How to get people to buy my drawings of Ponies and other stuff

I want to raise money for a new phone, next year's Brony Convention and save up a little for animation/graphic design college. I'm going to sell my fan art or other cartoony art to people at high school. The drawings can be about anything that has something to do with cartoons which is the best I can do. They're going to be put in decorative frames that I'm going to make with Construction paper and I'm going to sell small ones for 3 bucks, medium for 6 and large for ten. I know a couple of Bronies and I think they'll want to buy some

I just want advice on how to convince other people at school or where ever to buy my drawings :) I can't sell online because I'm only 15 and don't have a lot freedom :P

Show your generosity by helping me out :D

Physical copies of work from non-Picasso artists is pretty stupid, and your excuse about "wowe no fredom plse" is irrelevant.

I highly doubt anyone is going to want physical copies of your work. Also, the "AM 15 NO FREED0M XD" is a horrible excuse for laziness.

Not allowed to sell stuff over the internet /: Still under my parents' orders. And sorry but I think that they would be interested. My drawings are pretty nice ._. I just wanted ways to convince people to buy... But doesn't hurt to try right?

I'm not sure if any of the following would work - your mileage may vary! But how about:

Nicely designed engaging posters put up advertising your art.

Finding ways to display it, like on a folder or even t-shirt, so if someone compliments you, you can tell them that you take commissions.

Having a table at a convention, local craft fair or something similar where you can sell your work.

Getting some business cards (you can get some really cheap ones) that you can use to make sure people know where to find you online. Like for an example, you could donate some art to a local raffle or something, and attach the card so people can look up the artist (you!) and see that you do commissions.

I hope some of that gives you food for thought anyway.

You have to be pretty damn good at your art to have folks want paid commissions from you, Like really really good. Some of the ones i've seen look like mastercrafted paintings with insane detailing.

The T-shirt thing isn't a bad idea. least that way who ever is buying it its paying both for the art itself and something they can actually wear and use (and doubles as advertising).

In my opinion, It is possible for that to happen but I just want to point out some things, The Obvious: Are you even allowed to sell on school grounds ?!?!?!?! (I'd get suspended if i did), The Helpful: If you're really that desperate you have 2 options (judging from me), just like Detective Butler has been making auctions, you perhaps could ask the admins to auction some of your drawings (if they are grade A* standards :P) and second option : You might start of as a sole trader and sell on the streets (many people do that and make hundreds). And Lastly: I wish for you the best of luck for it, and instead of just saving up for a phone, try to make some extra profit to pay your pals who helped you with it :) or keep some to yourself (trust me its the right thing to do).

Hope this helped  :)

@Candy Blaze

As you are seeking advice on something artistic in nature, I have moved your topic to the Creative Resources section so that other members can give you advice more efficiently.

In regards to selling your artwork, I will be quite honest that outside of selling outside of an organized convention or meet up of some kind, it may be quite difficult to convince interest.  It is indeed possible, but in your situation it will just be a bit more of a challenge.

Unless your school lacks a policy on unsolicited advertising or sales, I would recommend not selling on school property as this can lead to some undesirable consequences.  However, there would be nothing against showing said artwork to your fellow students and perking interest in that manner.  One way to go about it would be to compile a nice portfolio of your best work to show others, gauging their reaction and possible interest.  If anyone is genuinely interested, you can casually add that you are indeed selling your pieces and if anyone asks what your prices are, just as nonchalantly tell them and hopefully a sale will be close behind.

My apologizes that I could not provide more assistance in this matter, but if I do come up with something else, I will be sure to update this.   I do wish you the best of luck with this endeavor and I hope you can find a way to make it work!
