Racist to be against non humanoid sapient partnerships?

Would you consider it racist, hate crime, speciest, xenophobic... or whatever the right word is?

 

For someone to be against not sapient interspecies partnerships (boyfriend and girlfriend/marriage, etc) like Kif and Amy from Futurama, but if it's an MLP FIM Pony, then they are against it, because they look like an animal and they harass these couples.  

 

I think it would be racist and hypocritical. So you aren't against sapient interspecies partnerships, but if they aren't humanoid in appearance then your against it? Just because they look like an animal, it doesn't make them less of a person.

 

Note: It would also be racist if a Pony was against the partnerships of a Pony and Human.

I think that you've skipped one of the crucial words in the thread on your own.

 

I'd like to notice that both Kif and Amy are, by all means, Humanoid. While ponies are certainly not.

 

So if the question is if I'd consider it racism to be against humanoid relationship, I'd say yes. But if it still concerns non-humanoids, the answer changes to "no".

If dogs were completely sentient, I would not mate with them anyway. Somehow, I wouldn't also like to see the outcome of such relationship, if you catch my drift.

 

This issue is far beyond our current understanding of morality since it's strictly hypothetical. It would require a diametrical change in our approach towards the world. But as for now, I apply today's logic and standards, and say it would not be racist. We all need to draw a border somewhere which we won't cross, and that's one of borders for me here.

Nor would I. It's the same as I wouldn't want to date Zoidberg's species and they are humanoid. I know they are sapient, but they too damn ugly. At the same time I wouldn't be against it if a Human was dating one.

It certainly would be racist to try to interfere with people who are in such relationships, it is one thing to not agree with something or be a bit uncomfortable with it but to use harassment or the hand of government to stop it is of course wrong. The ponies do look a bit like horses but they are clearly not animals so morally speaking it wouldn't be much different than dating a humanoid alien so such an arbitrary distinction dosen't make much sense to me.

I would only call this xenophobic if someone discriminated against people who pursued such relationships. Being against it, but not hating on those who do it, would not be xenophobic.

 

Kind of like the homosexuality issue. Some people are aggressively against gays, and discriminate against them, shun them, etc. Others who don't believe in homosexuality don't treat them with disrespect, but rather the same respect as anyone else. Which ones are homophobic? I think the first ones, not the latter.

OK OK so lets compare a real pony to a MLP FIM pony, MLP FIM ponies are basicly humans on four legs.. they dress up, they talk and they sure as hell dont look like an actual pony so if the MLP FIM ponies were to be adressed not as ponies but as lets just make a bad example because im not creative, from now on they're not ponies they're scootalooians from the planet of cutimaricus crusadicus, would that maybe make people less racist about it? or does people straight up go against it because they are ''ponies'' when they really arent

I think that people have totally forgotten that the reason why people have relationships in the first place (on a basic level, that is) is so that children can be raised in a loving environment.

 

Can humans and ponies even have children together? Probably not. If they could, holy cow, do not want. The poor creature would live a horrible life with an identity crisis.

 

I know that there are real couples who are sterile for one reason or another, so it would be in poor taste for me to say that childlessness alone is the reason not to be in a relationship with a pony.

 

The difference is that for a childless couple, a heterosexual union between two humans being childless means that something is wrong with one of their bodies. A part or several parts of them do not function as intended. However, for a pony and a human to be unable to make children with each other, or to make a horribly ugly creature, nothing is wrong with their bodies - they could mate normally with their own species without much problem on their end.

 

I am just glad that ponies from MLP are not real. We are so afraid in our society of offending people and making them unhappy that we are unwilling to stand our ground and tell these people that breeding between two different species that would not mix well together would not benefit the whole of society.

This is probably why I fail to see the positive in a human/pony sexual relationship. The multiverse theory to me is pretty ridiculous, mainly because even if it were possible for it to be real, the whole idea of a multiverse theory can't even be a real theory... we have no way of testing it, we have no leads, no natural traces that could solidify the theory... at this point, people can say whatever the hell they want about the whole thing and there'd be no way to prove them right or wrong.
