie apocalypse?

Say it's the early stages of a zombie apocalypse in a parallel universe of MLP FIM, Canterlot at the moment has no zombies, but the countryside is devastated by hordes of cabalistic savage Ponies killing Ponies.

 

Would magic give the Ponies an edge in combating zombies? Flying Pegasi zombies would be terrifying though.

 

Magical forcefields made by and maintained by all the unicorns in Canterlot, they could wait out the zombie apocalypse in Canterlot until the zombies rot away and die off, provided they do the odd risky raid to get food and supplies.

 

Say it was an insane necromancer unicorn that wanted world domination, using a banned magic book that tells you how to raise an army of the dead. However his zombie army is very stupid and don't really listen to him, he ends up captured by Luna and Celestia.

 

 

Would they kill him? Turn him to stone? What?

 

 

And what about the book? Would they burn it?

*This is my personal knowledge about necromancy and zombie*

As a reaper, in reality it is impossible to bring back the death once the souls have been delivered to the appropriate locations unless you are God. But necromancy has found the loophole to bring the death by capturing the souls in the gems or trading something with a reaper so they can get souls for you to resurrect the death (It is the illegal practice has been banned with severe punishments by Death). Zombie disease is different from necromancy because it is the virus or fungi taking control of the dead bodies to use for their feasting.

 

Now, now now! I think i have taught you enough about zombies. Let's get back to the bussiness!

Magical forcefields are very effecient and strong to keep the zombies but having to make sure that the casters have the strong will enough to keep the barrier stable.

Flying zombie pegasus would be the disaster for normal ponies with their high speed attack and air superiority. It would be hard to eliminate them unless you are working together.

To against the necromantic zombies, we need to use weapons refined with silver. Because the silver is the only holy material enough to purge the darkness and corruption out of their bodies to return the souls back to the underworld. Magic is useless to against necromantic zombies because they can only die effectively if the caster is forced to return them to the underworld or killing them with silver weapons or using necromantic magic to release their souls from the dead bodies.

They would just imprison him in a dungeon, then destroy the book so that he doesn't raise the dead again. Magic could just hold off the zombies or at least kill them, since force fields last long but they have a disadvantage. They would have to use something other than magic, to kill the zombies.

Zombies... Them lil' fellas always kinda made me think; "How can some of them use door knobs and others just walk into giant fireballs of destruction?" 

 

I'm pretty sure the ponies would call in the National Guard before things got too jacked up on Mountain Dew and Snickers Bars. At that point, the Guard would probably settle this issue by luring the said zombies into the Travel Trailer of No Return.

 

In this rather large and expensive travel trailer, the zombies would be forced into extensive slave labor and be forced to make useless items such as battery powered alarm clocks, colorful pencil erasers, non-reusable toothbrushes, chewing gum that has no flavor, rubber wrist bands that have retarded messages on them, those stupid big push pins that are multi-colored, blinking LED Christmas lights, those stupid plastic sun glasses with the dumb plastic louvers on them, screwdrivers with ratchet handles, and most importantly, wireless keyboards...

 

But really folks, they have magical colorful horns, they could be all like "Die Zombies" and that would be it.

They would make this pony's life a living nightmare for ever doing such a thing. That's how I see it at least. For what they would do to him/her, just use your imagination. My guess is that it would not be pleasant whatsoever. As for the book, the princesses would destroy it to prevent something like this from ever happening again.

If I do not overanalyze this and state my opinions supported by logic and awesome, highly catchy songs, then my brony badge is probably going to be revoked so...

 

First, let's talk about the zombies themselves. Zombies clearly are dead and lacking in souls, so would unicorn and alicorn zombies really be capable of manipulating magic? As pegasus ponies are also able to fly because of magic and the resilience of earth ponies comes from magic sources.

 

This clearly grants the living a huge advantage, if my thoughts are correct.

 

Second, Celestia, Luna, Twilight, Discord, the Crystal Heart, Shining Armor, Cadance, the Elements of Harmony, of course, and if it comes down to it, the Alicorn Amulet, are all equivalents of atomic bombs that can be used again and again.

 

Third, zombies are generally decrepit, so even if they can still use magic, many of their wings and horns may have been rendered inoperable.

 

The necromancer in question, would likely be... well, the Elements of Harmony's effects have varied thus far. It'll probably be something personalized to him and very psychologically torturous. NMM being sent to the moon was cruel, and imagine a creature of chaos being frozen in stone, unable to move or use powers, helpless!

 

As for the book, it would probably be sent away to wherever the Alicorn Amulet is at the moment to be stored away and be kept safe.

I think zombies would be in effective with all the magic floating around.

The only real advantage zombies would have, would be the fact zombies have a nasty habbit of being former loved ones.

I think that the armies of equestria aswell as the elements of harmony, and whatever other unicorns battle able would fight, aswell as any other ponies able to fight. 

 

It would be chaos really, similar to a zombie apocalypse here, except maybe with more teamwork, and magic.

 

I don't know if the elements would nessarily work on the zombies or not, or if it did it would not turn them to stone, since the only one turned to stone so far has been discord. And I believe that has reasons related solely to Discord.

 

Regardless, twilight is very skilled in magic, so it would be entirely possible they survive. 

 

It would be somewhat like the changeling invasion, except it would be more prepared generally, there would still be those not willing or brave or skilled enough to fight, but there is i'm sure plenty of battle ready ponies. Especially with their lives on the line.

 

 

Defeating the Unicorn necromancer would either use the EOH, or simply the combined forces of the ponies.

 

It would be chaotic and have many causalities regardless, and pretty gruesome, not something i'd really look forward to..

 

I wonder if anybody has made a pony version of the walking dead yet as a fanfic... ;p.

Well throughout every zombie movie and game the zombies are different so I'm going to go with they are walking dead type zombies as in slow and dumb soooo earth ponies can buck them and use weapons unicorns can get creative with magic and pegasi could be artillery a for whoever caused this cast to stone or banished forever book gets destroyed
